August 12th.
32 weeks pregnant.

With two months before the baby arrives, Jessica has decided to step back from her full time job.
Instead she has accepted a substitute position.

Of course, Delilah prayed and prayed for her teacher to be out sick so Jessica could be there on her first day of school.

"JESSICA!" Delilah shouted.

Jessica laughed and turned to Delilah who walked into the kitchen. Delilah usually calls her, "Mommy" so she was surprised when she called her by her name.

"Can I help you?"

"Call the mean teacher and tell her you'll teach so she can stay home."

"That's not how this works, sweetheart."

"But mommyyyyy!" Delilah whines.

"Oh it's mommy again?"

"I had to get your attention!" She shrugs.

Jessica chuckles and walks over with a plate of food.
"You always have my attention, baby girl." She kisses her forehead and places the plate in front of her.

"I'm just gonna miss you and baby sister so much!" Delilah grabs onto Jessica's belly and presses her cheek against it.

"Um! Excuse me!" Danny says.

"Daddy, where did you come from?!"

"I was listening! You're not gonna miss me?"

"I will.. but I'm used to having Miss Jessie with me at school.." She pouts.

"And now my baby sister." Delilah softly rubs Jessica's bump.

"Oh sweet baby!" Jessica melts.

"You'll be okay!  It'll be fun!
  And guess what!"

"What?" Delilah says.  A pout still on her face.

"I'll make whatever you want for dinner!"

"Really?"

"Really!  Whatever your little tastebuds are feeling." Jessica smiles.

"Okay!
  I'll take hot dogs!"

"Hot dogs?" Jessica makes a face.

"Yes!  That's what I would love for my first day of school!"

"Uhh.. well okay.. hot dogs it is.."

"YAY!  Thank you, mommy!" Delilah squeezes her and kisses her belly.

"You're welcome, baby."

"Bye, Daddy.  Have a good day at work.. Bye, mommy.  Rest up until it's time to make my hot dogs."

"I will, Didi.  Have a good day!"

"I'll try.." Delilah sighs.

Danny chuckles and takes Jessica's hand.
"Look at my little first grader." He smiles softly.

"She'll have fun!"

"Yeah, I know she will."

Soon the two were off.
Just as they walked out of the school Jessica began to cry.

"Honey, what's wrong?" Danny turns to her.

"I want to teach my baby!  I don't want her to have mean Ms. Parker!"

"Aw Jessie, but you even said it yourself!  She's going to have so much fun!"

"Not as much fun as she had with me!"

"I know, baby.  That's true.  But hey!  You have her at home!  You're momma! You still get to see her!"

"I know.. But I'm still sad!"

"I know.. is baby girl making you weepy?" Danny rubs her tummy.

"Maybe.. Do you have to go to work?"

"I'm afraid so, baby girl. I'm sorry."

"I have to be all alone today!" Jessica whines and pouts her lips.

"Call your mom and go somewhere with her!"

"No, I'm not in the mood.
.. I'll just go home and clean up a bit."

"Don't overdo it though."

"I'll be fine. Go on. Go to work!" Jessica rolls her eyes.

"I'm sorry."

"It's fine." She sighs.

"Okay.." Danny pouts just before he kisses her lips.

"I love you, beautiful."

"I love you too."

"And I love you, Nyla."

Nyla kicks making him chuckle.
"Bye bye, beautiful baby!  And bye bye, Mommy!
  Have a good day, sweets.  I'll call you during lunch."

"Okay.."

Once Jessica got home, she was too exhausted to clean like she planned. So instead, she decided to lay down and rest for a few minutes.

"Mommy! Mommy! Wake up!"

"Hm?"

"MOMMY!"

Jessica sits up and opens her eyes.
She then gasps and grabs the child she sees in front of her.

"NOLAN!"

"Hi, mommy!"

"My baby!  Oh my goodness!  Nolan!  How are you here?!  Oh it doesn't matter!  All that matters is that you're here!  My baby's here!" Jessica was now sobbing.

"Mommy!" Nolan laughed and pulled himself off of her chest.

He then smiles and holds her cheeks in his hands.
"Wow! Look how pretty you look, Mommy!"

"Aw, my Nolan! Honey, you're back! Oh my goodness, I missed you so much!"

"Well I've been right here every single day, silly butt!"

"You have?" Jessica smiles.
"No.. I-I know you have.. I can feel you. Everyday."

"Yep! Mommy, I've seen you do some really weird things with Danny.." Nolan makes a face.

"Oh goodness, Nolan, don't watch that!"

"Trust me, I try not to!"

Jessica laughs and looks into his beautiful blue eyes.
"My baby boy!"

"Hi mommy!" Nolan smiles and waves.

Jessica giggles and kisses his cheek.

"So! How do you like Danny? I picked him out special for you!"

"Aw baby, you did?!"

"Yeah! Well I had help from my friend Grace! She used to be married to him!  Silly, huh?"

"Grace?"

"Yep!  I love her so much!  She takes care of me, mommy."

"Oh.. that's great, baby!" Jessica smiled.  Even though it broke Jessica's heart to know she wasn't the one who gets to take care of him, she was so relieved to know that it was Grace who was taking care of him for her.

"Don't worry, mommy!  I still love you the most!"

"Aw baby." Jessica smiles. "I love you the most." She tears up.

"But to answer your question, I LOVE Danny!  He's so great!  Thank you so much for sending him to me" Jessica smiles.

"You're welcome!  Me and Grace worked so hard to get you and Danny together!"

"Aw, you did?  You two are a great team, huh?"

"Mhm!  And mommy!  Grace wants me to thank you."

"She wants you to thank me?"

"Yeah!  For taking care of Didi!  My little sister!" Nolan smiles.

"Oh!  How sweet!  Tell her you're welcome!  Tell her she has such a beautiful daughter.  Inside and out.
.. I don't know what I'd do without her."

Nolan smiles and says, "You're taking care of each other's babies!  How fun!" He giggles.

"I know!  So you're not upset that I have Didi?  Or that Danny and I are having a baby?"

"Why would I be upset, silly girl?!" Nolan says cutely.

"I don't know.. I'm just always worried that you are."

"NO!" He laughs.

"Like I said, Mommy!  I sent them to you!  And, I know maybe you weren't planning on having baby sister for a long time, buuuut.. well I told Jesus I wanted a baby sister!  So.. oops!" He smiles cutely.

Jessica giggles and hugs him once again.

"She was a shock, of course.. but I'm so so happy and excited to have her!"

"She's gonna be cute!" Nolan says relaxing on the bed.

Jessica smiles and lays beside him.
She places her hand on his stomach and says, "As cute as you?"

"Ah.. almost!"

Jessica laughs and kisses his cheek.

"Oh gosh, I've missed you so much, baby!"

"I know." Nolan smiles.
He then places his hands on his mother's belly.

"We play together all the time!" Nolan giggles as his sister squirms around.

"Aw you do?"

"Yep!  She loves me.. and she'll love sissy too." Nolan smiles.

"Good baby..  I'm so happy!"

"Me too.. Mommy?"

"Yes, my prince?"

"Let's just cuddle.  You know, like we used to."

"Of course!  Oh gosh, I miss your cuddles, Nolan."

"I know, mommy.  Now shh!"

"Okay, I'm sorry!" Jessica laughs.
