One of the dark figures is next to me on my right. I feel their hand land on my upper arm and stay there as I feel their other hand wipe the warm tears away from my face.
What happened? Where am I?
I look around as my vision slowly becomes clearer and the darkness slowly fades away. As I feel my tears being wiped away, more of them fall and I cannot stop them.
I lost it. I lost. Everything is a lie and everything is gone. I hate everything. I just want to go back home, the way it used to be.
I keep looking at the dark figure next to me, "I just want to go home..." I whisper.
"She's awake," I hear a deep, worried voice say.
"Oh, good," The soft voice says from across the room. There are those voices again.
The face looking down at me holds a worried look to match the voice. The shaggy blue hair and those deep blue eyes slowly fade into view.
Those voices. That face. Oh, my beloved Ike. He came for me!
Once I realize who it is, a small smile etches itself onto my lips as his right hand cups around my face.
"Ike," I say softly, feeling wearily and weak from being grounded for so long. He smiles when he hears his name. He gazes into my eyes, which is all I need to feel better. I grasp his hand in mine as he holds my face.
"I missed you," I say to him quietly. Then my eyes widen as I lift my free hand up and look at it. Then I glance up to Ike and say, "I'm not grounded anymore..."
Ike watches me and nods, "Yes. I do not know what you remember, Hun. But once you passed out, we brought you somewhere safe and your mother removed the device,"
I keep his gaze, everything I am saying is in a whisper, "I do not remember much, but the things I saw..." I let my eyes flash a bit of sadness as I pause, "I saw terrible things, Ike," I cannot stop the single tear from falling.
Ike's eyes sadden as well as he keeps his gaze on me, "What happened? Your mother was telling me what being grounded meant. She said you must have been grounded for a long time. When your magic is grounded, it is similar to losing it or losing control and your emotions take you over. It must have been terrible..." Ike tightens his grip on my hand that held it up to my face.
"I thought... I must have thought... It must've manipulated my memories, making me believe lies. I felt like I was a different person, like I really thought my life was a lie, Ike," I pause for a moment, as another tear falls slowly down my face, "I thought I was a prisoner, being punished for my deeds that must've not been my own..."
At that moment, before I could finish my thoughts, a loud noise fills my ears and the wall on the other side of me comes crashing down. I jerk my head towards it and my eyes widen as I see another girl who looks like me being chased by at least a half of a dozen of alien-like creatures. They look like half robot flying jellyfish, with a bunch of long, thick tentacles dangling outwards from their bodies.
"What is—Who is—What is happening? Why does she look like me—? What are those?"
"Namerans!" I hear my mother's voice yell from across the room.
"Namerans?" I repeat, confused. I cannot comprehend what is happening quick enough to react. Since I am still sluggish and weak from being grounded, I realize I need time to heal myself.
But I have no time.
"Ike, protect Star! They are after the other princess! They will surely attack her too!"
"Yes ma'am!"
Then Ike turns to me and starts to pick me up from the bed. I cannot keep my eyes from the other girl who looks like me and the strange things chasing her around the room. I cannot take it anymore, "Mother! What is happening?"
Before I can hear my mother respond, a couple of the Namerans fly uncomfortably close to me as Ike jumps up over the tentacles that has been reaching for me. The other princess that mother referred to her as is trying to fight these creatures. That is when I notice her eyes and hands.
They are glowing black. She's the Dark World Princess?
"She has dark magic—?" I whisper. I am so confused right now.
Then the other princess damages one of the Namerans, causing two others to close in on her at the same time. She lets out a short scream as she is wrapped up by one of them, speeding away, taking her with them. I hear her scream as they carry her away. The rest of them turn and start flying directly at me...
My eyes widen as I cover my mouth with my hands, stopping myself from screaming. I feel Ike's grip on me tighten as they approach us. They surround me and one by one, swoop in and attempt to get Ike to drop me. Once the Namerans realize Ike is not going to give up, they start attacking, reaching their tentacles out towards me. I keep slapping them away as Ike keeps trying his best to maneuver around their attempts, but they only get more aggressive as they go. Once one of them gets an opening, they swoop in and grab my arm. I let out a scream as I feel the blue tentacles wrap themselves around me, pulling me away from Ike. I reach for his hand as he reaches for mine, "Star!"
"Ike! No! Please no! Let me go! I am not the princess you seek!" But it is no use. As I am being lifted, I hear Ike yell up to me, "I will find you, Star! Nothing will stop me!"
They swiftly lift me up and out of the wall they broke through to get to me. Ike quickly leaves my vision as the next thing I see is purple sky and nothing else. As they group together with the others who holds the other princess, I manage to look down to see where I was just taken from.
It's another starship. They are preparing to take me home... Ike came for me like he always does... Just for me to be taken from him again...
Tears begin to burst from my eyes and flow down the sides of my face as I watch the Dark World planet get smaller and smaller as I am being taken away. The starship is slowly escaping my view, as I am being swallowed up by the black galaxy.
So Star finally figures out there are two of her!
And she is nothing like her! A bratty and spoiled princess, if you will!
And the adventure continues... At least Star has her magic back, she just has to rest for a little while.
