No One's PoV

"Keep your heads down!" Alex shouted as the first wave of bombs fell. The explosions rocked the hillside, but the German engineers had built their gun positions well. The reinforced emplacements held.

"Those are Ju-87s!" Andy called out, his eyes tracking the diving aircraft. "Three squadrons!"

"They'll level this entire area." Emily added, already moving toward one of the 88mm guns. "Unless..."

Alex caught her meaning immediately. "Andy, Emily, on those guns! John, ammunition duty! The 88's a beast against aircraft."

"Can they even operate those?" Weiss asked, leaning forward.

"They're historians." Blake reminded her. "They probably know these weapons better than the original crews did."

On screen, Emily and Andy were already moving. Their hands flew over the controls with practiced ease, muscle memory from countless reenactments translating into real action.

"Traversing!" Emily called out, spinning her gun to track the incoming aircraft. "Andy, take the left formation!"

"These are the late war models," Andy noted, adjusting his gun's elevation. "They'll be making shallow dives, trying to stay out of our effective range."

Alex spotted a fallen German soldier with a Kar 98k. He snatched up the rifle, checking its action. "Iron sights. This'll be interesting."

"Captain, you can't seriously think..." John started, carrying ammunition to Emily's position.

"Less doubting, more loading." Alex cut him off, finding a position with good sight lines. "Those planes will start their next attack run in three... two..."

The Stukas screamed down, their signature sirens wailing. But this time, they met prepared resistance. Emily's 88 thundered, the high velocity round catching the lead aircraft perfectly. The explosion sent burning fragments raining down.

"That's one!" She called out triumphantly.

"Yang, look at their teamwork!" Ruby exclaimed as John smoothly loaded another round into Emily's gun.

Andy's gun roared next, catching a Stuka just as it pulled out of its dive. "They're adjusting their pattern!" He warned. "Breaking into smaller groups!"

"Lead them more!" Alex advised, tracking a plane through the Kar 98k's iron sights. "They'll turn left. It's standard Luftwaffe doctrine when meeting heavy flak!"

The sky became a chaos of anti aircraft fire and diving planes. Emily and Andy worked their guns with increasing confidence, their knowledge of aircraft behavior allowing them to predict attack patterns.

"Ammunition count?" John called out, running between the guns.

"Eight rounds left!" Emily responded, her gun claiming another victim.

"Twelve here!" Andy added, scoring a spectacular hit that sent a Stuka cartwheeling into the hillside.

Alex remained focused through the Kar's sights, waiting. "Come on." He muttered. "Show me that cockpit..."

A Stuka leveled out for a strafing run, its pilot making the fatal mistake of flying straight and level for just a moment too long. The Kar 98k cracked once. The German plane suddenly pitched up, then spiraled into the ground.

"Did he just...?" Yang's eyes widened.

"Iron sights." Blake nodded appreciatively. "That's..."

"Impossible." Weiss finished.

"Remaining planes are breaking off!" Andy reported, his gun claiming one last victim as the Stukas retreated.

The scene panned across the sky, showing burning aircraft wreckage scattered across the battlefield. Seven planes had been shot down by the 88s, with Alex's seemingly impossible rifle shot bringing the total to eight.

"Holy shit, Captain." John breathed, looking at the destruction. "That shot with the Kar..."

"Simple physics." Alex replied, though he was clearly pleased. "Calculate the speed, distance, bullet drop..." He paused, grinning slightly. "And get very, very lucky."

"Lucky?" Emily laughed, climbing down from her gun. "You just sniped a dive bomber with iron sights!"

"Getting cocky, old man?" Andy teased, relief making him giddy. Alex glared at him. "I'm only 18." Alex then shook his head.

"Less celebrating, more moving." Alex ordered, but there was pride in his voice. "Those planes will have radioed our position. We need to..."

The distant sound of tanks interrupted him.

"Panthers." John identified immediately. "At least a company."

"Because of course there are." Alex sighed, checking his M2 Carbine's ammunition. "You know, just once, I'd like to have a nice, quiet morning."

"What do we do with the 88s?" Emily asked. "We can't let the Germans recapture them."

Alex's expression turned calculating. "Actually... John, how many shells do we have left?"

"Twenty-three high explosive, seventeen armor-piercing."

"And how many tanks did you say were coming?"

Understanding dawned on their faces.

"Oh, this is gonna be good." Yang grinned, watching the time travelers begin to prepare their surprise for the approaching German armor.

"They're not just fighting with weapons." Ruby observed. "They're fighting with knowledge. They know exactly what those tanks can and can't do."

"More importantly." Blake added. "They know exactly how German tank commanders think."

The scene shifted to show the four taking up positions around the guns, Alex's injuries seemingly forgotten in the heat of battle. They moved with purpose, each action precise and planned.

"Remember." Alex said, his voice carrying the weight of both command and historical knowledge, "Panthers are formidable, but they have weak side armor. If we can get them to turn..."

"We can kill them." Emily finished, already adjusting her gun's traverse.

"Just another day making history." Andy quipped, trying to hide his nervousness.

