Chapter Twenty-Six
Recently, whenever Lawson went to play tennis, Sean tagged along as the official ball-thrower. It was something Lawson insisted he didn't have to do, but Sean was more than content to stand across the net from him and "watch him be all sexy and serious" - words straight from Sean's mouth.
Three weekends before winter break, they found themselves out on the court, trying to exercise off all the stress that accompanied exam prep. It wasn't exactly working, but it was nice to be together, just the two of them doing something other than studying, though Lawson had been informed by Nathan earlier in the day that him and Glenn would be joining them.
That would probably be good for Lawson's tennis. Maybe then he would actually push himself, rather than allowing himself to get distracted by Sean every couple of minutes. He was, for once, wearing athletic clothes that matched- navy and dark grey- and he looked absolutely fantastic with his wind blown hair and easy smile. How could Lawson not get distracted?
"Stop looking at me," Sean demanded as Lawson hit another ball into the net. "I think I'm making you worse".
"I can't just not look at you," Lawson pointed out. "You're in my direct line of sight. And your cloths match".
"Shut up," Sean demanded, but he was smiling. He braced his hands on the net in front of him and leaned forwards against it, expression teasing. "Would you like me to remove an item of clothing then?
For a moment, Lawson just studied him with wide eyes. He had to be talking about his shirt, since simply standing there in his briefs would be weird, and also distracting. Of course, by removing his shirt he would be displaying his back, which along with being gorgeously toned, had several scratch marks, courtesy of Lawson a few nights ago. Seeing them would most definitely make his mind wander, though instead of thinking about what they could be doing, Lawson would be thinking of what they already had done and thoroughly enjoyed. Not a good choice.
"You removing your clothes would make this situation one million times worse, I promise you," Lawson assured, and Sean snorted before moving back to the hopper of balls. "I'll try to focus more. Sorry coach".
Sean made and amused face before throwing a ball to the far end of the court, forcing Lawson to run for it.
Somehow, Lawson was able to focus on something other than his boyfriend, and managed to return a handful of decent balls before he made another distracted error.
It wasn't Sean's fault this time.
"What the fuck," he managed to get out before the boy he was surprised to see was leaving Nathan's side and barreling towards him. "What are you doing? No no no. Jean-" despite Lawson's protests, the taller boy wrapped him in his arms, hugging him tightly as Lawson struggled to get away.
"You miss me?" Jean taunted, laughing as Lawson finally managed to get away from him. Once free, he put distance between the two of them, and glared forcefully. "I'll take that as a yes".
"You shouldn't".
Jean wasn't paying attention to him anymore. His green eyes had slid off to the side, and he was looking at Sean- who had at some point rounded the net- with great interest. Suddenly, Lawson wished his boyfriend hadn't managed to match his clothing. "And who are-"
"No," Lawson cut in, moving himself between the two of them protectively. "Don't look at him like that".
Jean's eyebrows raised. "Why not?"
"He's my boyfriend to start off, and his name is Sean, which rhymes with Jean, so it would be impossible to come up with a couple name for the two of you," Lawson explained. From behind him, Sean chuckled, and then warm arms were wrapping around his waist and he was eased back into a warm chest.
Jean's eyebrows shot up. "You have a boyfriend?"
"What did I just say," Lawson groaned, annoyed. Laughing, Jean moved forward to ruffle his hair before addressing Sean.
"Hello Sean Lawson's boyfriend who I did not know existed. It's nice to meet you. How do you put up with this idiot all the time?" Jean asked, and Lawson scowled at the other boy as Sean chuckled.
"Quite easily," he responded smoothly, and then one of his hands moved from Lawson's waist to shake Jean's hand. "You're the other tennis player, right?"
"This is correct," Jean answered. Lawson shot a glare over to Nathan and Glenn, hoping to show the two of them that he was greatly displeased with Jean's unexpected arrival, but they were unsurprisingly too caught up with one another to notice the gaze, talking softly and laughing with their heads close together. "I know, it's disgusting right?" Apparently Lawson's staring had been noticed. "Though this whole back hug thing you got going here is also kind of gross".
