Finally Caught Up
Things are getting so emotional for me. Writing all these events that each of my own characters have to go through is making me feel so sad. Having Drake become a slave, and now Amber's parents and home village being destroyed, it's just painful not only for them, but for me. I'm actually kind of glad we're changing view again because this chapter shouldn't have too much emotional moments. And also, don't forget, my fifth series, which i'm titling "Predator Squad" will have its first prologue/info chapter out soon. Just keep an eye out for it if you're interested. I'm hoping to have that chapter and another one out before the end of this week, so check it out sometime. But for now, let's get back into another side of the story. Enjoy!
-Point of View: Temair-
Myself and Sun had been on Blake's trail for months now. I'm pretty sure 6 or seven months had passed by now but I wasn't too sure at this point. Regardless, the trail was beginning to go cold and the two of us decided to split up and cover a larger area to find her. I had an idea of where she might've gone and it was one I've been thinking to do as well. I relayed a message to Sun and told him where I was headed to. He told me he'd try and make it but he was so far out that the chances were pretty slim. My idea was that Blake was headed to Menagerie, the continent of the Faunus. The land is actually where i'm from. If I were to run off somewhere, that's where I would go. In no time I managed to find my way to a ship that was leaving a harbor at the edge of Vale. It was carrying Faunus of every type over to Menagerie so they gladly let me board. The captain of the ship gave me an extra special greeting since he saw I was a huntsman, or I guess huntsman in training. I got my own room for the trip and I could finally relax for a bit while I searched this ship for Blake. And also, during the time I was out looking for Blake, I managed to acquire some new clothes which have now replaced my old ones. I now wore a dark brown biker jacket with the sleeves reaching half way down my arms, with a yellow undershirt, as well as a pair of black jeans and some red sneakers. It was actually quite comfortable. I didn't stand out in a crowd much so I just grew accustomed to it. But what didn't set in yet was the thoughts of my friends and teammates. I just... left them behind to go and find Blake, when sometimes I think about what would've happened if I stayed with them. Amber's probably a mess, Leena could be dead, and Drake... I don't even know where the hell he could be. And that's just the thoughts of my teammates. I'm sure everyone else had suffered through these hard times as well. I just had to keep my head up high and keep moving forward. If I can't let go of what happened in the past, then there's no way i'll be ready for whatever awaits me in the future.
After a few hours of waiting, the ship left the port and headed to Menagerie. I left my room and went onto the deck to look around for Blake if she was here as well. I went on the upper deck first, and I walked past the captain's cabin where the controls and steering for the ship were. The captain wasn't in there but other ship mates were steering and navigating the ship. I gave them a wave before walking away. I had actually planned to ask the captain if he saw any other huntsman or huntresses board the ship, but it looked like it may be more harder to find him than I thought. But at the same time, it wasn't too often I would get the chance to look out onto the ocean from the view of a ship. I decided to take a quick break and lean against a railing while watching the waves go by. But as I went to do that, something caught my eye on the lower deck. I saw the captain and he was talking to a familiar looking girl wearing a white overcoat and purplish pants. "Are you by any chance with the other huntsman on this ship?" I heard the captain as the girl. "No. It's just me." I heard the girl say as the captain began to walk away. "I'll leave you alone then. But, a fair warning: these trips can be awfully boring." The captain said as he rounded a corner. The girl then reached up and took off a bow from her head, revealing some black cat ears underneath. She then threw the bow off the ship and watched it float away in the water. "So she is here." I thought as I jumped down to the lower deck. I walked over to the railing the girl was leaning over and I did the same.
"I knew you'd look better without that thing." I said to Blake as she let out a sigh. "Why are you here?" She asked without looking at me. "Well, I was with Sun but we recently split up to look for you. We just wanted to make sure that you're alright. And... I figured this would be a good place to find you. It's where I would go if I was in your shoes." I said to Blake as she looked at me. "And where's Sun now?" She asked me. "I told him where I was headed. Don't know if he made it or not. But... thinking back to what happened... you made sure everyone was okay after the battle. But then you just... ran off. Why'd you do it?" I asked her kindly. "I had to. You wouldn't understand." Blake said to me as she put her head down. "Actually... I think I do." I said as she perked her head back up. "The moment you left us, I was able to figure out what you were doing." I said to Blake as she looked at me curiously. "Oh really? What, did you think I was going after the White Fang for revenge or something? Because if that's what you thought, then you're wrong." Blake said as I let out a sigh. "No, that's what Sun thought. But unlike him, I can see what you were doing. You just wanted to get away from it all, the fighting, the danger. You were tired of it, and you just wanted it all to stop. And that's why I figured Menagerie is where you would be headed to." I explained to Blake as she grew a small smile. "Well, I guess I can say you're pretty close to the answer. But why'd you come here?" She asked me as I let out a small chuckle. "You forget, i'm from Menagerie too. And besides, after everything that's happened, I figured I may take one out of your book go to the same place you're headed to." I explained to Blake as she looked at me curiously again. "And where do you think that is?" She asked me. "Home." I said as she grew a bigger smile. "There's the answer I was looking for." She said as suddenly, the ship began to rock back and forth a little violently.
