Muichiro's pov

I was sitting in class, struggling to pay attention to the lesson once again. It seemed so hard, trying to keep focused and be productive during the lesson.

I sighed and eventually gave up, laying my arms on the desk in front of me and resting my head on them, looking out of the window.

After a while I was interrupted by someone slamming their hand on the desk right in front of me, making me flinch.

I looked up to see Yuichiro "you scared me" I said quietly, rubbing my eyes.

"Did you pay attention in class?" Yuichiro asked immediately with a slightly annoyed tone.

"O-Of course I did" I replied, not wanting to make Yuichiro mad again. Yuichiro sighed and asked "if you were indeed paying attention, when is the next test?"

"Test? You can be serious" I thought and was about to answer, trying to get it correct but Yuichiro interrupted me "it's tomorrow, if you paid attention you would know.. and you clearly didn't"

"Sorry.. " I apologized quietly "but now that I know about it, I promise I'll try! I will study for it" I said with a slightly higher voice, trying to reassure Yuichiro that I will actually try harder this time.

"You promised that many times Muichiro and we both know how that ended" he sighed "but alright, I'll give you one more chance, but promise me to actually try"

I repeatedly nodded "y-yes! I promise!" I said with a smile.

"Very well then" Yuichiro said and went back to his desk. My smile then immediately faded. I sighed and looked away, being worried about the test.

I studied for every test, I was studying so hard but every time i forgot everything. My memory is terrible, I couldn't remember anything.

I clenched my fists and thought "I will try again, I won't disappoint Yuichiro again" I said, being confident in myself once again.

…

Once I got home I took my shoes off and quickly walked into my room, trying not to be noticed by anyone.

I quietly closed the door to my room behind me and went to sit at my table and took out my history book, beginning to study.

Seconds, minutes, hours passed and I was starting to lose it. I read the notes over and over again, not being able to repeat the sentence ten minutes later.

"Maybe I should ask Yui for help.. I can't do this alone" I thought and stood up, heading into Yuichiro's room.

I peeked inside the room to see Yuichiro sitting on the bed. "Yui, can you please help me study for the test?" I asked, closing the door behind me, holding my textbook close to my chest.

Yuichiro let out a sigh "you should try studying it alone"

"I tried! I really did!.. I just really can't remember anything.." I replied and sat down on the bed next to Yuichiro "pleasee?"

"Alright alright, I'll help" he said and I tightly hugged him "thank you Yui!*

"Yea yea it's no problem, now try to read this paragraph, repeat it out loud and then try to say it without reading it"

I nodded and began to read the paragraph. I read it five times before I tried to say it without reading it which I managed but just ten minutes later it seemed impossible for me to even repeat the first sentence.

"Okay, let's try something else, read this multiple times and then write all the things you remember on a paper, then later try to write it again to see if you remember something more" Yuichiro said, trying his best to help me.

I did the same thing he said, writing all the notes I managed to remember and then reading it again, later on trying to write it again which seemed even more difficult.

"Okay, let's take a break, you are probably tired" Yuichiro said and grabbed his phone, turning it on. I shook my head "I can't.. I need to study, if I get another bad grade.. I.." I stopped, not wanting to say that I am very close to failing multiple classes.

"Let's try it again later, okay? The dinner is soon anyway so you can study again after" Yuichiro said, probably already tired of trying to make me remember everything.

I nodded and left the room, being disappointed in myself and my memory once again.

Next day

I sat in class, reading the notes over and over again, panicking slightly. I studied almost the whole night but I could only remember a couple things that were not enough for me to get a good grade.

The teacher walked into the room and immediately started talking about the test before handing us papers with questions.

She came over to me and asked "did you study?"

I nodded slightly, "I tried.."

"That's good, your grades are terrible, if you fail this test as well.. you know what will happen" she said, making me even more nervous.

During the test I was trying my best to remember but I couldn't. I only sat there, staring at the paper, holding back tears.

I tried so hard, I was studying for hours and I have only two questions out of twelve filled!

I just sighed and put down my pen, giving up, being reconciled with the fact that I will disappoint Yui once again.

…

"So, how did you do on the test?" Yuichiro asked me and sat down at my desk. I just looked down, not wanting to say anything, not wanting to make Yui mad.

"Come on, tell me, you must have done good, you studied for so long yesterday" Yuichiro said and I just shook my head "no.. I did terribly, I don't know why.. I just.. can't remember anything"

"Oh.. well maybe you did good, let's wait until you get your grade and then we'll talk about it, okay?"

"Okay.." I replied with a sigh.

2 days later

I stared at the test, seeing my grade. "D… I got a D after working so hard.." I thought and just buried my face into my palms, sighing.

After the lesson Yuichiro immediately walked over to me and before he could say anything I just showed him the test.

He sighed "a D? Did you even try to write something there?"

"I did, I really tried.. I just can't remember anything"

"Well, you did study a lot, maybe you just need someone to help you with that.. I am not good at that, so what do you think about getting a tutor?"

"A tutor..? I mean.. it's the last thing that I can try.. I can't get another bad grade.." I said quietly.

"Alright, just don't be sad over it, you tried your best" Yuichiro said and patted my head before leaving.

Next day

I was laying on my bed when Yuichiro suddenly walked into the room, saying "okay I found a tutor for you, he'll wait for you in the library in front of school, bring anything he can help you with"

I nodded and stood up, putting my books back into my bag before heading into the library.

I was quite nervous to meet him. "What if he's mean.. or impatient? Maybe after a couple hours he'll just give up on me.." I thought and sighed, just hoping he'll be nice.

…

When I got to the library I looked around for the person who was supposed to tutor me.

Suddenly someone tapped on my shoulder. I immediately turned around to look for who it was.

It was one of my classmates, I never talked to this person, ever but at least it was someone I knew somehow..

His name was Genya Shinazugawa.