With a huff, Lawson brought his gaze back to Jean. "Why are you even here? Shouldn't you be studying for exams?"
"Those aren't for two more weeks for me. I'm fine. I actually wanted to come and visit Nathan, and catch up. I have a lot of new stories to tell him, you know," Jean claimed, and the way he said stories made Lawson grimace.
"You're disgusting".
"Instead of being a douche, could you do something else?" Jean inquired, tilting his head down to meet Lawson's eyes. He hated how tall he was. It was unfair.
"What?"
"Play me in a match?"
***
Jean hadn't played since the end of their last season, so he was rusty, but that wasn't to say it wasn't still a challenge. Years of intense practice didn't go away in twelve months.
Despite the difficulties, Lawson really wanted to win. He was desperate to, especially since he could feel Sean's eyes on him the entire time he played, noticing his every move and every mistake.
It was an intense match- it always was with the two of them- and Lawson could feel the sweat running down his temples, but still he grinned. He hadn't played an actual match since Jean had moved. It felt absolutely wonderful.
It was when Lawson pulled out the one handed backhand to score a game point down the line that Jean threw his head back and laughed. "You've been practicing, Murphy," Jean called. "I'm proud of you. My Protégé".
"Shut your face and give me the ball," Lawson instructed, though he was smiling. "It's my serve".
"Lord help me".
The final score was 6-4, 7-5, and after winning Lawson hugged Jean over the net with a laugh before going over to where Sean had been watching by the net post and laying down with his boyfriend's head in his lap. "I won just for you," Lawson assured, and Sean smiled as he pressed a water bottle against Lawson's lips. Obeying, he drank.
"I'm kind of angry with you," Sean said once he had finished drinking. Lawson's eyes widened. "You've been going easy on me".
Lawson laughed, and then turned his face to press it into Sean's abdomen. "You know, when I stand up they're will most definitely be an outline of me in sweat".
"That's really disgusting," Sean observed, but he didn't really seem repulsed by the idea since he immediately pushed his hand through Lawson's sweaty hair.
Jean joined them then, taking a seat next to Sean but facing the opposite direction, where Nathan and Glenn were playing a one on one game that consisted mostly of laughing. Lawson tipped his head back as far as he could to look at the other boy. "Do you miss it?"
Green eyes moved down to look at him, squinting a little with the sun in his face. "Not really, actually. I mean, it's nice to play every once and awhile, because I'm good at it, but it also brings back memories".
Jean looked away then, and Lawson chewed his lip, studying his friend for a second longer before looking up at Sean. His boyfriend was already looking down at him, and Lawson grinned, raising a hand to press his fingers against Sean's lips. He kissed his fingertips.
"You play any sports, Sean?" Jean asked, probably just to make conversation.
"Hockey," he answered, not looking away from Lawson. Jean snorted.
"That's badass, man".
"Hey," Lawson said quietly before gesturing Sean to lean down so he could whisper in his ear. "I've been meaning to ask you this, but does that mean you have a jersey I can wear while you fuck me?" It was said with a coy smile, at a volume low enough that he was sure Jean wouldn't over hear, and Sean groaned loudly before pressing a kiss to Lawson's forehead and sitting back up.
"I don't even want to know what you just said right now, Murphy," Jean accused, but then he shot Lawson a dark smile that told him he approved.
***
Nathan invited him and Sean over to his apartment for movies. He also invited, Wesley and Del (who was in town visiting again, of course), and Reese and Kye. It would be interesting, Lawson thought, since all of them had never gotten together before, but he still agreed, eager to catch up with Jean and happy to do something with his friends, all of whom had been so busy with school lately.
Sean and Lawson arrived first, a little early since he knew Nathan wouldn't care, and Glenn answered the door with a smile. He was freshly showered after playing tennis- just as Lawson was- and he had switched out his contacts for his glasses. They were new. Clear framed.
"Hi guys," Glenn greeted happily, moving out of the doorway to give them enough space to walk in side by side. Jean was sitting on the couch. He raised an absent hand to wave at them before bringing his attention down to his cellphone.
