Taylor's POV

I woke up and went to get my clothes. Haven't heard from Jules yet, which is not a good sign. Either she'd dead or killed someone last night. Tyler had to go to school. So I decided to go to the grill. If Jules is alive she'll find me.

"Rum, straight" I tell the bar tender.

"Rough morning?" he asks.

"You have no idea" I tell him. He gives me my drink and I go to pay.

"On the house beautiful" he tells me with a wink. Before going to serve someone else. I roll my eyes and take a sip of my drink.

"Hello Liz" I say as she joins me.

"Been a long time Taylor" she states.

"I meet your daughter, she is an amazing young lady" I tell her.

"Thanks, I am very pride of her. She was Miss Mystic Falls this year" she tells me.

"Good for her" I state.

"I remember when that was you" she states.

"A lot has changed since then" I tell her. Jules joins us and I notice she is not in her own clothes. I give her a pointed look, but put on a fake smile as she sits beside me. "Liz, this is Jules a friend of Mason and mine" I state.

"Sheriff Forbes, hi" Jules says and they shake hands.

"Nice to meet you Jules" Liz says.

"Don't be fooled, she can be a real bitch" I tell her and Jules gives me a pointed look.

"Any news on Mason?" Jules asks Liz.

"No one's heard from him. I've opened an investigation. As soon as I hear anything I'll let one of you or Carol know" Liz states.

"By the way Liz, the uniform suits you. Congrats on making sheriff" I tell her.

"Thanks, I should get back to the station. It was nice seeing you again Taylor" she states.

"We have to catch up for a drink sometime" I tell her. She nods her head and leaves. "So who did you kill?" I ask Jules.

"No one" she lies and I give her a look. "A group of campers in the woods and I may of killed a deputy" she states.

"God damn it Jules" I curse and down my drink.

"Hey, at least I bite a vampire. I bet she is already hallucinating" she states.

"Which could lead her to kill hundreds of innocent people until she finally dies" I sneer. "We're here to find out what happened to Mason, we are supposed to be keeping a low profile" I remind her.

"Ok, I slipped up. But it's fine I burned the bodies and evidence" she tells me. "Want me to go stake the vampire?" she asks.

"I think you've caused enough trouble for today" I tell her. "I'll handle it" I add as Damon joins. "Oh joy" I say.

"Well, if it isn't the one I meant to kill. I'll have to get that right next time" Jules states.

"You won't live to see another full moon unless. Unless you tell me how to cure a wolf bite and then I won't kill you" Damon tells her.

"Promise?" Jules asks.

"Yes" he says. She leaves some money on the desk and then looks at Damon.

"Bite me" she tells him and goes to leave. But Damon grabs her arm. "I'm not afraid of you" she states.

"Then you are very, very stupid" he tells her.

"How's your friend? Rose, is that her name? Have the chills started? The unbearable pain?" Jules asks him tauntingly.

"If there's a cure, tell me or start watching your back" Damon tells her.

"Did I mention the dementia? It'll eat away at her brain. Soon she'll be rabid. You want a cure? I'll tell you the only cure that exists: take a stake and drive it through her heart" she tells him. Before leaving.

"She's right" I tell him. "After all my years as a werewolf, I have never seen a cure for a werewolf bite" I state. "I am sorry about your friend Rose, Jules is a real monster when she changes" I add. "But know this Damon, if I find out you or your brother had anything to do with Mason's death. I will kill you myself" I tell him before leaving.

I decide to go check on Tyler at his school. However, when I arrive I smell blood and  a lot of it. I track the scent to see a vampire feeding on a man. "Hey!" I shout and she drops him. When she looks at me, I can tell she must be Rose. She looks horrible. Before I could say anything else, she disappears. I curse and race over to the man. Putting pressure on the wound.

I called 911. But he died before the ambulance could arrive. Liz arrived with some of her deputies. I tell her the truth of what I saw. "You know?" she asks me.

"Of course, one of the reasons I never came back. I always knew vampires would return one day" I tell her.

"We could use your help" she tells me. "Damon, thank god" she says when she sees him. "Thanks for coming so quickly" she tells him.

"No, I was close by Liz, what happened?" he asks her.

"A vampire. Luckily Taylor discovered the body before anyone else saw him" Liz states.

"We have to secure the area then" Damon states as he looks at me.

"Don't cause a panic, but let's take this party into the cafeteria" she tells her deputies. "I take the east side of the school, you go west?" she asks Damon.

"Sure, ok" he says.

"I'll go with him" I tell her. She hands me a stake and leaves. "It was Rose" I tell him.

"I know" he says. "Don't you have a nephew to hound?" he asks.