"No." Alex corrected, a fierce light in his eyes. "Today we change it. Ready weapons!"

The rumble of approaching tanks grew louder as the scene faded to black, promising yet another intense battle to come.

"Oh come on!" Ruby protested at the cliffhanger. "They can't keep doing this to us!"

"Actually." Weiss smiled. "I think they can. And I think I'm starting to see why you picked this movie, Ruby."

The screen lit up again, showing the first Panther cresting the hill, completely unaware of the trap it was driving into.
——-
The scene opened with a lone figure limping across an airfield in the pre dawn light, wearing a stolen German uniform. Alex moved silently between the parked Bf 109s, his M2 Carbine slung across his back.

"Wait, what?" Ruby sat up straight. "Six months later?"

Text appeared on screen. "Six months after the Panther battle..."

Alex reached a Bf 109 G-6 variant, quickly checking its fuel and ammunition. His face was harder now, scarred, his eyes carrying six months of solitary warfare.

"I'm coming for you." He muttered, climbing into the cockpit. "Just hold on."

The scene flashed back briefly. An explosion, Alex being thrown backward into a deep ravine, his friends screaming his name as German forces overwhelmed their position. Then darkness.

"How could he survive?" Emily's voice echoed from a prison camp scene. She, John, and Andy sat in a cold cell, their clothes worn and dirty. "We saw him fall."

"He survived." Andy said firmly. "He had to."

Back at the airfield, Alex started the Bf 109's engine. German voices shouted in alarm as the unauthorized takeoff began.

"They really think a ravine would stop him?" Yang grinned.

The Bf 109 roared down the runway as anti-aircraft guns opened up. Alex pulled back on the stick, the fighter climbing sharply into the dawn sky.

"Multiple bandits, six o'clock high!" He called out habitually before catching himself. There was no one to talk to. Not anymore.

"His form is perfect." Weiss noted as Alex banked the 109 hard, engaging the pursuing aircraft. "He's flying it like he's done this his whole life."

"Because he's studied every aspect of these planes." Blake responded. "Every strength, every weakness."

The air battle was chaos. Alex worked the 109 like a master, its 20mm cannon blazing as he shot down two pursuers in quick succession. A third fell to a perfectly timed burst.

"Running low on ammunition." He muttered. Then, spotting two more Germans trying to bracket him. "Fine. Let's get creative."

In a move that drew gasps from Team RWBY, Alex rolled his 109 inverted, cut the throttle, and drew his M1911A1. The German pilots, not expecting such an insane maneuver, flew right past him. Two precise shots through his opened canopy. Two more planes spiraled down in flames.

"That's impossible!" Weiss exclaimed.

"That's Alex." Ruby countered, completely engrossed.

The battle continued as Alex fought his way toward the prison camp. His knowledge of Luftwaffe tactics let him predict their every move. Three more planes fell to his cannon fire. Four more to expertly timed deflection shots.

"There!" He spotted the prison camp. His ammunition was spent, his fuel running low. German anti aircraft fire was intensifying.

Inside their cell, John looked up at the sound of aircraft. "That's not right." He said. "The engine sound... someone's pushing a 109 way past its normal limits."

"Only one person would be crazy enough to fly like that." Andy grinned.

Emily moved to the window. "He's coming in too fast. He's not going to..."

"CLEAR THE YARD!" Alex's voice boomed over the prison camp's stolen loudspeaker system. The German guards looked up in confusion. Just in time to see a Bf 109 fighter plane diving straight at them.

"He's not..." Blake started.

"Oh, he definitely is." Yang laughed.

Alex aimed the 109 directly at the prison's main gate. At the last possible second, he pulled back on the stick, using the plane's momentum to kick flip over the wall. The 109 crashed through the gate in a spectacular fireball as he ejected, tucking into a roll as he hit the ground.

The M2 Carbine was already in his hands as he came up shooting. Six months of solo combat had honed his skills to a razor's edge. German guards fell before they could even register what was happening.

"Track the movement patterns!" He called out to himself. "Watch the guard rotation!" He'd studied this camp's layout for months, learning every detail, every schedule.

"He's insane." Weiss whispered.

"He's rescuing his friends." Ruby corrected.

They watched as Alex fought his way through the camp. His M2 Carbine chattered in controlled bursts, each shot finding its mark. When he ran dry, the M1911A1 appeared in his hands, claiming more targets.

Finally, he reached the cell block. The lock didn't stand a chance against his boot.

"Miss me?" He asked, framed in the doorway.

"Six months!" Emily punched his shoulder. "We thought you were dead!"

"Slight delay." Alex shrugged. "Ravine was deeper than expected. Took some time to climb out. Then had to figure out where they'd taken you. Learn the guard patterns. Steal a plane. You know how it is."

"You flew a 109 here?" John asked incredulously.

"Flew it, crashed it, same difference. Here." Alex handed out recovered weapons. "We should go. Place is about to get busy."

"How are we getting out?" Andy checked his retrieved M1A1 Carbine.