"Nathan's just-"
"Right here," Nate finished, moving into the room from the bedroom, shutting the door behind him. He was wearing a Spring Field Tennis t-shirt, and when he turned Lawson identified it as Glenn's based on the name on the back.
"That's my shirt, hun," Glenn pointed out, sounding fond, and Nathan's eyes widened a little and then he comically attempted to look at his own back. It didn't work.
"Ah, I must have gone in your drawer," Nathan said eventually, smiling as he moved further into the living room to join them. His arm came around Glenn's waist. "It'll be my last name eventually anyways". Glenn's eyes widened and his cheeks flushed pink. "Hey guys. You invite everyone for me?"
"Yeah," Lawson confirmed, propping his elbow up onto Sean's shoulder casually. "All said they'd be here. Del insisted that he wouldn't let Wesley be fashionably late, so they should be here andy minute".
Nathan hummed thoughtfully. "I'm actually really excited to meet the guy who puts up with Wes. Should I be expecting some dotting fool?"
Sean and Lawson both laughed at this. "I'm pretty sure between the two of them, the dotting fool is Wes," Sean claimed, resulting in raised eyebrows from Nate.
"Who the fuck is Wesley?" Jean inquired from the couch, looking up at the four of them still hovering in front of the door.
"Lawson's roommate," Nate answered, and almost immediately after there was a rhythmic knock at the door that had Lawson rolling his eyes. Him and Sean moved out of the way, giving Nathan enough room to move forwards and open the door.
The look on Glenn's face at the sight of Wesley made Lawson laugh all through the introductions, muffling the sound into Sean's shoulder the best he could as Delaney rolled his eyes at the reaction. "Just what his ego needs," he mumbled to Lawson briefly before going over to his exuberant boyfriend, who was talking rapidly to flushing Glenn and a laid back Nathan.
Jean, who was still sitting on the couch, looked up to examine Wesley, and then looked immediately down again when Delaney wrapped his arms securely around his boyfriend's waist.
"Maybe we should keep the seventh wheel some company," Sean suggested, seeming to notice this as well. It was either that, or continue to listen to Wesley's annoying voice, so Lawson grabbed Sean's hand and lead him into the living room, where they took a seat on the carpet on the opposite side of the coffee table as Jean.
"Don't you guys have any single friends?" Jean asked without raising his eyes from his phone. "Or straight ones?"
"Us Gays band together," Sean claimed, leaning back on his hands and smiling at Lawson when he received an amused glance. Jean also let out an amused huff of air at this, but otherwise didn't acknowledge.
"You still sleeping with everything that moves?" Lawson asked casually. Only then did Jean peer up at him from his cellphone, green eyes intense. "How long are you going to be doing that for?"
"Until I forget?" was the simple answer he received in return, and Lawson breathed out a long sigh.
"You can't just forget about someone you love".
"Then I guess I'm going to be doing this for a long time then," Jean claimed, seemingly unconcerned. Jean tired to make it seem like having a crazy amount of sex with nameless faces wasn't wearing on him, but Lawson knew better. Even Nathan had stopped once his feelings for Glenn progressed past friendship. There was something completely different about having sex with someone you were in love with, something that made it incomparable to everyone else.
Lawson wondered how Jean felt from going to having that, to reverting back to meaningless sex with strangers. It was probably dull.
"Have you run in to Green at all?"
Jean made a face. "Where would I run into him? Tennessee? I only got here earlier this morning. It's not like I've been hanging around". Jean was quiet for a minute. "Have you seen him around?"
"Once," Lawson admitted with shrugged shoulders. "Few weeks ago. He was buying rum. It was kind of awkward, but I think I've always kind of been awkward around him".
"Because he's so fucking hot?" Jean said dully.
"No, because I looked up to him as a tennis player," Lawson corrected. Jean's eyebrows raised, but he didn't get to say anything else before he was interrupted by a knock at the door.
There were only two people missing, so it was little surprise when Glenn pulled it open to reveal Kye and Reese. "Hey!" Glenn exclaimed, pulling Kye into a hug thy the other boy returned with wide eyes. Reese looked less than pleased. "It's so good to see you again! How've you been?"