"Tyler is fine, the safety of the town is in jeopardy and it's my fault. I let Jules come with me, had I made her stay in Florida. Rose wouldn't have been bitten and innocent people wouldn't be dead" I tell him.

"Fine, tag along. But stay out of my way" he tells me. We soon join a girl that looks exactly like Kathy. Except by her scent she is human.

"Hey. Have you heard from him? Do you know what he's up to?" she asks Damon.

"My baby brother is not exactly my priority right now. Take this" he says handing her a stake. "Come on, let's go" he tells us and we leave.

"Who are you?" she asks me.

"Taylor Lockwood, you?" I ask.

"Elena" she says. I smell more blood and lock eyes with Damon. He runs off and I follow with Elena. We find has killed two other people.

"Rose, stop!" Damon shouts. She rushes toward him but he grabs her and pins her on the ground. "Rose, Rose! It's me, it's Damon. It's Damon" he tells her.

Her face is normal again as she comes back to her senses. She looks at the girl's body. She starts crying. "Did I do this? I never meant to hurt anyone. I never wanted to hurt anyone" she cries.

"I know" Damon says. She looks up at Elena and apologizes to her. "Come on, let's get you home" he says.

"No, I don't have a home, I haven't had a home in so long" Rose cries. "Oh make it stop, please make it stop! I hate it, make it stop!" she wails. Damon carries her in his arms and starts walking away.

"Damon, can you do what needs to be done?" I ask.

"I'll handle it" he states. Elena picks up the stake and trials after the pair. I text Liz, telling her we had pick up the trial and Damon is seeing where it leads. I go back to the grill joining Jules.

"I hope you're happy. That vampire killed at least three innocent people today" I tell her. Beyond pissed.

"Did you kill her?" she asks.

"No, I left Damon to do it" I tell her.

"You trust a vampire?" she asks in disbelief.

"No, but I saw how much seeing Rose suffering hurt him. He'll do the right thing and put her out of her misery" I state. Just then I see Tyler appear.

"Tyler, thanks for coming" Jules says as he joins us. I give her a look.

"So what do you want from me?" he asks her.

"Just to be your friend. Mason would have wanted that. I know about Mason and you. Your aunt" Jules tells him.

"She's one too" I tell him as he looks at me.

"I know you're a werewolf and I know your little friend Caroline is a vampire" Jules states.

"How do you know about Caroline?" Tyler asks her looking at me.

"I didn't say anything" I tell him.

"You can't sniff them out?" Jules asks him and he says nothing. "Oh my god. You're brand new. How many times have you turned?" she asks. Jules leans over and places her hand on his. "Hey, I can help you" she states. I rip her hand off of his.

"He has me, you are most likely to get him killed" I snap.

"Do you know where Mason is?" Tyler asks us.

"He's dead, Tyler. He was murdered" Jules tells him.

"Shut up Jules!" I snap. "We don't know that for sure" I tell Tyler.

"Sure we do" Jules says smirking. "You want to know who murdered him?" she asks him.

"Just stop" he says.

"Your little blonde vampire did" she tells him.

"I said, shut up!" I snap flashing my eyes at her.

"No, Caroline would never do this" Tyler tells her. Defending his friend. I smile, he is a better man then his father.

"She and her little vampire friends were behind it, Tyler" Jules tells him.

"Caroline is the only vampire in town" Tyler states.

"Is that what she told you? She lied. This town is crawling with vampires but don't worry, we'll get them" Jules tells him.

"I told you to leave the pack out of this" I snarl.

"Who are you?" Tyler asks her.

"I'm your friend. There are others like us and they're on their way" she states. I slap her across the face. She snarls flashing her eyes.

"I told you to shut up and not involve the pack. You keep doing this Jules, I will prove who is the true alpha" I snap. "Lets go Tyler" I say and lead him out of the bar. "Don't trust a word she says, otherwise she'll get you killed" I tell him.

"What's going on Aunt Taylor?" he asks me.

"Something that could get you killed, so please stay out of it and away from Jules" I tell him.

"I'll try my best" he states. "But I want to know" he adds.

"And you will, when you're ready" I tell him.

"Is Uncle Mason really dead?" he asks me.

"I'm not going to lie to you Tyler, it looks that way. But we have no proof it was the vampires here. We still need more information" I tell him.

"I could help" he states.

"What kind of aunt would I be if I let you go against vampires? A bad one, I got this Tyler. Focus on school and stay away from Jules" I tell him. He nods his head as we arrive back at his house. We part and I call Stevie. I find it is true, the pack is coming to Mystic Falls. If Jules endangers my nephew, I will be putting her in her place. Then she and her boyfriend Brady can go find a new pack.
