February 9th.

Today is Jessica's first appointment. Zoe picked Delilah up from school, and Danny will be driving Jessica, of course.

"Hey honey, I'm at the light, about to turn in."

"Okay, I'll wait outside. We're cutting it close."

"I think we'll be okay."

"Alright, just be careful. I'll see you in a second."

"Okay. Bye, beautiful."

"Bye.."

Jessica hung up, tossed her phone in her purse, and walked out the front door.
She was very nervous about this visit, for many reasons. For one, she didn't know how she would react when seeing the baby, or hearing their heartbeat. Second, she was worried that something would be wrong, or there wouldn't be a heartbeat at all. Jessica just wanted today to be over.

"Ms. Lange."

Jessica took a deep breath and stood up to follow the nurse.  She was a bundle of nerves, while Danny was full of excitement.

Once she got situated and passed the usual questions, it was time to wait for her doctor.

"You okay, baby?" Danny asks.

Jessica sighs.
"Yeah.. I'm fine.  Just nervous."

"Everything is going to be fine." Danny said with a soft smile.

"I'm just excited to see the little peanut!  How far along do you think you are?"

"Like eight weeks.."

"Wow!  This is so exciting."

"Yeah.."

Just then the doctor enters.

"Hello!  How are you two?"

"Pretty good.. just a little nervous."

"She's nervous.  I'm pumped!" Danny smiles.

Jessica rolls her eyes and laughs.

"Well let's get to the fun part!  Go ahead and lay back, please."

"Sure.." Jessica lays back and lifts her shirt.

"First I'm going to listen for a heartbeat.  Please don't panic if we can't pick it up right away.  That might mean the baby is simply too small.  No reason to worry." He smiles.

"Okay.."

Jessica bit her thumb nail, anxiously waiting to hear a beat.

Suddenly they all heard a strong heartbeat.

"Oh wow! What a beautiful rhythm!" Danny smiles.

Jessica immediately covered her face and began crying. Memories came back to her. She felt she were just here for Nolan. He was this tiny little spec of life growing inside of her. A life that would change her entire world for the better.

Jessica loved him from the moment she found out he was inside of her. She would do absolutely anything for him.

Jessica's heart heart so badly when she thought of this little baby not being her Nolan.

Suddenly she was pulled from her thoughts.
She felt a hand on her shoulder and she looked up.

"Honey, it's okay."

"It's not him.."

"No, it's not. But it is his baby brother or sister that he sent down for us to love. This is his gift to you, Jessica."

Jessica cried a little more and looked down to her flat stomach.

"Do you want to see the baby? Or do you think it's too much?"

"No. No, I want to see it."

Danny softly kissed her temple and gave her a small smile.

"Oh wow.. there it is." Jessica chuckled.

"It's so tiny!" Danny kisses her cheek then said, "Oh my gosh that's a baby! We're having a baby!"

"Heh.. crazy.."

"I love you, Jessica. I love you so so much."

"I love you too, Danny.."

Danny smiles and grabbed her hand.
He then leaned forward and kissed her lips softly.

As the weeks went on, Jessica felt less upset about this baby, and a little happier. She was still struggling, but it was getting much better.

It is now April 6th, and Jessica is 14 weeks pregnant.

"Good morning, Ms. Jessica!  It's a beautiful morning, isn't it?" Delilah smiles.

"Haha!  Yes, it's lovely!

Danny looks around then smiles at Jessica.
"Good morning, Ms. Lange."

"Good morning Mr. Huston."

"How is that little gift I gave you?"

"What?"

Danny points to her stomach and mouths Baby.

"Stop!"

"Jess.."

"Your gift is fine, now leave!"

"Let me see your belly."

"Will you please leave before someone hears you?
My belly will be there later, don't worry." Jessica tugs on the front of her blouse.

"Fine.  I love you!"

Jessica turns and gives him a look.

"I know that mean look means I love you too."

Jessica giggles then watches Danny kiss Delilah.
He was such a sweet father.  It warmed her heart.

