overwhelming: a slam poem

The sound of water falling from the sink's pipe, overwhelms me.
The brightness of light overwhelms me.
The brightness of my phone overwhelms me.
The sound of people overwhelms me.
People overwhelm me.
Social situations overwhelm me.
Love overwhelms me.
People touching me, hugging me, or having contact with me, overwhelms me.
The prescription of my glasses overwhelms me.
My sensory gets overwhelmed easily.
I get overwhelmed easily.
I can't help it.
I tried to resist it.
I tried so hard.
But it only makes things worse.
It only makes me want to cover my ears and close my eyes.
It makes me clench my teeth and turn down the volume or brightness of my phone or radio.
It makes me want to scream and break things,
It becomes too much.
Everything becomes too much.
Everything overwhelms me.