"Remember those Panthers we were fighting six months ago?" Alex's grin was wolfish.

"You didn't..."

"I did. Got three of them hidden about a mile east. Fully fueled, fully armed."

"You are completely insane." Emily said, checking her Lewis gun's action.

"I'll take that as a compliment." Alex chambered a round in his M2. "Now, who's ready to make some more history?"

The scene shifted to show all four of them fighting their way out of the camp, moving with the coordination of a team reunited. But questions lingered in their eyes. What had happened in those six months? What else had changed? And how much more of history would they have to rewrite before their mission was done?

The scene faded to them approaching the hidden Panthers, the sound of German reinforcements growing in the distance.

"Just another day at the office?" Andy quipped.

"Just another day making history." Alex corrected. "Now, who remembers how to drive a Panther?"

The screen went dark again, promising more action to come.

"This movie just keeps getting better." Yang grinned.

"But what happened in those six months?" Weiss wondered. "And why the time jump?"

"Something tells me we're about to find out," Blake replied as the screen lit up again.

The Panthers thundered through the German countryside, Alex leading in the first tank while Emily manned the gun. John and Andy controlled the other two vehicles.

"Six months." Emily said, watching the countryside roll past. "What happened to you?"

"Later." Alex replied, his eyes scanning the horizon. "We've got company. Aircraft, three o'clock high."

"More 109s?" John's voice crackled over their commandeered radio.

"Negative." Alex corrected. "Those are Me 262s. Jets."

"Look at that light." Ruby pointed at the screen, where a strange shimmer had appeared ahead of the tanks. It rippled with an otherworldly energy, pulsing with colors that seemed impossible.

"What is that?" Andy asked over the radio.

"Same kind of distortion we saw right before..." John's voice trailed off. They all remembered the moment they'd been pulled from their own time.

"Choice time." Alex announced, the jets getting closer. "We can try to fight our way out against experimental German aircraft, or..."

"We go through." Emily finished. "Into the unknown."

"Could be worse than here." John pointed out.

"Could be better." Andy countered.

Alex's response was immediate. "If we stay, those jets will tear us apart. If we go... at least we go together this time." His hands tightened on the controls. "All tanks, form up on me. Whatever's on the other side, we hit it together."

The jets opened fire, their 30mm cannons throwing up dirt around the tanks. But Alex had timed it perfectly. They were already too close to the anomaly to stop.

"Hold on!" He shouted as the lead Panther entered the light.

The screen filled with impossible colors. When it cleared...

Yang suddenly sat up straight. "Wait... isn't that...?"

The Panthers emerged onto familiar grounds. But not to the characters. The portal snapped shut behind them, stranding them once again in an unknown place. But this time...

"That's outside our dorm!" Ruby gasped. "Right now!"

On screen, the tanks ground to a halt as their crews tried to process what they were seeing. The massive towers of Beacon Academy rose before them, but not as some fictional setting. It was the exact same view Team RWBY saw every day.

The hatches opened cautiously. Alex emerged first, his M2 Carbine ready but lowered. His face showed total bewilderment as he took in the impossible sight.

"Well." He said finally. "I don't think we're in 1944 anymore."

A distant explosion caught their attention. The sound of students training with Dust ammunition.

"Those weapons." Emily pointed to where some students were practicing. "That technology..."

"The architecture." John added, staring at Beacon's impossible towers.

"Guys?" Andy's voice was quiet. "I don't think the question is 'when' are we anymore. I think it's 'where'."

The camera panned up to show Beacon in all its glory, then began to pull back, showing the four time travelers and their German tanks looking very out of place on the school's immaculate grounds. Just before it faded to black, the timestamp in the corner showed the current date and time.

The credits began to roll.

"That's... right now." Weiss said slowly. "They're showing them arriving right now."

As if on cue, a distant rumbling could be heard outside their dorm window.

Team RWBY looked at each other, then rushed to look outside. There, on the grounds below, three German Panther tanks sat exactly where they'd been in the movie's final scene. Four figures were emerging from the hatches, looking just as confused as they had on screen.

"No way." Yang breathed.

"It's real." Blake whispered. "They're really here."

Ruby's eyes were wide with wonder as she watched Alex and his team taking in their surroundings. "Well." She said finally, a grin spreading across her face. "I guess movie night isn't over yet."

"Ruby..." Weiss said slowly." What exactly made you pick this movie tonight?"

Before Ruby could answer, an announcement came over Beacon's PA system. "All students please remain calm. Our... unexpected visitors are being attended to. Regular classes will resume tomorrow, with some... interesting additions to the curriculum."

Team RWBY looked at each other, then back at the scene below, where history had literally just driven onto their doorstep.

"So..." Yang said finally. "Anyone up for giving our new friends a tour?"

The others nodded, already heading for the door. Whatever happened next, it was clear that Beacon Academy, and their world, was about to get a lot more interesting.

As they left their dorm, Ruby cast one last look at the movie case still sitting by the TV. The tagline seemed different now. "Some boundaries aren't meant to be crossed. Some lines aren't meant to be rewritten."
