Chapter 67 - Revealed.
I licked my lips sensually, smiling as I wrapped myself tighter around him, our hands hooking into each other whilst the birds sing their blues in the sky. I attempt to rest my head on his sweaty torso before he hooked my leg over him.
"Are you ok?" he asked me breathily before chuckling.
"If I dont move yea." I comment, speaking on behalf of the soreness in between my legs. A fresh trail of sweat glides down my temple nearing my eye before I used his body to wipe my forehead, Peering up at him through the hood of my lashes.
My soft brown orbs met his deep blue, I use my free fingers to trail his jawline and run it through his damped dark roots, There we layed in the moist grass bed letting the soil soak in the juicy aftermath of our bodies. I try to not smile at what just happened prior but the close proximity of is naked body against mine and the hard shaft that twitches against my thigh wasn't helping me.
"This brings back memories." I joked to him glancing around the surroundings, the two o'clock sun now rested in the middle of the horizon, the glow hour was almost upon us. Have we really been fucking for that long? I am not mad at all.
He propped up resting on his elbows, glancing around the horizon, "A few differences" he huffs, "The horse, the house and there is no lake." I giggled feeling his massive biceps trying to wrap palm around it.
"You're beautiful" he whispered to me eyeing my naked state. The look in his eyes made me gulp.
"I'm too sore Rowan, just give me like a few moments."
Laying back down with a smug, "Very well."
Our fingers play with each other in the air, my tiny palms against his large slender ones, while the horse grunts in the distance.
I cringed. wondering, If horses could talk she would certainly tell everyone how animalistic humans can get during sex. I feel bad she had to see that.
"I'm surprised no one has come looking for us yet." I asked tracing his biceps.
"I told one of the staff that I'm taking you on a different detour and we might be a while."
"It's a long while."
He huffs thickly, "he already knew what I meant."
"H-he - he did?" I could feel my face turning red. Cringing.
"Men have a way of understanding each other." he shrugged.
"Rowan that's embarrassing." My once seductive whisper now turned to a hiss, fucking hell. "What if they heard us?"
"You mean you?" he raised a thick eyebrow at me tauntingly.
My heart nearly collapsed, "Rowan this is humiliating and -"
A Calloused palm met my cheek, smoothly gliding his thumb across until he left them on my lips, "My love, like I said. Men have ways of communicating with each other, obviously he knew to give us a few distance and he actually recommended we come here away from everyone.
The answer didn't help the anxiety but it did have a calming effect, that is until they noticed my limping, I wanted to bury myself. Twice now I would have humiliated myself on the tree grounds and ... - wait.
Tree grounds?
My brows furrow in question trying to remember something. There was something about my sentence that sounded familiar, deep and lost in thought until it finally hit me. The first day, under the tree with the blanket ... "Hey Rowan?"
He glanced at me with a smile, looking into his eyes I search for any clues, could he have known? is he even aware, or has he been tricked to not know that his grandmother is full of lies. Lost under my lust and hunger I forgotten the reason as to why I am here, or even agreed to be here to begin with. "Could I talk to you?"
He hummed in response and I froze, how and where should I begin? where to start; A or Z? my brain swarms making the surrounding resemblance uncomfortable. "H-has it always been you and you're grandmother?"
With the mention of his grandmother came a change in demeanor. He glanced up to the horizon in thought, I watch his eyes go deep gliding and following any moving butterfly trying to remember his younger life. Heavens know no one can remember something so early on, but it was worth an effort.
"As far as I can remember, it has just been us ... why?" he peered down to me, eyes full of question and uncertainty as he awaits the reason.
How much could I spew without starting a war, is it alright that I just ask my boyfriend?
"A-and that's it right? n-no one else?"
The softness of my tone makes his brows furrow.
Within seconds Rowan is sat upright. "What has my grandmother done to displease you?" accusatory than questioning, the tone was laced with subtle hate and mistrust.
It seems he senses there is something amiss, "Do you not get along with your grandmother Rowan?" I suck in sharply from the pain in between my legs trying sit up, his eyes follow my move before trailing it over my naked body.
Reaching over to my dress, "She has ways that I do not agree with" he speaks softly handing the dress to me.
"What do you mean?"
He crossed his legs staring at the horse through the mini holes of the tree, "She is distrustful, manipulative."
Well it seems he already figured out the basics, how far could I push? "H-has she ever spoke to you about you're ... " my voice softens trailing away, afraid to not hit a nerve. "Mother?"
He whipped his head towards me and my heart fell to my asshole. "I -i am sorry ... I didn't mean to intrude I am so sorry!" tears start brimming from his glare.