"Uh, great, Glenn. How about you?" Kye asked, pulling out of their hug to smile at the other boy.
"I'm absolutely wonderful, of course," Glenn claimed, shooting a happy look at Nathan over his shoulder before finally bringing his gaze to Reese, who looked less than thrilled with the attention.
Glenn's eyes widened at the sight of the small boy, and for a moment Lawson wondered why, but then the realized Glenn must be remembering Reese. From the video, all those months ago of him and Nathan dancing.
It was awkward for half a second as they just looked at one another and Nathan chewed his lip, but then, because it was Glenn and he was perfect and civil, he smiled and outstretched his hand towards him. "Hi! I'm Glenn".
"My boyfriend," Nathan added quickly. Wesley made an ooo sound as he picked up on the tense situation.
Without smiling, Reese shook Glenn's hand. "Reese," he said grimly. Kye rolled his eyes and then moved further into the apartment, placing a light hand on Glenn's arm to steer him away from the hostile situation. Nathan looked relieved by this, while Reese seemed outraged, but Nate was quick to say something softly to him that made him huff out a laugh.
It was all very awkward for a while, especially when Reese caught sight of Jean and then proceeded to take a seat really close to him and laugh at the things he said. Kye watched them from his seat on the floor next to Delaney- who he unsurprisingly got along with very well- and Wesley, expression unreadable.
Lawson leaned over to talk to Sean. "Okay, I get it now".
"Yeah?" Sean asked, eyes on Jean, who seemed to have picked up on Kye's obsessive staring and had greatly reduced his flirting with the short boy.
"I really get it". Sean snorted, leaning forward and stretching his legs out in front of him. "Has it always been this obvious".
"Yes," Sean claimed. "You're just drunk most of the time that they're like this. This always happens when Reese is all over someone else".
Since Sean had met Kye and Reese, they had attended a handful of parties with the other boys, most of which involved Lawson drinking enough to feel fuzzy and spending the rest of the night moving to the music back against his boyfriend and then making out in inappropriate places.
"Wow".
"Hey, what are the chances that we actually end up watching movies?" Sean questioned, and Lawson shrugged his shoulders.
"Probably not good, but I think we all knew that was gonna happen since there's not a chance that Wesley could keep his mouth shut long enough to get through an entire movie," Lawson pointed out, to which Wesley made a whining noise.
"You know I can hear you, right?" He snapped, though Del easily soothed him by passing a hand through his hair. Sean looked amused.
"You guys want anything to drink?" Glenn inquired from his place curled up next to Nathan on the couch, probably trying to be a good host and keep his guests from fighting.
"What, wine?" Lawson teased, and Glenn's eyes grew a little wider.
"Glenn likes wine," Nathan reminded, seeming exasperated.
"Ohh, me too!" Wesley claimed happily. "Laney does too, though he won't admit it. You like wine? If I had known I would have brought some over-"
"Where would you get wine?" Delaney asked him, and Wesley just averted his towards the ceiling and pursued his lips. "If you say anything about flirting with people older than you to get them to buy you alcohol, I will break up with you".
"I don't flirt with them," Wesley protested, but he did reach out his hand and slip it into Del's in a silent apology.
"Is that a yes for wine?" Glenn interrupted, gaze on Lawson, who's eyes rolled.
"If you have some, that'd be wonderful".
With a kiss to Nathan's cheek and a little laugh when his boyfriend mumbled something in response, Glenn got up from the couch and made his way to the kitchen. Nathan watched him go.
"Why don't you look at me like that?" Lawson teased Sean softly for only him to hear, turning towards his boyfriend to find him also watching Nate look at Glenn.
"Glenn's not looking".
"Huh?"
Sean's eyes slid to his. "Glenn's not looking at Nathan when Nathan looks at him like that, so he doesn't see," he explained, but Lawson still frowned. "If it happens when you're not looking, how do you know I don't look at you like that?"
Lawson's lips parted a little bit. "I... guess I don't?"
"Exactly".