After school Danny called Jessica. The two spoke sitting in their cars right across from each other.

"What are you doing asking about the little gift during school hours?"

"I'm a concerned.. gift giver." Danny smiles and gives her a wink.

"Gifts?!  Is it for me?" Delilah shouts with excitement as she listens to their conversation.

"Yeah! It is, actually!" Danny smiles.

"Yay!  Thank you, Daddy!  Thank you, Miss Jessie!"

"You're welcome, sweetie pie!" Jessica giggles.

Jessica wished she and Danny could tell Delilah, but I was just way too risky.  She could not risk losing her job.

15 weeks pregnant.

"You're here!" Danny let Jessica into the house, and immediately kissed her lips.

"Delilah is napping.  Let me see that belly!" He lifts her shirt.

Jessica giggles. "It's really poking out, huh?"

"Yeah! Wow!"

"It's getting harder and harder to hide."

"It's so so beautiful!" Danny kisses her bare skin.

Jessica smiles and plays with his hair.

"Daddy?"

Jessica gasps and quickly pulls her shirt down.

"Hi, Delilah!" They both turn to her and smile awkwardly.

"Why are you kissing Ms. Jessica's tummy?"

"Oh uh.. because she has a belly ache!" Danny says with a nervous chuckle.

"Oh no! Poor Ms. Jessica!"

"I'll be okay, pretty girl." Jessica smiles.

"Ooh I love your Princess outfit!" She quickly changes the subject.

"Thanks! I dressed myself!" Delilah twirls around.

"Well you did a great job! You look beautiful!"

"Thank you! You look beautiful too!"

"Thank you, love!"

"You're welcome! Now, you guys stay here! We can have a tea party! Let me get everything ready!"

Jessica giggles and says, "Sounds fun, pretty girl! Just let us know when you're ready!"

"Okay!" Delilah runs out of the room, leaving Danny and Jessica alone."

Danny places his hand on her back, and another on her stomach.

"You better, stop! You got caught once already!"

"Ugh! I just want to talk to the baby, and love on the baby whenever I want! I'm tired of hiding it!"

"I know.."

"Let's take a trip! Your birthday is coming up, so we're taking a trip! Just you, me.. and baby of course!" Danny chuckles.

"Really?!" Jessica smiles.

"Yeah! Then you and I can touch any body part we want, at any time of the day!"

Jessica makes a face and laughs.

"You know what I mean!"

Jessica laughs and asks, "So where are you taking me?"

"Wherever you want, my dear." Danny smiles.

"Hmmm.. Paris?" She smiles cutely.

"Smaller, my dear. We only have a couple days to ourselves."

Jessica laughs.
"How about New Orleans? It's only a few hours away."

"New Orleans it is, my love."

"Yay!"

Danny and Jessica then shared a soft kiss before they were once again interrupted. Only this time it wasn't Delilah.

"What's wrong?!" Danny panicked when he heard Jessica gasp.

"I think I just felt the baby move!" She places her hands on her bump as she stares down with wide eyes.

"Oh my gosh, you did?!"

"Yeah.." Jessica says as tears begin to fall.

"Aw honey.." Danny softly caresses his thumb on her cheek.

"I'm sorry, it's just a lot.. this is so special and.. I remember feeling this for the first time with Nolan.
I just miss him so much."

Danny wraps his arms around her and rubs her back. "I know it's hard, baby."

"I wish he were here.. he would be so excited for his little sibling."

"He's playing with him right now, babe! He's gettin him pumped and telling him how awesome of a mommy he's going to get!" Danny smiles.

"Him?"

"Just a hunch." Danny smiles and shrugs.

"I hope it's a girl.. I would love the baby no matter what but.. I just don't know what I would do having another son.. it would be so hard.."

So I had my mind set, it was going to be a boy.
Jessica would have a hard time, blah, blah, blah!
Then I changed my mind and I thought another daddy's girl! Now I'm back to not knowing what to do!