... "She never spoke of her"
What? "What?"
"She never speaks about her in the house ... ever. And if she ever does she'll leave the room."
So that is a red flag, "Have you ever asked about her?"
"She will never tell me. I don't even have a picture of her."
I might have pushed my curiosity a little too far, ... "Do you think she is alive?" I wanted to bite my tongue, shoot myself or hell even jump in front of a moving vehicle, how could I say such a thing? Though his expression is hard, the softness in his eyes read an emotion, a deep sadness a swirling emotion of contained pain.
"Rowan ... I-"
"Possibly ... just like my grandfather."
"Grandfather?"
"My first grandfather" he clarifies staring into my oblivious expression.
"You had a first grandfather?"
"My mother couldn't have been born without one." he huffed.
"Oh right." I clear my throat from the awkward. My interest sparked, he died? I mean ... duh, the man probably roamed the earth with dinosaurs.
But murder? "how do you mean?"
"I once brought him up when Jim wasn't around, she eluded the subject giving me very minimal"
"But ... What makes you think she ... killed him?" My Eyes glided to the right in question leaning in.
"I found severed fingers in a box."
....... I could feel My inner system malfunctioning, heartbeat accelerates as the words processed, soaking into my membrane like a sponge. All I could do is stare at him blankly with my mouth tearing to the ground, even nature was at an unease with the comment; whistling and howling while blowing the branches.
"Whenever she thinks she is alone she'd head down to the basement with a glass of wine and spend hours. There Was a scent coming every-time that became too much to bear and I explored on my own." Rowan noticed the look in my eyes and ended it with a nod.
There Was no need to dig deeper She murdered her own daughter. But why?
My hand latched around His, "Get out of there, she is dangerous." I breathe brokenly.
"She is of no threat to me my love, I believe that I am of use to her so she would not try anything."
"Of Use to her?"
"It would appear I am of a prize, I know not yet, but I am of great importance."
"Is that why your still there? Vying for her approval and her satisfaction?"
Eyes distant as he shook his head slightly. "No."
"Than why? Why can't you just leave, stay with me let's get out of here."
"I can't."
My blood boiled, "Why!?"
He turned to me slowly, eyes softening "Because who would protect Jim?"
The horse suddenly jolts from the outside breaking our eye contact, she neighs at something, Rowan rises to fetch his clothes. The soreness between my legs hit like bricks, painful electrical shocks as my thighs rubbed together or even if I move a muscle at all.
"Master Rowan? Mistress Jane?" A hoarse voice on the other side of the tree.
"We will be right out." Rowan says. Lending me his hand to aid me, he pressed a gentle kiss to my forehead before lifting me bridal style once we were fully clothed. There stood one of the staff men Rowan was talking to earlier, the same man that knew I was hiding in the closet in Seth's room.
He glanced around the scene before he looked at us, a look of shock and remorse as he makes his way over, "Oh dear do forgive my ignorance, would the lady need medical help?" I watched him try and hide a smirk
The acting of these people are astronomical, they can go to different characters in seconds. "I am fine thank you so much." I smiled slyly.
"I beg pardon of the interruption sir and madam but your grandmother has been on a scour for you." He laid his hands on his side with a stoic expression.
Rowan huffs before effortlessly raising me high up to strap myself on the horse, while the butler looks away. I winced deeply sitting on the saddle, he did that like I was nothing but a feather.
Every time I think about my body dysmorphia he reminds that I have nothing to worry about. I mean I know I am beautiful but society tells me if I am not thin, I'm ugly and unworthy.
"Go on in the home Jane, I'll meet you in our room later."
I blushed furiously to the word our, my cheeks burning, but Matters of importance are at hand. "Wait, I want to stay with you."
"Jane -"
"No Rowan, I want to go with you."
He sucked in a large breath deeply before slowly looking at me stoically, debating with his own thoughts then turning to the butler, "Very well."
In silence we all returned side by side, though the horse walks steadily the painful thud in my pussy was evident. Rowan continues conversation with the butler while I looked back at the tree one final time, constantly smiling and blushing about what just happened. My heart fluttering hearing him speak in the distance simultaneously, Once again we made memories. Creating our own love story, and it is one that that I will never forget, and he is the one my heart will never stop beating for.
Finally we reach the staircase to the Devils Mansion as the butler leads the horse away, through the whole return I can sense the change in Rowan's behavior, a change in his demeanor even the look in his eyes were swirling in darkness, already on guard. A struggle to contain whatever rage it is within, I gulped. I finally put my foot in my mouth, I should have waited to speak to him along with the detective or someone that could break things down. However the sinister part of me hoped he unleashed everything.