He just looked at his boyfriend for a minute, wondering if it would be appropriate to kiss him right then- they were in a room full of gay men- but then a shifting to his left caught his attention, and Lawson turned to see Kye rising to his feet and excusing himself to go into the kitchen after Glenn.
The situation seemed unconcerning to Nathan, who brought his attention to Delaney to ask him a question, but Reese immediately straightened, watching his roommate go with narrowed eyes. Suddenly Jean was much less interesting to him.
How had Lawson failed to notice this before? He felt like an idiot.
"You're not an idiot," Sean said, voice low. Eyes widening, Lawson's head snapped to the side to look at his boyfriend. Had he said that out- "no, you didn't say it out loud". How was he- "I'm not reading your mind. You just have a transparent face".
Before Lawson could dignify this with a response, the sound of Glenn's laugh reached his ears, and he looked back to the kitchen just in time to see Kye look sheepish and shrug his shoulders.
With a little huff of annoyance, Reese got up off the couch, leaving Jean's side without another word, moving towards the kitchen with purposeful steps. "There he goes," Jean mumbled, and Nathan hummed.
"Surprised it took him that long," Wesley claimed, sounding amused by the entire thing.
They all watched as Reese went right up to Kye and grabbed his arm, pulling him down to his level to whisper something into his ear. Glenn gave one last smile before turning away, holding two glasses of wine and joining them in the living room again. He handed the glasses to Del and Wesley before taking a seat on the couch next to Nate, who had moved closer to Jean upon Reese leaving. Lawson rolled his eyes as Nathan leaned his head back into Glenn until the other boy ran his hands through his hair. "I can get you a glass in a little, Lawson. I just think they need a minute".
At the words, Lawson's eyes flicked back to the kitchen to see Kye bend down and press his mouth against Reese's forehead, the gesture very soft for both of them. He looked away, back at Glenn. "Why do you think I want a glass?"
*** (Extra Scene: Kye's POV)
Kye was sick of sitting there, helpless as Reese took out his frustrations with him by pressing himself up against Jean, so he got up and joined Glenn in the kitchen.
The pretty boy had lined up five or so wine glasses- Kye would have to talk to Nathan about this because what freshman in college had this many wine glasses- and was uncorking a fresh bottle when Kye entered the room. Glenn looked completely surprised to see him.
"I didn't think you had glasses," Kye began, eyeing the clear frames Glenn was wearing.
The other boy hummed. "I wear contacts most of the time, so most people don't know".
Glenn fell silent then and just looked at Kye expectantly. "What?" Just slightly, Glenn's eyebrows raised. "What?"'
"What on earth is going on with you and Reese?" He asked, which was unsurprising, since the tension wasn't exactly subtle.
"To be honest, I don't really know," Kye admitted, because he didn't. After the two of them fighting and avoiding the topic for months, Kye has finally snapped at Reese that he wanted him to stop fucking around because he liked him, and they both knew Reese was just doing it to taunt him. Reese hadn't really given him a response, only looked at him with very wide eyes, and then proceeded to dance with some random guy at the party right in front of him.
For the first time, Kye had responded to this by leaning the party without him, which majorly pissed off Reese, who he was pretty sure just wanted his attention.
"We kind of have a lot of things to work out before anything really happens". Glenn hummed thoughtfully and eyes one of the glasses of wine, like he was thinking about drinking it. "Do you not like him?"
"No," Glenn said, and then his eyebrows drew together. "I mean, I don't dislike him... I just... I recognize him as the boy that my boyfriend grinded on when I wasn't there-"
"And you're jealous?" Kye inquired, and Glenn turned his face away to look into the living room. Without checking, Kye knew that Reese was watching them.
"I'd be lying if I said it didn't bother me, because it does, but I'm aware of the fact that neither of them did anything wrong," Glenn admitted. His eyes dropped slightly then, looking at nothing. "I don't dislike him. That wouldn't be fair. I guess... I just look at him and I'm reminded of my shortcomings and how he was there for Nathan when I wasn't, and it makes me mad at myself". It was in understanding that Kye nodded. Finally, Glenn's eyes refocused as slid over to Kye. "So then why doesn't he like me?"
