Do you feel that? That's your heart beating at the god damn speed of light. That last chapter was honestly hard to write. And I even had all this planned out long before the release of the chapter. Temair got another upgrade, Weiss unlocked the true power of her Glyphs, and Leena... met Adam. It was just as heartbreaking writing this scene as it was watching it when Adam cut off Yang's arm. But I had to push it further into the extreme. And now, we'll be moving into the finale portion of the battle of Beacon. And if you thought things were intense before, you are sadly mistaken. I'm taking things from 1-100 in an instant during this chapter. And lastly, expect this chapter to be a little longer than normal. So get ready. Enjoy!
-Point of View: Drake-
Me and Ruby headed for the courtyard, passing by bodies of people and Grimm along the way. The carnage was unbearable and it made me feel sick just thinking about everything that's happening. We could see the main hall from where we were at and we saw most of our friends outside of it. The injured were laying down and everyone who could still fight were preparing to evacuate. Temair and Weiss seemed to be leading them, directing orders to everyone. Weiss looked over to us and saw we were running for the group. But I also saw her face changed to a horrified expression. "'Ruby! Behind you! There's a Grimm!" Weiss yelled as everyone who could still fight took aim at me. I stopped running and held my hands in the air, trying to show that it was me. "Stop! It's not a Grimm! It's Drake! Don't shoot!" Ruby yelled as I saw everyone lower their weapons. I let out a sigh of relief and I ran over to the group. When I made it, Temair came in close to get a good look at me. "What happened to you, Drake?" He asked me. "It's a long story. I don't have time to explain. What's the situation here?" I asked him. "We think everyone's made it out of Beacon. And all the injured are accounted for." He explained as I started to look around. "Where's Amber? And Leena? Did they make it out alright?"I asked him as he put his head down. "And what about Yang and Blake? Are they okay?" Ruby asked him as he stepped to the side. What we saw next was utterly heartbreaking. On the ground in front of us were our friends. Yang laid on the ground, unconscious and missing the lower half of her right arm. Blake was still conscious but she had suffered a deep stab wound in the left side of her chest. And Leena... might have been the worst of them all. She laid on the ground, seemingly lifeless. Her left eye had been impaled and she wasn't breathing at all. Me and Ruby ran over to them. "What happened!? Who did this to you!?" I asked Blake as she started crying. "I'm sorry..." She said as Amber came by and put her hand on my left shoulder. "We did everything we could. Yang's gonna pull through but we've gotta get her out of here immediately. And Leena... she's alive. But she's barely even breathing and we think she's fallen into a coma." Amber explained as I stood up and faced her. I then gave her a hug and cried into her shoulder. "I'm so sorry... for leaving all of you. If I hadn't left... this wouldn't... have happened!" I said as she gently pushed me away from her. "This isn't the time to Cry, Drake. You're our leader... so start acting like it! Whether you're looking like a Grimm or not... you're still you and we need you! We're gonna get out of here... and we're gonna save Leena!" Amber said as she started to cry now. I looked at her stunned and then I patted her on the head. "When did you... get so brave?" I said with a smile as I made her cry even more.
I then looked back down to Ruby who stood back up. She wiped the tears from her eyes and then faced Weiss. "Let's go. We've gotta get them all to safety." She said as Nora and Ren stepped in. "Wait! We can't leave yet! Jaune and Pyrrha are still missing! They ran off to Ozpin's office when we were fighting some Grimm earlier!" Nora explained as me and Ruby looked at each other. "What!?" Ruby asked them. "Look guys, that giant wyvern Grimm keeps circling the school! Even the White Fang are pulling out! We all have to go... now!" Sun said to us as we looked to everyone else around us. They were all injured, whether they were still standing or not. Me and Ruby were possibly the only ones who could still fight... and we weren't going to leave anyone behind. "I'll find them..." Ruby began to say as I stepped in. "We'll find them... and we'll bring them back." I said as Ruby gave me a determined nod. "I'm in too. Watch after Blake, Yang, and Leena. We'll be back." Weiss said as she joined our side. The three of us then started to run for Ozpin's office. "Drake! Promise me you'll come back!" Amber yelled to me as I stopped to face her and Temair. She was still crying too, and I could see a very worried expression on Temair's face. "I'm your leader.... I'll always come back! Take care! I'll see you both when this is all over!" I said as I gave them a thumbs up. They did the same and I turned back around to run after Weiss and Yang.
