Intruder in the Dark

Another hard decision had to be made. I thought long and hard about it, but I came to my final answer. Yes, I did decide to have Leena lose her semblance. I really don't know why, but it just made sense to me. And, it would also push her to improve her skills as a marksman even more. Without her semblance which basically made her eyes built in sniper scopes, she's gonna have to rely on her own strengths and abilities to go past her limits. And, it'll be interesting to see where she goes from here. But for now, let's jump back to another side of the story. Enjoy!

-Point of View: Temair-

Coming home to Menagerie was actually much more of a blast than I thought it would be. The last few days went by and I was able to relieve a lot of stress. I stayed at the orphanage the entire time, giving Blake the time she needed alone with her family. Sun ran off a few days ago and I hadn't seem him since. But knowing him, he was fine. Everyday I would wake up to some of the other kids staring at my face or pulling on my hair. It was a little annoying but it didn't surprise me. It normally just meant they wanted to play with me. I had to hide away my weapon so none of them would try to use it. But overall, it just felt great to finally be home. Today, I was currently helping to make dinner. The sun was going down at this point and it was going to be dark soon. All the children returned to the house after playing in the streets all day. "It seems they really did miss you a lot." Sandra said as she was also cooking dinner. "I could say the same thing. A day didn't go by when I didn't think about all of you." I said as I was chopping some vegetables. "They all seem to like that boy you brought with you. He seems.... a little reckless though." Sandra said as I chuckled a bit. "Don't worry about him. He can act stupid from time to time but his heart's always in the right place." I explained as someone came through the front door. Coming into the kitchen was Sun, and he looked out of breath. "Oh, Sun! Come to help make dinner again?" Sandra asked him as he shook his head. "Can I talk to you for a minute, Temair?" He asked me as I gave him a nod. "Yeah, sure. What is it?" I asked as he grabbed my left arm. "Sorry, but it needs to be in private." Sun said as he pulled me into my room and closed the door. "Ok, now what is it that you want to talk about?" I asked him. "Alright, I went back to Blake's house a few days ago and I spoke to her mother. She told me that White Fang members don't wear their masks here in Menagerie." Sun explained as I just looked at him curiously. "And your point is...?" I asked. "Earlier today, I saw someone wearing the Grimm mask, just like the White Fang do!" Sun said as I just rolled my eyes. "Are you sure it just wasn't someone who just got off of a boat and hadn't taken it off yet?" I asked as he put his hands on my shoulder. "I followed them for nearly an hour. They seemed pretty interested in Blake's home, because they circled it twice! We need to go tell Blake about this!" Sun said as I let out a sigh. "Ok, fine. Just let me tell Sandra i'm going out." I said as we left my room. Sun went outside and I told Sandra to finish dinner without me. I then grabbed my weapon and me and Sun headed to Blake's home.

When we arrived, Sun hopped up onto a balcony. I figured it was a bad idea but I followed anyway. "Shhh! I think I can hear Blake." Sun whispered as I tried to listen. He was right though. I could hear Blake's voice and it sounded like she was speaking with her father. There was a sliding door on the balcony and Sun leaned his head against it to listen in better. I just leaned against a wall since I could already hear them fine. "Sun, don't get too close. I don't think it's a good idea to disturb them." I whispered to him. "Oh relax. I'm just getting a closer look." Sun said as I just rolled my eyes at him. "How can you still love me after what I did?" Blake asked with a sad tone. "Blake..." Ghira said as we heard him start to walk around the room. "Your mother and I will always love you." He said as he stopped walking, presumably sitting down next to Blake. "You were right. I shouted at you and yelled at you. But you were right. I called you cowards!" Blake said as we heard her start to cry. "It's okay..." Ghira said to her. "I should've left the White Fang with you and mom. I should've listened to you and i'm sorry. I'm so, so sorry." Blake said as this whole situation became more clear. Blake was part of the White Fang even after her mother and father left the group. She felt it was right to stay but now she's regretting her decision. "Blake, it's fine. We never held anything against you, and I never feared you would fail. The only thing I feared was that you would fall down the wrong path, and I am so proud to see that you haven't." Ghira said as I saw Sun lean against the door even more. "But I did! I was-" Blake began to say but I think Ghira cut her off. "And you pulled yourself out. You came back! There aren't many who possess that kind of strength and even fewer that have the courage to face their demons again. Vale, Mountain Glenn, Beacon. You confronted the White Fang time after time." Ghira said as I remembered back to all those times. "I didn't do it alone." Blake said. "No, you didn't. Which is why I wanted to ask you.... Why did you leave Vale? Why did you leave your friends behind? I know young Temair came with you, along with that other pest, but why leave all your other friends?" Ghira asked her. Meanwhile, Sun was leaning against the door even more at this point, and a creaking sound started to be heard. He pressed against the door and broke it down, himself going with it. He fell right into the room as Blake and her father were having a heart to heart conversation. What an idiot.

