Chapter Three: Fighting Fire With Fire
Gwen was sat at the staff table the next morning, watching Elira with her new friends. "Are you alright, dear?" Professor McGonagall inquired, seeing the sadness in her colleagues eyes. "I'm fine Minerva, I'm just worried about my daughter. She had a tough year at Durmstrang and now she's stuck in the middle of a messy divorce. she's refused to speak to me for over a month.." Gwen sighed sadly, "I'm sure she will come round, you know what teenagers are like.. Stroppy at the best of times." McGonagall reassured Gwen with a smile. "I don't think she will this time Minerva."
"Elira, where exactly are you from?" Hermione asked her new friend noisily. "Romania, that's where i grew up. My mother is Welsh and my father is Albanian, so really I'm British/Albanian." Elira explained. "Why did you move here?" Neville asked, "One word, Divorce." Elira sighed, looking up at the staff table and watching her mother with distain.
Elira scowled at Professor Snape as he entered the hall, and he returned the gesture. "I see the dungeon bat is in a good mood as usual." Neville chuckled, shaking his head. "Dungeon bat? Oh, I just love it!" Elira grinned evilly. "We have him for double potions after lunch... but on the plus side we have Herbology first period!" Neville beamed excitedly.

"Hey, Harry isn't it?" Elira asked, stopping the boy with glasses in the corridor after leaving Herbology.
"Yes, Elira right? Hermione told me about you.. are you enjoying Hogwarts so far?" He asked happily. "So far, so good..." She smiled, shaking his hand.
"I was wondering could you tell me where the astronomy tower is? I overheard some students talking about how it's a cool place to escape to?"
"Yeah, sure!" Harry smiled pulling a piece of folded parchment which turned out to be a map from his pocket and pulling Elira into a corner. He pointed at the astronomy tower and explained how to get there. "Here, check this out! I Solomly swear that I'm up to no good" he chanted. And the map came to life.
"What on earth? is that Neville? Wow..." Elira screeched in shock, "It's called the marauders map.. it's top secret." Harry explained. "Well the secret is safe with me." Elira assured him, "thanks for the directions." She added. "No problem, are you going there now?" Harry asked noisily. "Oh no, just for future reference. Where are you heading to now?" Elira asked, finding herself at a loose end until lunch.
"We're going to see Hagrid, you should come!" Harry beamed, Elira nodded and agreed and followed him out of the castle.

Elira looked around as they arrived at Hagrids hut, Harry had knocked the door and they were waiting for him to answer. The door swung open and Elira looked up at the half giant and smiled, "well 'ello 'Arry! An' who is this we go' 'ere?" The hairy man grinned, ushering us inside. "I'm Elira, Sir. I've just moved here.. My mother is the new language professor... Gwen Argolli.. Or Rhys.. Whatever she's going by this week." She explained with a sneer, cautiously accepting Hagrids handshake.. She was surprised by how gentle he was.
"No need f' sir an' all that Elira, just call me 'Agrid!" He chuckled, leading them into his kitchen where Hermione and Ron were waiting.
Hagrid poured the tea, and Elira gave his dog a good cuddle. "I see ya met Fang, he's a good ol' dog. Gentle as can be he is!" Hagrid explained, setting some biscuits on the saucers. "Thank you." Elira smiled.
See, Elira was always kind and polite to anyone who was deserving, but Merlin have mercy if anyone was to cross her.
An hour had passed and Elira had found out so much, she knew about the return of he who shall not be named, she didn't feel as afraid as the others, but she did feel slightly worried. She was her fathers daughter and would always stand up for what's right... At any cost.
As they said their goodbyes to Hagrid, they headed back to the castle for lunch.
"I'm starving." Ron moaned, "When are you not hungry Ronald?" Hermione sighed, rolling her eyes and laughing with Elira. "Are you scared Harry? about..." Elira inquired as they trailed behind the others, she had recognised him from the newspapers. "I cannot allow myself to be, I don't have that luxury." Harry replied sadly.
"You carry so much on your shoulders, I think it's ok to feel worried... They have got your back." She insisted, gesturing towards Hermione and Ron. Harry smiled and gave out a small laugh.

Harry sat next to Elira in the potions classroom, "I can't believe we have double bat man." She scoffed with a smirk, Just as Professor Snape was entering the room. He stormed to the front of the class and spun around, glaring down at Elira intensely.
"If Mr Weasley would be so kind as to remove his gawping face from Miss Grangers direction before I have to give her a tonic of some sort it would be appreciated..." He drawled, his eyes fixed on the pair in disgust.
"He seriously needs to get laid." Elira snorted and Harry laughed, "Is something amusing Potter?" Snape spat, approaching Harry with anger. "No, Sir." Harry replied simply, "Then I suggest that you pay attention and refrain from being an imbecile like your father." He seethed cruelly.
"Well, that was bloody uncalled for!" Elira piped up in Harry's defence, "what is uncalled for, Miss Argolli is your interference now shut your insolent mouth!" Snape boomed, "How about you shut up?" Elira scowled at the wizard, "DETENTION! TONIGHT!" He growled, returning to the front of the class. "What did you go and do that for?" Harry sighed.
"He can stuff his detention where the sun don't shine." Elira groaned. "Miss Argolli, if you are insistent on disrupting this class, I suggest that you leave before I loose my patience!" Snape ordered with a dark and menacing tone. "What patience? you're a stuck up, rude, pathetic excuse for a man!" Elira scowled, grabbing her bag to leave.
Snape grabbed her arm as she approached the door and dragged her outside, "I will not tolerate your behaviour Miss Argolli, I shall be informing the headmaster and your mother, and I expect you at detention right after dinner and be prepared for a long and tedious evening!"
"I'm spending it with you, I'm already prepared." Elira smirked, knowing she was pushing his buttons. She waited for him to scold her again but he just stood there in silence, staring into her eyes before swishing around and going back in the classroom.