On our way to Ozpin's quarters, Weiss suddenly got a call on her scroll. We stopped for a moment so she could see who it was. "It's Jaune!" She said as she answered the call. "Jaune, where are you!?" Weiss asked as she put her scroll on speaker phone. "I'm fine, but you have to help! Please, you have to stop her!" Jaune pleaded as we all grew confused. "What!? Who!?" Weiss asked. "Pyrrha! She's going after that woman... at the top of Beacon tower! She doesn't stand a chance!" We heard Jaune say as we all looked at each other. "Jaune, what're you talking about!? Where are you!?" Weiss asked. "Don't worry about me! Please... You have to save Pyrrha..." Jaune said as we heard him scream then his call cut out. "Looks like we know where to go. Come on! We have to hurry!" I said as the three of us headed for Beacon tower. Luckily for us, it was just around the corner from where we were. We could see the entrance in no time and it looked like it had been broken through. And as we started to head for the entrance, the wyvern Grimm flew over top of us. Large black spots of liquid were dripping from its body and landing on the ground in front of us. And from those puddles of black liquid, came creatures of Grimm. Ursa, Beowolves, Griffons, they were all here. They were blocking our path to the tower, so we had no choice but to fight. I went after some Ursa while Weiss and Ruby tag-teamed the rest. I had no weapon to attack them with so I had to use the claws on my right arm instead. I leaped at an armored Ursa and I landed on its back. I then reached out and grabbed one of the spines protruding from its back. I grabbed it with my right arm and I pulled the spine right out of its body. I then shoved it right into the Ursa's left eye and it fell to the ground and disappeared. Two more Ursa then showed up and tried to swing their huge claws at me. I ducked out of the way of them both and I went in to attack the first one. I slashed at it with my claws and I sliced up its chest with some deep wounds. The Ursa wailed in pain but it kept trying to attack me. It swung at me again but I stepped back to avoid its claws. I then ran at it and shoved my right claw into its chest. My claws were so sharp that my hand went right through the Ursa's body. I pulled my hand back out and the Ursa fell over and disappeared. Only one was left standing now. I tried slamming its claws down at me but I jumped out of the way before it could hit me. I then grabbed one of it's legs and I proceeded to throw the Ursa over top of me and into the ground. It laid on its back, wailing from the pain it just received. But I wasn't done. I reached down with both of my hands, my right grabbing onto the bottom of the Ursa's mouth and my left hand grabbing onto the top of the Ursa's mouth. I then began to pull them apart. I could hear a cracking sound and after pulling hard enough, I ripped the jaw right off of the Ursa. It then disappeared into the air as I looked over to Weiss and Ruby.
They both seemed to be doing fine and were killing Grimm that were trying to attack them. But then a loud screeching sound filled the air. I looked up and saw the wyvern Grimm crash into the top of Beacon tower, breaking off the rook. It kept on flying around, dropping more black liquid from its body. I then looked to the tower and saw I had a clear shot for the entrance. "Weiss! Ruby! I'm gonna head into the tower! I'll get Pyrrha out of there! Finish up here quick and help me out, okay!?" I said to them as I saw them give me some nods. I then made a run for Beacon tower, successfully making it to the entrance. The elevator system was broken which meant that I would have to climb up the shaft. There was an emergency ladder on the side though and I quickly started to climb it.
When I finally made it to the top, I saw the roof was gone. This is where the wyvern Grimm crashed into. And fighting on this floor was Pyrrha who was not wielding either her sword or shield. She was in combat against someone I had met before. This person had long black hair, orange coloured eyes, and she was wearing a red dress. This person was Cinder. Cinder's eyes were glowing a bright orange colour and she was floating around the room, firing streams of fire at Pyrrha. Pyrrha didn't seem like she could do anything as she just kept avoiding Cinder's attacks. "Stop! Leave her alone!" I said as I roared at Cinder. She looked at me and landed on the ground. "Ah, I was wondering when I would finally get the chance to meet you. Drake, was it?" Cinder said as I looked over to Pyrrha. "I don't know what's happened to you, Drake, but stay away from her! She's got the Fall Maiden's powers! She'll kill you!" Pyrrha said as a theory dawned in my head. "Fall Maiden? Like the old fairy tale about the four season maidens? No... it couldn't be true." I thought as Cinder began to walk over to me. "My dear Emerald and Mercury told me all about you Drake. How they witnessed you slightly change into that of a Grimm. How they saw a Taijitu bow before you." Cinder said as Pyrrha just looked confused. "What is she talking about, Drake!?" She asked me. "Drake possesses the blood of an Alpha Grimm. As long as there are no other Grimm around him that are more powerful, he'll be able to control them to his will. And it seems he's also met the side effects of having Grimm blood in his system. And he's slowly turning into one as we speak." Cinder explained as Pyrrha gasped in horror. "It's fine, Pyrrha! I'm still me! And i'm here to help you kill this bitch!" I said as I started walking up to Cinder. "But don't forget... even though you're an Alpha... that doesn't mean you're THE Alpha. If a stronger Grimm is around, you will have no choice but to obey. Now kneel!" Cinder said as she held out her left arm in front of me. I could feel a force flow into my body and it was making me do as she said. I kneeled in front of her as I looked up and locked eyes with her. "You... you're the other Alpha?" I asked her as she giggled. "Why, yes I am. I guess Mercury gave you the message. And when we're all through here, we're gonna be the closest of comrades!" Cinder said as she put her left hand on the top of my head. I started to scream in pain as her strength was unbearable. My thoughts were fading from me and the voices were returning like before. "Kill... Kill... KILL!!!" They started to say as I let out a deafening howl.

