Chapter 4 Island Stupid Island
Sophia's POV
I woke up in my tee pee me and Ben had made and are sharing. I got up and went outside. Building a shelter isn't the only thing we did yesterday. We also gathered jungle food but only on the outskirts of the forest. I had stayed up all night coming up with ideas of what we need to do today. So far we need to:
1. Gather wood for the fire and torches (bamboo)
2. Get jungle food(coconuts, berries, editable plants, etc.)
3. Find plants for medicine
4. Heat up some sea water to get some usable water
Yeah it does seem like a lot but considering the effort it will be. I just hope all of us can get along to do it. I crawled out of the "tent" and stretched. The sun was just starting to come up. We went to bed early, I think. We're going by the sun and it wasn't down yet so I figured I slept some good hours. I looked over the horizon at the water shinning in the sunrise. How could something look so beautiful at a time like this?
The whole sky should be gray. Everyone should be mourning us. Wait, did they even know we were missing? It's possible the government and news didn't know we were smissing yet. All of a sudden Aubrey came out of her tent. (I'm just gonna call the tepees tents.) . "Morning," I told her in a morning, straggly voice. "Hey, ready for some work today?" She groaned. "I have no choice do I?"
I smiled, "Nope."

Lily POV
Later that day we had lots of stuff. Plants for medicine, enough torch wood to last us a while, different jungle fruit and fish, and some buckets of water. The buckets were made from some vines and wood we found in the jungle. They worked pretty well considering how they were made. After we had all that finished the boys worked on some better suitable homes for us and me and the rest of the girl worked on dinner. About sun down we lit up our some-what torches and had dinner. Fish, some berries and coconut milk plus shavings, if you wanted it on your fish for flavor.
Later I went into my tent and started a story in my journal which somehow survived the crash. It was about a guy and a girl who met at a somber amp and realized they went to the same school. I had been working on it back at home and never finished.
Home.
A place I'd really like to be. Were I could be with my family. I should have done more. Hooked up with Cory. Finish this book and maybe publish one. Spend more time with my family. Get a decent job. But now I can't. I'm on this stupid island.
I looked at my story and realized I wrote that all down and hot tears were slowly rolling down my face. My journal had gotten a little wet to. I wiped my face with my jacket sleeves and erased what I had accidentally wrote. I closed the journal and slipped it back in my ripped up suitcase. I laid down to go to sleep and tried to calm down. Focus on nothing. But it was hard considering our days might be number. And this tripped sure did make us realize that life was always numbered.
There may not ever be a tomorrow.