"Ms. Jane?"
I shook from my name being called coming face to face with a frantic Annette, "Yes."
She looked at me all shriveled before glancing at Rowan, a look in her eyes before she cleared her throat. "I apologies, I have not seen you for the day and hoped you were alright."
"Oh, I am sorry I was uh ... embracing nature."
Facepalm. That's the best I could come up with?
"Please let us get you into the bath."
Wait no, "Uh, wait I was going to go with - "
"Go with her Jane." Like an approaching storm Rowans voice was dark, deep and yet calm, rendering everyone near silent. I suddenly wanted to push no further.
"Uh -ok." I try and force a smile, stopping myself from running to him, I feel myself walking up the stairs before losing the sight of him above the steps.
My thoughts on him the whole way to my room, quiet and uneasy. With a spa of twenty four hours I witnessed the dark side of him, a thin string ready to snap at one tug. The debate runs rampant, Should I worry? lost in my thoughts and I mindlessly pressed my breast onto a soft back, nearly shoving the individual onto the ground.
Frantically I try and console her just in case, ignoring the pain sneaking up on my breast. "I wasn't paying attention, I was just -"
"It's alright Ms. Jane" she answers, trying to calm me, "Are you alright?"
"I'm fine, but I am the one that ran into you."
"No. Are you alright?"
My eyes moved from her hands to her eyes, a dark questioning look as if she is urging something.
"Yes?"
She nods, "Very well. Please shower madam and I'll prepare some food for you." Red lips stretch into a smile before she steps beside me. "Fresh towels are laid out on the bed, clothes washed and neatly folded on your counter. Please take your time, The masters of the house have stepped out for urgent matter so please roam freely." She spoke so fast I only heard the last sentence.
I thought I was allowed to roam freely regardless? Ah, they aren't here. I need to speak to detective as soon as possible. "I-is detective -"
"He is in his quarters and will be meeting you later today." She curtsies before closing the door, with the sound of the click I hastily headed towards Rowan's room with high hopes, empty.
At least the Komodo dragon's things are gone.
I sighed, uneasy and filed with anxiety, my mind blank even from the warmth of the shower to dressing up, time went on and the peak of sunset was beginning, I haven't heard from him all day. Wallowing in my sadness and anxiety before glancing between my bed and the door. If I lay down I won't stop thinking about it, Exploring it is.
The hallways are empty of all butlers and maids, cold dark corridor with the unsettling paintings and Mona lisa like Portraits on the wall, Not even that fazed me. I walk for what felt like moments until I can finally hear voices in the distance, spewing commands. The familiar deep rasp, Thomas. I eyed everyone from the steps; All walk with haste as they hold plates, arranging utensils. Gold and white uniforms.
None have noticed me.
I guess downstairs was out of question. Ready to depart back into my room I caught sight of something From the corner of my eyes, something moved. A doorway at the end of the hall half open, glowing sun emanates under the seam before a shadow passed by. Detective?
In curiosity I make way towards the door trepidatiously in case I was told otherwise, adjusting my eyes from the glowing beaming sun that kisses my face with its rays. A Library, Oceans of books arranged my color on mountain high shelves, stories of fairy tale, horror and biographies neatly aligned in the rightful in the sections. My mouth a gape, stunned and in awe at the sight, to a bookworm like myself this was a matrimony, a cave of wonders, just like Bell when she entered the Library at the Beasts home.
I roam around feeling the smooth covers, giggling when I spot my favorite Authors and My favorite books.
Hooked.
The Haunting of Adeline.
That Sik Luv.
The Ritual.
Funny, I went straight to the dark romance section. Where should I begin? I found my way to cope, occupying my mind from Rowan and instead turning it to my Wattpad boyfriends, Zade, Aero and Rhys.
I glanced out the clear window, peering to the dark green horizon. Near the scenery was a white chair with matching fuzz rug and a table if I need a drink. "Wow, this is awesome." I giggle to myself out loud.
"I knew you'd like it."
Ice cold chills zapped right through my spine and I gasped spinning to the sound of a baritone voice, chest heaving violently as I catch my breath. Out he appeared, black dress shirt rolled to his elbows neatly tucked into his grey trousers, An ever so devilish smirk on his face while his emeralds traced up my body before meeting my eyes.
"Jane, nice to see you. I hope the room is to your liking, now you can brainstorm for your next chapters." Cameron chuckles, stuffing his hands into his pockets before leaning against the shelf.
I gulped looking at him, processing his last sentence. Not a single thought remaining and I was setting the book down hastily trying to head to the door only to come face to chest with him as he stepped in front of me, my nostrils scorched from the expensive cologne tickling my throat.
