That morning Paola woke up with Luke still embracing her which made her blush suddenly. She was so happy that she finally opened up to him and discovered something incredibly new. On the contrary ... she didn't think she could do it at all since that was her first time but ... she found it pleasant and being next to Luke made her happy as never before. She got up slowly trying not to make too much noise and turned to take a last look at her boyfriend and then went to the bathroom to get dressed. Before putting on his clean clothes he ran the water to take a hot shower but before entering he heard a knock on the door hearing the calm and gentle voice of the redhead.

"Paola, are you all right?"

"Oh uh yes yes Luke don't worry".

"Safety?" "Do you want me to come in?"

Suddenly she started to get all red in the face and cheeks had not even had a fever and froze not responding for a while almost as if hypnotized by those words. He stayed like that for a couple of minutes until he felt the doorknob start to turn and he literally panicked. It was true the red had already seen without clothes but .... she did not want him to enter just at that moment as she would have felt too embarrassed. Yesterday everything had been perfect but now she wanted to be a little quieter.

"No no Luke goes ... uh everything's fine can you really wait outside?"

As soon as she made sure that Luke was not yet in front of the door she finished getting ready to run the water on her body and hair starting to sing from time to time, once she was finished she took from the backpack the things to put on which consisted of leggings clear and an orange t-shirt and luckily she had prepared everything the previous day before reaching Luke  in Jericho otherwise she would have had to keep the exact same clothes all the time and she couldn't bear to do it since she always loved putting on something new. Once she settled down with care and tied her hair she opened the door going to hug her boyfriend.

"I'm sorry if I made you wait".

The girl took Luke by the hand trying not to blush and not to look like a tomato and then walked away with him from the hotel. Luckily the hotel wasn't too far away so it wouldn't take them very long to get there as he wanted to tell Adam how it went. She did not stop letting go of the boy's hand for any reason given that finally after having been through so many and after so many sacrifices they were able to be together but also because she did not want anything bad to happen to him and swore to herself that she would protect him at any cost. . Finally when Paola read the word "Jericho" in front of them she felt more relieved as they had arrived so she started running until she found the spot where the others were, approaching the smallest of the group to hug him and then noticing that everyone had an expression more different than usual more here ... sad and melancholy. Seeing her friends in that state a lump went up in her throat and she tried not to get a panic attack because if they were all like that, things were more serious than expected. She began to watch the rest of the group until Adam motioned for her to follow. Even more confused she just did what she had asked him not understanding anything until Adam invited her to sit down.

"Things are not going well: we have heard the news and it seems that people are not willing to listen to us". "They think that we are more and more a danger to them and they have not in the least understood what we wanted." "They intend to destroy Paola".

At the word "destroy us" she immediately felt her eyes start to pinch, her lip shake a little and as a result her eyes became wet and red until the tears started running down her face. He couldn't believe it! After all, what people had done persisted in not wanting to understand. She didn't want to risk losing her friends the people most important to her right now and especially her Luke. He had really done so much to help them and now? What had they arrived at? Nothing? But how could people be so numb towards those who are different? She just didn't understand him. She began pacing back and forth continuously more and more nervous when a last solution came to her. He went to Adam's ear saying everything in a low voice seeing him smile again.

"I want to go with you this time."

"Thing?" "It would be risky and then someone has to keep Billy company."

"I can always call my friend and tell her to come here."

Adam sighed and agreed noticing how much determination she had in that moment.

Having said this, she began to dial Sabrina's number and then press the call button waiting for about ten minutes for her to deign to answer. When she heard her voice she tried to keep calm by explaining everything to her best friend trying to make her understand as much as possible. Once she had told her everything there was to understand, she sat next to Adam to wait impatiently since in the face of such a situation he just could not keep calm.

Adam thanked her by giving her a smile and then looking at her more and more curious.

"So tell me to lighten the situation a bit .... how did it go between you and Luke?"

Being caught off guard she nearly choked on her own saliva.

"Well at first yes but then I calmed down".

To save her from that embarrassing situation that had arisen was Sabrina who arrived after a while.

Once she left the child with her friend, she and the best of them went to the place where he made their next mission. SHe felt slightly guilty for calling Sabrina just to keep the little one company but she had to help his friends at all costs at the time. Once she figured out what to do she thought about eliminating the drone and the security alarm and then making the next moves being careful to stick to the plan with the others. Luke thought about blocking the road so that there were no complications and then took the truck together with Paola to enter the shop where all the other androids were. The girl watched her boyfriend all the time while he somehow awakened the androids and warned him to follow him and listen to him. She was so proud of what she had made him become, as it was also because of her and I am most amazed that she was proving to be a good leader. After Luke finished, the two left the shop and reunited with the others, starting to put up various signs and brand the city to send a peaceful message to all the people of Detroit without using any kind of violence. Adam, Aiden and Luke took some time but in the end they managed to complete the mission by also bypassing the police so that no one was injured.

"Let's hope this works," the girl whispered to Luke.

"Whichever way it goes, we won't give up and we'll never stop fighting, right?"

"Maybe you're right we can't do it." "We will go on until the end".

Luke hearing her speak like this, sent her a kiss on the cheek.
"I want you like that". "And remember that if in the end we will be saved it will only be thanks to you"

"M-mine?" "But I didn't do anything"

"Paola you have always helped us since we collided that time in Jericho and you continue to do so". "So please stop underestimating yourself and talking nonsense, okay?"

"But ... but I don't ..."

"Nothing but, okay?" "In the end we will do it even if it will take a while you will see".