Emerging from the ocean near the front of the ship was a colossal sized Grimm. It's type was called a "Sea Feilong" and it looked like it was ready to attack the ship. The Feilong looked like a huge sea serpent/dragon with large claws and spines on its back.

"All hands to battle stations! Ready the heavy cannon!" We heard the ships captain yell as all the deckhands ran to their stations. And shortly after, a large cannon barrel appeared near the bow of the ship. It fired a powerful shot at the Feilong but the Feilong was quick enough to avoid getting hit. "Come on! We're not gonna get anywhere if that thing attacks the ship!" Blake said as she pulled out her weapon and ran for the front of the ship. I did the same, pulled out my weapon and changed it to its axe-from, and then ran after Blake. We stopped at the bow as the Feilong let out a loud roar. "Temair, throw me up to it!" Blake said as I gave her a nod. I held my axe flat out in front of me and Blake jumped onto it. I then pulled it back and swung it forward with all my might. I launched Blake into the air and she was headed straight for the Feilong. She threw her weapon at the head of the Grimm while still holding onto its tether. Her blade latched onto the Grimm and she used it to swing around to the back of the Feilong. She then pulled out her weapon and began to shoot the Grimm in the face. It was proving to be ineffective though and the Feilong dived back under the water. Blake came back down and landed on the ship as the Feilong reappeared. "It's skin is too tough! We need to hit it with something harder!" Blake said as I gave her a nod. "Oh, I've got something for it!" I said as I loaded a full magazine of explosive dust into my weapon. The blade of my axe began to glow orange and smoke up. "Here we go!" I said as I used my semblance to jump over the Feilong. I soon began to fall right for it and I readied my weapon by swinging it over my head. I then brought it down and smashed the blade of my weapon against the head of the Feilong. A large explosion was created that engulfed the Feilong's head in a smoke cloud. I landed back on the ship and waited for the smoke to clear. But as we waited, we heard another loud roar as the Feilong lunged out of the smoke and nearly hit the ship.
"I didn't even leave a scratch on it! What the hell's supposed to hurt this thing!?" I said to myself as the Feilong began to do something. Two large spines protruding from its back shot out and expanded, forming a pair of wings. They began to flap and soon after, the Feilong was flying in the air. "Well that's just great! Always gotta go from bad to worse!" I thought to myself as Blake ran over to me. "You got a plan to take that thing out?" I asked her. "I'm working on it. We gotta do something quick tho-" Blake began to say as someone jumped onto my shoulders and then jumped high into the air. They were wearing a cloak but they soon threw it off and revealed themselves to us. "Sun!?" Me and Blake yelled as we saw Sun activate his semblance, creating two light clones of himself. He sent them both flying ahead of him and they each grabbed onto the horns on the Feilong's head. Sun himself managed to grab into the two barbels near the nose of the Feilong and he began to irritate it. The Feilong opened its mouth, looking like it was going to roar again. ut instead, a huge ball of energy began to form in its mouth. The Feilong fired off a beam of electricity that nearly struck the ship. "What are you doing!?" Blake yelled to Sun as the Feilong began to fly around with him still on it. "Oh... just uh... Hanging out..." Sun said as the Feilong whipped his head around, causing Sun to fall off and over to some rocks that were sticking out of the water. "Come on! We need to catch him!" I said as we both ran for Sun. Blake grabbed my hand and I used my semblance to launch us over to where Sun was falling. We landed on a large, flat rock and we both stood under Sun. Blake managed to catch him before he struck the ground. "My hero." Sun said like an idiot. "You're not supposed to be here!" Blake yelled to him as she dropped him on the ground. "Yeah? Well it looks like you two need all the help you can get!" Sun said as he stood back up. "Save the chit-chat for later! Just fight and defend the ship!" I said as we all ran back for the Feilong.
The Feilong was currently charging up another electric blast and was hovering over the ship. "Temair! See if you can stop it!" Blake yelled as I used my semblance to leap back onto the ship. I quickly loaded up my weapon with a full magazine of gravity dust and that made the blade turn a black colour. The Feilong fired its beam and I tried to counter by meeting it with the end of my weapon. I struck the beam and the change in gravity caused the beam to go flying straight up into the air. Sun and Blake managed to get back onto the ship right after I did that. "Huntress! Huntsmen! If you can clip its wings and draw it out towards the bow, we can take it out!" The ships captain said as we all looked to each other. "I mean... you're the one with the sword." Sun said to Blake as she just rolled her eyes. "Just shut up and give us something to jump off of!" I yelled as Sun jumped over to the bow of the ship. He made three light clones using his semblance which threw him up into the air. "Grab onto me! I'll get us high enough!" I said as Blake climbed onto my back. I ran forward and one of Sun's light clones stood there waiting to boost me up. I jumped onto its shoulders and then used my semblance to launch us skyward. We met Sun as we were going up and I jumped off of his shoulders as well. "Now Blake!" I said as she then climbed up and jumped off of my own shoulders. She soared straight over the Feilong and she pulled out her blade as she began to come back down. She dove straight for the Feilong which surprisingly hadn't noticed her yet. She dove past the top of its left wing and she slashed away at the wings membrane and webbing. The Feilong let out a deafening screech, an obvious sign it was in pain. And it clearly slowed it down as it's movements became slower and it began to lose altitude. Me and Sun landed on a nearby rock and we could see Blake was falling right for us. Sun stood underneath and he managed to catch her. "This is the part where you say it!" Sun jokingly said as Blake turned away from him.