Galring my watery eyes at him, "Please excuse me."
"But why?" he stepped in closer.
I supposed the is the reason to Christine's happiness and Seth's early departure, "I want to leave, please step aside or -"
"Or what exactly? threatening me in my own him is classified as invasion, and it is illegal you know that?"
"So is assault against woman, and your clearly not respecting my boundaries." I retorted.
"But again" he huffs. "You are in my home." he leans in closer, mint breath fan my face, expensive cologne burning my nose.
"Touch me and I'll scream." My last attempt, I have a feeling Rowan isn't coming this time, I need to stand on my own two feet. it seemed to have work, a momentary pause while we held each others gazes before he shrugs backing away, both arms raised in surrender.
"Please ma'am by all means. I wouldn't want to end up like Kevin." he smirks.
I roll my eyes, the distance he put gave me enough wiggle room for me and my wide hips to get by, Im nearing the door when I heard him chuckle.
"So what's on the next chapter? are you going to add this one in there?"
I ignore, proceeding to head for the exit.
"Nice description of me by the way, next time try and be more minimal with your lover you whore."
Like a tire screeching the road I halted my steps, appalled. "Excuse me?"
"Please by all means, whatever you sluts like to read now a days does not concern me. However what does catch my attention is you including me in the story." Hands snugged in his pockets while he menacingly walked towards me.
"Involve you?"
"You know." he chuckles, it appeared he was holding back by the way his shoulders kept kept bouncing. "C'mon Jane, were friends aren't we? you could tell me. I myself sometimes take interest in a little novel and your story caught my eye."
My chest is starting to heave, bones shaking out of fear but I swallow thickly. "I don't know what your talking about Cameron."
He cocked his head before he pulls out his phone, "Recognize this?" My eyes met with the bright orange display before loading the icon, Wattpad. I felt my colors drain, i fight to breath but my chest constricts painfully, how did he -
"How did I find this?"
I furrow my brows before swallowing, did I just -
"No, you didn't say anything out loud, silly. Your body language just says it all."
Violently my heart thrashes against its cage, my colors draining leaving my skin cold and pale.
"I take the silence as an answer." He huffed.
"N-no. I just um." Lord end my suffering I beg. I cleared my throat trying to steady my heart rate, "Wattpad is the best, I read from it all the time, I could give you book recommendations if - " I swallowed the remaining words, Darkly Cameron steps into my space, the flames around him put me on edge.
"Don't play coy with me whore, your friend already told me everything we needed to know."
Friend? "Friend?" I think out loud. "What friend? what are you even talking about I have never -"
He only chuckles breathily, "Why don't you ask the source yourself, In the meantime consider yourself an outcast of New York." He winked, "You have a good day Jane, we will be in touch soon."
I held my stance until he is out of view, the sound of the door clicking behind me as he stepped made ay through the drumming of my heart and I instantly fell to my knees, huffing, tearing and coughing.
No, just no, it can't be.
How did?
Who did?
Why did? all the unanswered questions were nothing compared to reality, Cameron knows.
Once Cameron knows, everyone knows. My bones shake and I found my body malfunctioning, struggling to stand. Steady now, steady, I wobbled at first before I was out the door to my room, from there I witness the changes and demeanor of the staff casting me remorseful looks. Eyes forward trying to get to a phone, my blood boils, a ticking time bomb I became; leaving fire in my foot prints. My vision turns tunnel Nearly tumbling and knocking everything over.
Only one person that knows such information, only one person that is an open door to this possible downfall. Tanika and I fight along side each other, only one person could fight to defend the enemy. Having the gall to continually ring my cell she.
Steam blows from my nose and ears, trying hard to not throw something across the room. I need to confirm this, the very tiny part of me still wished it wasn't what I thought.
First ring and she sent me to voicemail, my veins surge. Second attempt, voicemail.
Calm down, calm down. Inhaling a deep breath I try one final attempt, the phone clicks, someone sniffles on the other end.
"Truth." I growled.
With hesitation, I hear her cries. Muffled like as if she is cuddling a pillow tightly. "I'm sorry Jane." She struggled before sobbing.
My chest heaved violently, eyes widening and blurred. No.
"I didn't mean to Jane, I swear." She frantically speaks at once, collecting her breath in between pauses. "I made a mistake, I am so sorry"
The ramming in my chest silence all things around me. Yet still Try to gather everything.
"A problem Jane, a serious problem" She yells.
"What is it? What's going on?" I shudder.
"I'm sorry Jane, I told Philip about the book, I'm so sorry."
