Healing is more then what it seems,
It is more than getting by.
It is more than forcing a smile.
It is more than fake laughter.
It is more than memories left to rot in our minds.
It is more than drinking and popping pills to forget the promised times.
It is more than the screams that echo in the deafening night.
It is more than the whaling of tears.
It is more than the numbness that etched its way across your heart.
It is accepting what happened.
It is accepting that things won't be answered,
It is accepting that you were hurt,
It is accepting that whoever hurt you was just a chapter in your life despite all the beautiful things they told you.
It is accepting that you are worth more than they promised.
It is accepting that you're better off without them.
It is accepting yourself.
It is loving yourself.
It is putting yourself first.
Healing is a process.
It is long, some days are worse than others,
But slowly and surely,
Healing is the outcome.
