"Keesha is dead!"
"What? How? He was the eldest in the pack!"
"Jiheun found him dead behind the alpha's den. Somebody murdered him, but there's not even a trace of a scent left. Not even a clump of fur or hair."
"Bullet wound, or animal?"
"Animal. Obviously a werewolf. The jaw is huge, teeth marks are deep, from a fighter probably."
Seokjin padded back into his camp with Namjoon treading quietly behind, the human looking sleepy but amazed. He had a little piece of paper rolled up in his hands, and Seokjin had a huge bag slung around his shoulder.
The pack all turned to him, but Seokjin paid no mind. He simply set the bag down, and Namjoon splayed the paper out on the ground: a map of stars and constellations and planets. Chatting animatedly to Seokjin, the adorable human continued to talk about the universe and the stars, and pulled out shiny pieces of metal from the bag, and set up his telescope in the middle of camp.
"If you point it there," Namjoon looked over there, "you'll see...and if you point it there! You'll see..."
Seokjin kept droning out, just staring at Namjoon's happy face contently. Seeing the male so happy and passionate about star gazing made his heart swell proudly, but he noticed the murmuring among his pack.
"He brings bad luck."
"He is bad."
"He brings darkness from places we do not wish to receive it from. Take him away!"
"Take him away."
"Take him away!"
"Take him away!"
Seokjin growled. A guttural, vibrating noise that made Namjoon jump. The noise was so powerful, that it was felt in the ground and the chests of those nearby. It made mothers howl in fright and pups hide beneath their nests. Birds nearby flew out of their nests, frightened by the noise.
"What is this I hear of taking away the ancestor's wishes of a mate?" Seokjin hissed, and Namjoon stared amazedly as Seokjin spoke in his old tongue. "Have I not told you imbeciles that this human will be the savior of our pack?"
"But a savior from what?"
"What do we need saving from?"
"Keesha was found dead behind your den, Alpha!"
"If that is not a sign enough that this human boy is danger, then I don't know what is!"
"Take him away!"
"Take him away!"
"Take him away!"
Seokjin's eyes flared golden, a powerful shade of dominance. His body shifted majestically into that of a great, snowy-pelted wolf and he let out a loud, deafening howl. "Silence! I will have enough of this! Healer will speak with our ancestors tonight, and we will all see what they have to say for us about the boy."
"Healer has gone out already."
"She is kissing with the stars tonight."
"And exchanging words with the moon."
"The moon is nearly full!"
"And when she comes back," Seokjin said gruffly, meeting Mei's gaze in the crowd. His spine ruffled, the fur standing on edge, "we will see." He turned to Namjoon and shifted back to his human form, "Come, Namjoon. You will be staying in Jimin's den tonight whilst I wait for Jisoo to come back."
Namjoon looked deflated, leaving his maps and telescope in the middle of camp. Seokjin swung around. "Do not touch the human's things!"
Namjoon frowned. "Jisoo's not here? Where did she go?"
"Tonight is half moon. She has gone out to speak with our ancestors." Seokjin explained.
Namjoon made a humming noise. "Are your ancestors nice?" He asked innocently, padding in after Seokjin as he pushed through some heavy ivy in a well-lit cave. It was warm and toasty inside, and Namjoon hummed.
"Yes. They are...thoughtful." Seokjin said, nudging Namjoon towards a sleepy-looking Jimin. His stomach was bloated and swollen, and he was lounging on a huge pile of soft furs and pelts, while a gigantic brown wolf snored loudly beside him. "Jimin?"
Jimin opened one eye, and it was a light blue. Namjoon stared in awe, because the shade of blue was so pretty that he was surprised to see that shade in Jimin's eyes. "Seokjin? Namjoon? What are you two doing here?" He sat up, his hands on his bare belly.
"Namjoon wanted to pay a visit and stay the night." Seokjin explained, and Jimin smiled. "I'm going to go wait for Jisoo's arrival. Take care of him while I'm gone, I won't be long. The night is young, and Jisoo must've begun her interaction hours ago."
Jimin nodded, rubbing his stomach. "Don't worry~ I'll feed him."
Seokjin bowed his head and gently kissed Namjoon's cheek. The boy flushed and giggled, and Seokjin squeezed Namjoon's thigh. His breath hitched and Seokjin smirked. "I'll be back soon, darling."
"Okie. Be safe, Seokjin~"
Seokjin ruffled his hair and left the cave swiftly, and Namjoon padded over to Jimin and crawled in beside him. "Woah. Your belly's huge!"
"Jisoo said I'm carrying four." Jimin said with a groan as he stood. "It's common for, ah, werewolves to have a lot of kids. In fact, four's kinda little."
Namjoon's eyes bulged. "W-what?"
"It looks weird in our human forms but," Jimin rubbed his tummy, "when you're in wolf form with a litter of eight, it's really not that bad." Jimin sighed and scooped up some hot soup from the canister sitting above the fire in the middle of the room. "You hungry?"
Namjoon plopped down beside him. "Starving."
Jimin handed him the bowl and a fork, and Namjoon began to eat. As he did so, the gigantic wolf stirred from beside Jimin's mountain of pelts, and the form shifted to show a very naked Taehyung, yawning and rubbing his eyes. Namjoon respectfully looked away, but Taehyung was shameless. In fact, all the werewolves here were shameless when it came to nudity.
"Rose, you're up?" Taehyung asked sleepily. "Hey, Namjoon."
Namjoon blinked. "Hi."
"Yes, I am." Jimin said, leaning back and kissing Taehyung briefly. "You hungry? I think there's some leftover deer outside."
Taehyung shook his head. "No, I ate a shit ton at dinner. Why are you two eating so late at night, anyways?"
Jimin munched on a mouthful of cooked rabbit. "We have big appetites~" Jimin giggled.
Taehyung rolled over and pulled out a basket of fruit, popping some weird red berries into his mouth. "Yeah, you do." He agreed teasingly, placing the basket away and sitting up. The male did some stretches, showing off his impressive muscles and Namjoon finished his soup and laid back. "Seokjin taking a dump or something?"
"No, he's waiting for Jisoo," Namjoon explained tiredly. "Ah. I left my telescope equipment outside. I'll be back."
Jimin stood up with a wobble. "I'll help—"
Taehyung pushed him back down. "No. You sit and rest." He looked over at Namjoon, who was already out. "He can manage himself."
Namjoon breathed in the cool night air, relaxing himself as he realized no wolf or human was outside of the camp now. His equipment remained untouched in the middle of camp, and Namjoon ran over to it to pack it up. The huge campfire in the middle of the camp was burning hotly, and Namjoon sighed when he passed it.
He packed up all of his things and sat on a log beside the fire, enjoying the quiet of the night. He watched the fire dance and crackle loudly, and Namjoon closed his eyes.
It was nice. And kinda cool. Who would've thought you'd be able to make a werewolf fall in love with you, and that that werewolf was the alpha of his pack and would steal you away most nights to a beautiful part of the forest as this?
Namjoon giggled to himself. Seokjin was honestly so silly. He was goofy and yet calm and wise and sexy and so cool and handsome that Namjoon was amazed a boy like him would be able to land himself a being as god-like as him.
And yet...He was so busy romanticizing his life and what he was lucky enough to go through he didn't notice the dark colored eyes watching him from afar.
