MICHAEL—He is the newly appointed Head Teacher at the school.
He has been teaching for eleven years, with eight of those years being here.

Two years ago, he was told to apply for the Head Teacher job that had opened up, but he decided against it.
He was made Deputy Head instead.

Now that the former Head Teacher has retired, Michael must step up and find his way as a Head Teacher, but he'll need to speed up the process if the antics Mr. Aahan and his class will get up to have anything to say about it.

A long-term neighbour of Paige's, the pair have a lot of history together, although both are adamant it never moved beyond platonic level.

Regardless, Mr. Aahan isn't so sure about him.
He epitomises everything he used to hate about the popular kids in school, but can looks be deceiving?

RUBY—She has been a receptionist at the school for the last twelve years.
She is a no-nonsense individual who prides herself on getting stuff done.

She might seem cold to some of the parents, but she cares about the students and her fellow colleagues.
She just prefers the tough love approach.

She is Michael's ex-wife.
The pair got married two years before Michael started working at the school, and were married for five years, before getting divorced.

Things between them were bad at first, but they learned how to work together in a civil manner, and are now on good terms.

Ruby took Nalini under her wing when she first joined, and has now done the same with their newest member—Jax.

NALINI—She has been working in the office for the last three years.
Unsure of what to do with her life, Nalini decided to work in an administrative role for the school.

She likes it, as it gives her the opportunity to talk to a lot of people and help solve problems.

Nalini is very talkative and has great social skills.
She is also very smart and compassionate—the perfect pair of traits for her job.

She sees Ruby as an older sister figure, or even a mother figure, especially as her own mother isn't exactly thrilled with her job choice.

She's got a lot to prove to a lot of people, but Ruby makes it known that she'll always be there for her.

JAX—He is a single father to a newborn baby, and the newest member of the office team, having started six months ago.

Jax is clumsy, and his new responsibilities mean that Ruby and Nalini have to pick up the slack for him more times than they'd like to.

His heart's in the right place, and he tries his best to juggle his new job and being a father.

He's got a pretty amazing team behind him though, so even though it feels like it at first, he's never alone.

The more planning I've done, the more excited I've become about sharing these characters' stories and exploring their dynamics.

But a BIG part of this applyfic is the actual students, and I can't write it without them, because they're the backbone of the story essentially.

Yes, we will be following the adults' lives, but this story is centered around Mr. Aahan and his history class.

I understand that people have school and planning for the holidays, but even just having an idea of how many people would like to apply when they're able to is really helpful.