"Sun!?" Blake shouted as Sun stood up and looked embarrassed. "Uh, whoa! This isn't the bathroom! Uh, i'll just be going! Sorry to interrupt this tender family moment!" Sun said as I took quick peek into the room. Blake and her father were standing up and were just giving death glares at Sun. "I really don't like you." Ghira said as Sun backed out of the room. I heard someone following him and soon enough, out came Blake. She saw me leaning against a wall and had a face of shock. "You're here too!?" She asked. "Wasn't my idea. Mr. "Intrusion" here insisted I came!" I explained as Blake let out a heavy sigh. I heard Ghira leave through another exit in the room, probably to blow off some steam thanks to Sun. Blake then turned around to Sun and she began to slap him in the face a couple of times. "No concept of privacy! No respect for personal space!" She said as Sun backed off. "I'm sorry, ok! Ow, i'm sorry!" Sun said as Blake turned around and walked past me. "Look, I promise it was important! I saw something today that you should hear! I just needed to find you so I could talk to you!" Sun explained as Blake turned around to face him. "What, Sun!? What could be so important!?" Blake asked him. "I was talking to your mom a couple days ago and she said something weird about the White Fang." Sun began to explain as Blake cut him off. "I'm stopping you right there. I already told you, i'm not here to fight the White Fang, i'm not hear to fight anyone. I'm here to rest, to figure things out, and to see my family. The same as what Temair came here to do." Blake said, pointing to me. "Your mom said White Fang members don't wear masks in Menagerie. But I saw one at the market today! I followed them for a while, and I even got a picture!" Sun said as he went to take out his scroll. He did and he began to look through his pictures. "I'm just trying to help." He said as he went to show Blake the picture. "I don't want your help!" Blake said as she grabbed Sun's scroll and threw it into the trees. The two of them then glared to each other but something broke the silence. When Blake threw the scroll, someone let out a grunt of pain. Almost like someone got hit by it when Blake threw it. The three of us became intrigued and looked over at the woods. We looked at the trees and just barely in view was a person. They were crouching on top of a palm tree and they were clearly wearing a White Fang mask. The person obviously knew we were looking at them because they started to make a run for it. They jumped from tree to tree and when they were lit up by the moonlight, we could see their whole body was a pitch black colour. "A freakin' ninja!?" Sun said in disbelief. "A spy!" Blake said as she jumped after them, going from tree to tree. "Hey wait!" Sun said, trying to stop her. "What's happened?" Kali asked as she ran out to see what was going on. "The White Fang is evil, I totally called it, and we're bringing your daughter back!" Sun said as he went after Blake. "Don't worry. Even without me and Sun, your daughter is more than capable of holding her own in a fight. We'll be back soon." I said to Kali as I went after Sun and Blake.

I was able to catch up with Sun thanks to my semblance and in no time, Blake came into our view. She was still jumping from tree to tree and the White Fang member was just ahead of her. Pretty soon, the member ran onto some rooftops. Blake and the rest of us followed. The member then pulled out a weapon, looking like it was a rapier type sword with a trigger system and gun cylinders on the sides of it. The person turned around and slashed a large metal pipe, releasing some steam from it. Blake slid underneath the pipe as me and Sun just landed on the rooftops. The member had stopped running for some reason and was now staring at Blake. Blake was doing the same as well. Me and Sun were able make it to the scene and surround this White Fang member on all sides. "Give it up! I'm not above hitting a girl, you kn-" Sun began to say as the member attacked him. She hit the trigger on her weapon and the blade turned into a whip and started glowing yellow. It was infused with electricity Dust. She missed Sun but he fell backwards onto his back. Blake then took this opportunity to rush her, kicking at her left arm which held Sun's scroll. Blake kicked it away and the two of them began to fight. The member kicked away Blake but left herself open. Sun came in and tackled her to the ground. "One of you.... grab the scroll! Seems someone thinks it's important!" Sun yelled as I jumped for it. It was about to fall off the edge of the building we were on but I managed to snag it before it did. I then looked back and saw the member headbutt Sun in the face. She got him off of her but she heavily cracked her Grimm mask in the process. One half broke off, revealing parts of her face. She got up and tried to run for me and get the scroll but Sun intercepted by using his semblance. He made 4 light clones and used them all to dog pile this person to the ground. I then threw the scroll to Blake as Sun exhausted himself. His clones disappeared and the member got up and pointed her blade at all of us. The rest of her mask fell off when she stood up as well. Standing before us was a girl with long red hair, light blue eyes, brown, scaly skin, and wearing a one piece jumpsuit.

"Ilia..." Blake said as I remembered that name. I remembered Corsac and Fennec Albain mention her name when we met them a few weeks ago. "Wait, you know her!?" Sun asked as he stood back up slowly. "But she doesn't even look like a F-" Sun began to say as Ilia attacked him. Her skin changed colour to red and she turned her blade into a whip again. She struck Sun in his left shoulder and she made him fall to the ground. I quickly pulled out my weapon and took aim at Ilia. "Sun, no!" Blake yelled as she ran over to him. Ilia then turned her attention back over to Blake and me. "Give the scroll back to me!" Ilia demanded. "No." Blake said firmly as Ilia changed her skin colour again. I was able to make the connection that her Faunus traits were that of a chameleon. He skin was now green and her hair was blue. "You shouldn't have come back." Ilia said as she began to back away from us. She then whipped her blade at the ground in front of her, creating a smokescreen. And when it cleared, she was gone. I put away my weapon and then me and Blake rushed over to Sun. His shoulder was bleeding and Sun wasn't moving at all. "No, no, no, no, not again, please! Temair, go get help!" Blake asked me as I gave her a nod. But as I was about to leave to find help, Sun began to lift his head up. "Wait, look! He's still moving!" I said as Blake looked down on him. Sun coughed a bit and then opened his eyes. ".....That hurt." He said as I crouched down next to him. "Don't give us a scare like that." I said as he gave us a wink. "Just hold on, Sun. Just hold on. We'll help get better." Blake said as we gave each other nods. I then slowly picked up Sun and placed him over my back. I carried him all the way back to Blake's home where he was placed in the infirmary. He was going to make it out completely fine. But one thing was uncertain. Who was that Ilia girl, and why was she so desperate to keep us from having that scroll?