"Huh?"
Glenn smiled. "He's been glaring at me the entire time, though I'm sure you've noticed since you've been staring at him all the while. As far as I know, I've done nothing to offend him".
Kye grimaced. "I may or may not have told him that I think you're more beautiful that he is a while back, and it pissed him off".
Glenn's brown eyes widened. "Wou would you do that?" He asked. "You clearly don't think it's true. I can tell by how you look at him".
With a sigh, Kye admitted, "I don't really know why I said it, I guess. Look at him flirt though. He tries to piss me off too".
It was silent, and then Glenn let out a sweet laugh, head thrown back a little. "What kind of games are you playing, Kye?"
In response, Kye smiled and shrugged. "I guess-" he cut off as Reese walked into the room, seeming rather frustrated. Kye's eyebrows shot up as the boy marched right up to him with purpose, small hands reaching out to grip this arm tightly to pull him down to his height.
"Pay attention to me," Reese demanded at a whisper, making Kye's eyes roll. Glenn just smiled and picked up two glasses of wine before slipping silently from the room.
With a sight, Kye turned to the short boy. "What did we talk about?" Reese's eyes widened. "I'm done just giving you attention Reese. No more. Not until you're honest with me".
Reese's pale face flushed, and he dropped his eyes to glare at the floor. For someone so pretty he was awfully angry.
For a moment, Kye was sure the boy would turn away from him and go back to sit on the couch next to Jean to flirt some more, but instead he leaned forward and pressed his face into Kye's arm, saying something quietly. "What was that?"
Reese pulled back and his head snapped up to look at him. His eyes were narrowed. "I like you, okay? You don't need to be a total douche about it".

Lawson (POV)
Despite what Sean had predicted, they actually did watch movies, but Lawson had been correct in assuming that Wesley would talk through it, so everyone just seemed to accept that the film would only be background noise to their conversation.
The main character in the movie they were watching had exceptionally horrible hair, which resulted in Wesley saying, "Laney, do you remember when your hair was that bad?" and then Lawson and Jean both chimed in with something along the lines of:
"It could not have been worse than Nathan's last year". Surprisingly, Nathan didn't look very upset about this accusation, but Glenn did, pushing his lip out into a pout before reaching over and pushing his hand through Nathan's significantly shorter hair.
"It wasn't that bad," he protested softly, and Nathan's head lolled to the side to look at him, eyebrows raised.
"Your just saying that because you were the one who got to pull on it," Jean accused. Immediately, Glenn scowled at the other boy, his hand falling from Nathan's hair.
"Why are you so crass?" He demanded, and Jean just shrugged his shoulder.
"What did his air look like?" Reese asked from his spot on the floor. Ever since him and Kye had returned from the kitchen, Reese had been at the taller boy's side, close enough that they were constantly touching.
"It was long," Lawson answered. "But like, only on the top. The sides were like a normal length".
"That's pretty normal," Wesley pointed out. Him and Delaney had moved to occupy the single chair in the room, which was entertaining since they clearly both didn't fit, but Wes seemed content curling up on his boyfriend's lap.
"That wasn't the bad part. The bad part was when he'd pull it into that little bun to keep it out of his eyes," Jean added.
"Hey!" Nate snapped, now seeming upset with the last comment. "It was fun".
"It was horrible," Lawson corrected and Nate's frown deepened.
"Glenn was totally into me at that time," was his come back, which Lawson rolled his eyes at.
"Glenn's been totally into you since we were like fifteen man. He was too far in at that point," Jean recalled thoughtfully, and Glenn flushed red, looking up at the ceiling.
Freshman year, Lawson mouthed to a smug looking Nathan who simply nodded in response. "Damn".
"And how long have you two been dating?" Wesley asked, his eyes lingering on the television, reminding Lawson that there was something on it.
When he looked over, two characters he didn't recognize were trying to kill one another, and he figured he was too far behind to try to catch up. Then, because he wanted to, Lawson let his eyes move over to his boyfriend and linger there, which Sean either didn't notice, or ignored as he listed to the conversation.