But out of nowhere, the Feilong appeared and charged up another electric beam in its mouth. "We need to run!" Sun yelled as me and Blake stood our ground. "Oh, I've got something for this thing! Stand back!" I said as I hit a hidden switch on the bottom of my weapon. It morphed into the shape of a long katana. I quickly pulled out a special ammo case filled with vibrating dust shards and I placed it into the bottom of the base of my swords grip. The blade turned a silver colour and it began to vibrate, drastically increasing its striking power. "Eat this you damn Grimm!" I said as I readied myself to counter the feilong's attack. But as I did that the bow of the ship appeared and impaled the body of the Feilong. It was stuck to the front of the ship and the cannon was aiming right at it. It fired and with that one shot, it blew off the head of the giant Grimm. It's body then slumped over and soon disappeared into nothing. "Well... I guess that works too." I said as I changed my weapon back to normal and then put it away. "Alright! Up top!" Sun yelled, looking for a high-five from Blake. I just looked at him like he was stupid and Blake looked at him with a very angry look on her face. All she did was slap him in the face and then she went and boarded the ship. Me and Sun did the same and made sure all the passengers were all right.
Around an hour later, everything had begun to slow down and the three of us were able to somewhat relax. We all stood on the lower deck of the ship, leaning against its railing. "Why didn't you tell me you made it to the ship in time, Sun?" I asked him as he just gave me a smile. "And spoil the surprise? No way!" He said as I just rolled my eyes. "Temair told me the whole story. I appreciate you being concerned, but you didn't have to come after me. I'm just doing what I need to do." Blake said as Sun looked at her curiously. "It's okay. Because I figured out what you're doing." Sun said as me and Blake just looked at each other. "Oh here we go." I said as I just put my head down and listened. "You're going on a one woman rampage against the White Fang!" Sun said as I could feel the anger coming from Blake. "Told you." I said as she just let out a heavy sigh. "You've always felt like the White Fang was your fight. They show up, trash your school, hurt your friends; it makes perfect sense!" Sun explained as we both just shook our heads at him. "I can't believe you." Blake said. "But there's no way i'm letting you do this alone! It's an honorable approach, for sure, but you're gonna need someone watching your back. and that's where we come in! Us Faunus gotta stick together, after all." Sun said as he put his right arm over my shoulder. "You're wrong, Sun. You're so, so wrong..." Blake said as she started to walk away. I simply looked at Sun and shook my head. And before we walked after her, I quickly whispered "My theory was right..." Into his ear. "I'm not going anywhere near the White Fang. I need to sort some things out." Blake said as she stopped walking and looked out into the ocean. "Then why not do it with your team? Your friends?" Sun asked her as she turned and faced us. "You're one to talk! Assuming Neptune, Sage and Scarlet aren't hiding below deck!" Blake said as I looked at Sun. "What!? You really think I could get Neptune on the ocean? They all flew back to Mistral. I told them i'd catch up. It's not the first time I left them to take a boat." Sun explained as he looked out at the water. "So... if you're not going after the White Fang, where are you going?" Sun asked Blake as I just rolled my eyes again. "Didn't the captain tell you where the ship was headed?" I asked Sun as he just shook his head. "You sneaked onto the ship, didn't you?" I asked Sun as he happily nodded his head. "I'm going home, Sun. To Menagerie." Blake said as she looked out to the water as well. "Well i'm coming with you, no matter what you say! The Grimm are getting worse, you saw it yourself. And just because you're not going after the White Fang, that doesn't mean they won't be coming for you. And besides, i'm..... Kinda already on the boat." Sun explained as we both just shook our heads at him again. "There's really no stopping you two, is there?" Blake said as I just gave her a smile. "Like I said, it'll be a nice chance for me to return to my home too. I promise I won't get into your hair too much." I said to Blake as she gave me a small smile. "This is gonna be great! Never been to Menagerie before! That'll be a regular journey to the East! ...Yeah! I like the sound of that!" Sun said as I started to walk away. "The sky's getting pretty dark. We should all get some rest. We'll talk tomorrow. Sun, you're sleeping in my room." I said as he quickly caught up to me. And before we rounded the corner, I quickly looked back to Blake and gave her a thumbs up. She didn't do the same but I saw her mouth some words to me. I'm pretty sure she said "thank you." Me and Sun left her alone for the night and Sun went on to ask me about Menagerie for almost the entire night. Let's just say... he was very excited to see where me and Blake came from.
