I failed to mention: a slam poem

I failed to mention, that I wished you would've stayed.
I failed to mention, that I should've put my walls down for you.
I failed to mention, that I could've done better...but you could've done better too.
I failed to mention, that I trusted you more than others.
I failed to mention, that I still remember your name– and that I wished I could've saved you.
I failed to mention, that I shouldn't have given you my heart.
I failed to mention, that maybe I was wrong but what you did to me was worse than erroneous.
I failed to mention, that after all these years– I still think about you and how you're doing.
I failed to mention, I cried over you.
I failed to mention, I would've sacrificed my mental health for you.
I failed to mention, I would've done anything for you.
I failed to mention, that despite all of these– that things happen for a reason but these small confessions will release me of the past and present.
I failed to mention, that with or without all of you– I will get better.
