ミ★ Chapter 6 ★彡
(Asgore's POV)
It'll be a week before Yulen comes back home so it's just me here. I'm used to being alone but... I miss her presence and her laughter. I just hope she's safe and has a good time with her friends.
Hmm, I could try and make Toriel's pie again or-
*Glass shattering sound*
With my trident in hand, I walk through the halls looking for the sound. I found a broken vase on the ground.
I sigh and start cleaning it up. I use a broom I got from the corner of the room. I move the flower into a new pot and put it next to my trident. I move the broken pieces of the vase into the bin and throw away the dust.
I take a look at the room and smile. Everything is back in order.
I clean it and make it look like new then put it back on the table. I wipe the glass off the table. I put it back on the counter.
I walked up the stairs to check on myself out of habit. My once bright blue and orange eyes were dark, my blonde hair and beard were unkempt, my crown was lopsided, and my horns were dull and blunt.
I had changed in more than just my physical appearance; my soul had been weighted by the burden of my life's choices.
I smoothed my hair out and made sure my crown wasn't lopsided. I was no longer the same person I had been before, but I had to remember that I was still worthy of respect and love, no matter what had happened in the past.
I hear a knock on the door, and I open it with my key.
"Hey, Asgore- whoa are you OK?"
Undyne stood in the doorway of my house and gave me a concerned look. "I'm fine," I said, putting on a brave smile. "Just a bit tired from the journey."
"I'm fine Undyne, nothing is wrong."
"Of course not, I know all about this. You've been acting strange since that last human came through here."
I paused for a second and said, "I'm still conflicted about having to kill them even though they had killed innocent monsters and attempted to harm my daughter and Sans. They were still a child after all, such is the duty of being a king..."
She said, "I understand. So, with that out of the way are we gonna train?"
(Time skip brought to you by Undyne's spears)
"Asgore, see you soon!" Undyne yelled as she ran out of the house, closing the door behind her.
I decided to clean around the rooms and started cleaning Yulen's room when I noticed a stack of papers on her desk and walked over to it.
They were all something having to do with royal matters such as a meeting we both have to attend in two weeks. However, one particular paper caught my eye. It had strange symbols instead of writing. They seemed awfully familiar.
There was one thing on the page that wasn't a symbol and it seemed to be two names - Dr. W.D. and Sans.
Dr. W.D. Where did I hear that name? Then it hit me, Dr. W.D. was the name of the scientist who worked on the project. Sans was his assistant. I reached over to Yulen's desk, grabbed the two papers, and stuffed them into my pocket.
As I made my way up the stairs, I noticed a trail of the same pattern of symbols I saw on the two papers. I walked downstairs, opened the door, and stepped outside to see snowflakes falling down. I started walking down the pathway when I noticed a glow in the distance. It was getting closer. The tree in front of my house was the source.
I stared at the tree for a moment and when the glow faded, I opened my eyes, not knowing what I was seeing.
As I reached the tree, I noticed Sans holding a small crystal. As I stepped closer, I could see the intricate patterns of light reflecting off the crystal.
He gripped the crystal tighter as he looked at me. His expression was nervous and worried.
I gave him a smile as I knelt down to his level and opened up my pocket and pulled out the second paper giving it to him. He slowly unfolded the paper and smiled. I could feel the tension in the air release as he read the words. He looked up at me and thanked me.
"Here you go my friend, you're going to need this." I gave him a wink and said, "Don't worry it's nothing to be worried about, I'm here to help."
I gave Sans a smile as he gave me a puzzled look. I stood up and said, "Look if you ever need me, you can just come to my door. I'll always be happy to see you."
He smiled and nodded at me as I walked over to my house. I turned back and waved at him before entering the house. He still stood there, looking at me, until I was out of sight. I silently hoped that he would take me up on my offer.