"Really? When'd you have sex the first time?" Wesley inquired, and Delaney tisked loudly.
"Dumbass, You can't just ask people that," Del reprimanded, but he sounded as if he was already used to it and didn't expect much else.
Nathan laughed, seeming unoffended, and Glenn offered a smile, but his cheeks were red. Neither of them answered, since Wesley wasn't really listening to them anymore, addressing Del. "Why can't I ask them that. I know them, and it's not like they're not sleeping together, and sex is a fun topic".
Delaney's eyebrows raised. "It's a fun topic? Are you just talking to everyone about our sex life and I don't know about it".
"Of course not!" Wesley examined, loudly, and Lawson scoffed at the lie. Everyone looked at him then, and then back at Wesley. "Well Lawson lives with me". Delaney's eyes were narrowed suspiciously.
Thankfully, Jean broke the tension with the statement, "speaking of sex-"
"Oh no".
"Shut up Lawson. I have a story".
"That's what I'm worried about," was Lawson response. He then shifted his body closer to his boyfriend for warmth, and Sean brought a hand to his leg without pause, fingers curling over to the inside of his thigh.
"I have crossed another item off of my sex bucket list," Jean declared loudly. Wesley and Reese both suddenly looked intrigued, while all the rest of them looked horrified, and Nathan sighed.
"You have a sex bucket list?" Glenn asked eventually, and Jean nodded proudly. Glenn's eyes moved to Nathan then. "Did you ever have one of these?"
"No," Nathan responded calmly. "That's weird".
"It is not".
"Is it like, people you want to have sex with, places or fantasies?" Wesley questioned, receiving a pinch to his leg then from Del, who shot him a look Lawson read as don't you dare get any ideas. Wes shrugged, and then turned to look back and Jean.
"It's kind of a combination of places and fantasies," Jean answered with a shrug. "The people don't really matter".
"How sweet," Glenn mumbled as Nathan only groaned.
"What'd you cross off," Sean finally asked, appeasing Jean who grinned at him in return.
"Movie theater".
"What movie?" Nate inquired calmly, and only the did Jean advert his eyes before naming the most recent children's animated film to grace the theaters. "Oh, that's fucking gross man".
"It was the only empty theater!" Jean protested.
"How did that get you in the mood? It ended up being depressing as shit," Sean cut in, and Jean's eyebrows raised.
"You've seen it?"
"We went last week". Sean gestures between him and Lawson.
"What are you, seven?" Nathan inquired, and Lawson snorted before leaning over and whispering:
"Seven inches deep in my ass," to Sean before explaining, "we took my sisters," over the sound of Sean's loud laughter and his find accusation that Lawson was a fucking idiot.
***
As the night went on, the conversation slowly dwindled until they were all actually watching the latest movie- well, everyone but Sean, who had promptly climbed between Lawson's legs over an hour ago and tucked his face into his neck before falling asleep. It had to be the most uncomfortable position in the world, and Lawson had tried to improve it by leaning back against the arm of couch next to Jean's legs. The reclined position allowed Sean's head to fall more comfortably on Lawson's chest.
"He's like a cat," Wesley observed from his spot curled up on Del's lap, and Lawson's eyebrows raised as if to say look at yourself.
"You know, I've always thought you'd be the little spoon, Lawson," Nathan commented, and Lawson just huffed in amusement because that was the furthest thing from the truth. Sean might have been taller, but he most definitely was the one who preferred to be curled up in the others embrace.
With a soft hum, Lawson brought his hand up to his boyfriend's face, brushing his thumbs gently over the skin under Sean's eyelashes and laughing gently when they fluttered, and then settling his hand against Sean's neck to trace his thumb over his jaw, back and forth.
"So you love him then?" Jean asked from above him. Lawson tilted his head back to look at his friend before cracking a smile.
"Is it that obvious?"
Jean shrugged. "If it counts for anything, it's pretty obvious that he loves to too". It wasn't who Lawson wanted to hear it from, but it was still something, and he looked back down at Sean before pressing a kiss to his forehead as he thought:
How could I not love him?
