Chapter 17: Image

Jungkook's POV:

I lied on the floor with blood oozing from my mouth. My entire body ached from the lashes on my back.

"You're such a fucking disappointment!" He kicked my ribs causing me to cough uncontrollably. "Now go to your room, and don't come out until I tell you to." He spat in my face. I struggled to get to my feet as the pain was unbearable. He hadn't beaten me this bad in a while.

I managed to ignore the pain long enough to make it to my room. I hate living in this family. I hate being in this house. I hate having to pretend that I'm ok, when I'm really not. I hate the image that I have to uphold. I lied down on my side facing my night stand. Those pills were starting right back at me.

Those pills are for crazy people, and I'm not crazy. I just want love. I grabbed them and forcefully threw them in the trash. After I lied back down, I pulled up a picture of Jimin on my phone. He's so beautiful. He's gonna be mine.

"Don't worry Jiminie. I'm gonna save us both. We'll be together soon. I love you." I said while caressing his lips with my thumb.

Author's POV:

Jimin was handing out the music exam to his class when there was a knock on the door. He went over to open it finding two police officers at the door.

"You all get started. I'll be right back." He addressed the class before walking out, shutting the door behind him. "Why are you here? Is there something wrong with my case?" Jimin furrowed his brow in confusion. 'Why would they show up at my job? It has to be important if they have.' He thought.

"Sir we are going to need you to come with us." They began cuffing him, and he started to struggle while looking at them in disbelief.

"Hey what's going on?!" They didn't answer. "Are the cuffs really necessary?!" He frowned.

"Yes sir they are." He was dragged out by the officers, earning some curious looks from students who were still in the hall. He felt embarrassed of what people would think. He isn't the one who was wrong. This is going to definitely taint his image at this school. They shoved him into the back of the car like he was a criminal, and pulled off. Jimin huffed in frustration.

"Can one of you please tell me what the fuck is going on?!"

"You're wanted at the station." The cop on the passenger side answered.

"You could have just told me that! I would have happily gone with you! Why did you have to drag me out like that in front of everyone!" He shouted.

"Sir please calm down. We were just doing our jobs." The cop driving replied.

"No I will not calm down! Especially after you did that without a valid reason, and just saying I'm needed isn't enough. I'm the victim here!"

"As he said we're just doing our job. You can take it up with our boss. He's the one who sent us only stating that you were needed. If we knew more, we would say more." The passengers side cop tried reasoning. Jimin just stayed silent the rest of the ride. When the arrived, the officers got him out of the car and brought him to an interrogation room.

"In case you haven't eaten yet, there are some leftover cookies we had the other day." The officer referred to hard, crusted, old looking cookies that sat at the corner of the table. Jimin looked at the cookies then back at the officer.

"No thanks." Even if the cookies did look eatable, he didn't really feel like eating anything at this moment. He wanted to know what was happening. The officer nodded and left. A few moments later, the policeman he talked to yesterday entered.

"Hello Jimin. I'm sure there are many questions running through your mind right now, and I'll be happy to answer them." He sat in the seat across from him.

"What's going on? Why am I here? Why did you cuff me?"

"Well as you know, we reviewed your case."

"Yes. And?" Jimin sat up with a glimmer of hope in his eyes.

"And we called in the accused to get a statement from him."

"You what?! Why do you need his statement when I already told you what happened." Jimin felt his stomach churning.

"We can't just arrest someone off of your word alone. We have to hear both sides of the story. It's only fair unless there's something you don't want us to know." The officer spoke in a patronizing tone.

"Why would there be? I'm just scared that he will retaliate. I wish you would have told me before that's all, but what did he say? Is he the reason you've arrested me?"

"No we arrested you off of his and your own words."

"My own words? What did I say?" Jimin furrowed his brow confused as to how he would get himself arrested.

"The kiss. You stated that their was a kiss between you two. Jungkook said that it was true, but he told us a different story."

"It was a forced kiss!"

"He said that you gave into the kiss so he thought it was ok. Even if there was a misunderstanding, you're an adult, he's a minor. Letting him kiss you is enough to incriminate you." Jimin's mouth hung open in shock. He couldn't believe what he was hearing.

"He also said that you went to dinner with him one day after school. The two of you.. alone. Is that correct?" Jimin just stared at his lap as he nodded his head. "Don't you think that might have been a little inappropriate?" Tears threatened to escape his eyes as Jimin thought back on that encounter.

Somehow he couldn't help but think that this whole thing is his fault for not stopping it as soon as it began. "Do you know what I think?" Jimin looked up at the cop who was now leaning over him. "I think that you did have an affair with your student, but then you felt guilty and tried to break it off. He didn't want to do that, so you care here and tried to get him arrested."

"That's not true!" Jimin tried to deny the accusations.

"Prove me wrong then by answering this question! Why didn't you call the police when he supposedly broke into your house?" The officer narrowed his eyes as he bit into one of the cookies that were there.

"Because I.. I was.."

"You were too busy kissing him? Is that it?" He cut him off. Jimin gulped as he was starting to think that he is the one on trial now.

"No I was shocked he was there."

"And after he left? What was stopping you from calling?" The officer frowned.

"My husband showed up."

"He caught you fooling around?"

"No! Jungkook left before then."

"Did you tell your husband he was there?"

"N-No."

"Why not? That sounds like valid information he should know." Jimin just stayed silent after realizing that everything he was saying was just digging him deeper and deeper into a hole he didn't want to be in. "Jimin, if we go to your house right now would we find any signs of forced entry?"

"No. He had a key."

"So you are telling me that he has a key to your house, but you haven't had any willing relations with him?" The man asked in disbelief.

"Y-yes."

"Then why does he have a key? How did he get it." The officer continued to drill him.

"I don't know!" Jimin burst into tears. He has never been in a situation like this. He was even starting to question himself. He buried his face into his hands failing to notice the man smirking at him. This is what the officer planned all along. He wanted Jimin to doubt himself. That would give him room to infiltrate his mind and get him to back off, or better, confess to a crime he didn't commit.

"I think that's enough for today. Unfortunately we are going to have to keep you here under surveillance in case you try to make a run for it."

"Why would I run? I'm not guilty." Jimin looked up again with puffy red eyes. The policeman ignored his attempts and proceeded to call the officers who where standing outside to come in.

"Officer Choi and Officer Yun can you please escort Jimin here to one of the holding cells please?"

"Wait! What?! No! I'm not guilty! Let me go!" Jimin shouted as the two men dragged him away.