"And just like that, you are mine. Now rise my pet." Cinder said as I did as she told. "I want you to kill that girl, and make sure to do it painfully." cinder said, pointing at Pyrrha. My body was moving on its own, and I couldn't do a single thing to stop her. "Drake, no! You have to fight it! She doesn't control you! Don't listen to her!" Pyrrha pleaded but I didn't listen. "Your cries won't reach him. He belongs to me now." Cinder said as I jumped at Pyrrha. She dove out of the way as I smashed a wall behind her with my right arm. "Stop it, Drake! This isn't you!" Pyrrha said as I tried to bite her with my fangs. She grabbed the top of my head and held me back before I bit her. "Stop! Please! You've got to fight it!" Pyrrha said as I hit her in the chest with my left knee. I sent her sliding across the room and she laid there for a few seconds. She slowly got back up though and I started to walk over to her again. "Fine... I didn't want to do this... but it's for the greater good! I'm sorry, Drake!" Pyrrha said as a black aura appeared around her hands. I didn't notice before but the entire room we were in was made of metal, and gears and pillars were laying around everywhere. She began to make them float in the air and she soon sent them flying at me. I slashed my claws at the incoming projectiles and I cut right through the metal. I got close to Pyrrha and I reached out and grabbed her neck. I lifted her up high and I rammed her against a wall. But she raised up her right arm and used her semblance again. A metal beam came crashing into the back of my head and it made me let go of Pyrrha. She ran around me but I spun around and grabbed onto her pony-tail. I then proceeded to swing her around and slam her against the ground. She laid on the ground before me and I walked over and put my right foot down in her gut. I roared in her face as I raised my right claws up to kill her. But Pyrrha raised her left arm up and used her semblance again. She made a huge metal pillar come crashing into me, stopping me from pinning her down. She nearly sent me flying out of the room and down to the ground below but I managed to grab onto a railing next to a window. I climbed back in the room and howled at Pyrrha.
I then charged Pyrrha and she ran at me. She kept on using her semblance, making a shield of metal in front of her. I tried to cut through it like before but the metal was too think this time. She began to push me back with it and she rammed me into a wall. I couldn't move but I wasn't out of the fight yet. I headbutted the wall behind me and broke it down. I then climbed onto the outside wall and broke into the room from another point on the walls. I then jumped at Pyrrha and tackled her to the ground. I quickly pinned her arms and I chomped down on her right shoulder. Pyrrha screamed in pain and then used her legs to shove me off. She quickly got back up and started using her semblance again. She took a metal support beam and made it float in front of her. At this point, I had started to charge her again. Pyrrha started focusing her semblance and she began to reshape the support beam. She was making it smaller and much sharper, turning it into a spear. When it was finished, she sent it flying it me. I was only about 15 feet away so I didn't have time to dodge the attack. The spear impaled my right arm, making me wail with a deathly roar. But I quickly pulled out the spear and I bowled over Pyrrha. I then grabbed her left leg and I bit into it as well. She screamed again and kicked me away with her other leg. I backed off and watched her struggle to stand up. She rose to her feet but couldn't keep it up for long. She soon fell to her knees. I was about to go in and finish her off but Cinder stopped me. "That's enough, Drake. I feel as though I should be the one to finish her off." Cinder said as she formed a bow and arrow in her hands. "It's unfortunate you were promised a power that was never truly yours. But take comfort in knowing that I will use it in ways you could never have imagined." Cinder said as she took aim with her bow. "Tell me. Do you... believe in destiny?" Pyrrha asked Cinder as she temporarily lowered her bow. "Yes." Cinder said as she quickly took aim again. And as she did that, someone else appeared. Running up the side of the tower and jumping into the room was Ruby. She arrived just in time to see Cinder shoot and arrow into Pyrrha's chest. I could see the arrow was burning away at her skin. Cinder then walked up to Pyrrha and placed her left hand on her head. Cinder used her powers and she incinerated Pyrrha. Pyrrha turned bright orange and then her body scattered into ashes, flowing away with the wind.
I don't know what happened after Pyrrha was killed but I somehow came back to my senses. My sadder emotions must've taken over and allowed me to take control of myself. But I was too late. I just helped the enemy kill one of my closest friends. And now, another was here, and she might end up with the same fate. I looked over to Ruby and I saw her fall to her knees. But then, something unexpected began to occur. Ruby's eyes began to shine. Ruby began to scream and a bright silver light came shooting out of her eyes. It engulfed Cinder and myself, burning away at me. But as it started to hurt me, I tripped over a piece of metal on the ground and fell out of the tower. I watched as the entire top of Beacon tower began to light up with this silver light. The wyvern Grimm was engulfed too and I could hear it wailing in agony. And as I fell, an excruciating pain started to burn through my whole body. It was much worse than before when I would turn into a Grimm. This was very different. The pain was so much that I instantly fainted when it started. My body then fell all the way down to the ground, crashing into the earth, where my body laid near lifeless. What happened after that... I don't know. All I could do now was hope Ruby made it out alright. I had to hope she could beat Cinder with whatever that light was. I hoped and prayed that everyone else that I cared about was able to make it out alright. Because after everything that I just did, I didn't want to live anymore. From this darkness that I feel right now... I hope that I don't wake up.
