CHAPTER TWO.

NIGHT DREW upon San Francisco and Alessia was bored. She laid on her bed, throwing a knife and catching it. It was quiet outside, most people having disappeared into the comforts of their room for the evening.

It was the parade for the day of the dead tonight, Alessia having gone each year, even though she was always advised against it by Master Lin. With him not wanting her to draw any type of attention to herself, as he knew that one accidental shove into Alessia could cause an outright rampage. Her own version of a parade of the dead coming true.

Catching the throwing knife one last time, Alessia sat herself up whilst scanning around her room as she thought about possible outcomes for tonight. She could go to the day of the dead parade and have fun or sit in her room and be bored for the rest of the night. It was a no brainer really.

"Fuck it." She muttered, throwing her legs over, placing her feet on the wooden floorboards. She got herself ready, throwing on her doc martens, alongside her essential weapons. One thing Alessia loved about going to the day of the dead parade was the makeup and makeup people wore. She could place her hood up, and blend in with the different costumes and face paint that was presented throughout the night.

Throwing her makeup on, a little bit of red lipstick not hurting anybody, Alessia was ready to go. The red was the pop of colour she needed, after all her whole outfit ranged from her black boots all the way up to her black leather jacket.

With the moon lighting up the dark sky, it was easy for Alessia to grab her matching black quiver and bow, her securing that in the bag she was taking with her tonight.

It was always good to be prepared.

Even if she meant she was too prepared. But that could never happen. No one in her style of life could ever be too equipped with weapons.

After having found out from the green haired boy earlier today, Alessia knew the security around the exit of the school would be tighter than usual- more eyewitnesses to see her disappear into the night. Even though with just a flick of her hair and a smile she could get herself out of any situation, Alessia knew better. That and sneaking in and out of the school was always a more fun and exciting experience.

And she lived for the thrill.

Strips of lights lit up the streets, red umbrellas being held up in the air. It was a beautiful parade to be able to see each year. With banners of painted skulls to go along with the painted faces of both adults and children, Alessia was in love. The whole creativity and the lack of anxiousness was present through this night of the year, something Alessia always welcomed to see. Especially when this specific area of San Francisco was prone to an new level of crime the last few months.

So for Alessia to see such carefree behaviours from both adults and children, it brought a smile to Alessia's face.

Familiarity of a red dress came into Alessia's eyeview, bringing her to be on full alert. She wasn't sure for certain if this was who she assumed it was, but when her eyes drifted down to the two fans in her hands, Alessia knew. It was Maria.

She was out on this mission too? Alessia thought, her unintentionally rolling her eyes at Master Lin even thinking of bringing a girl so unpredictable like Maria into a busy environment. It was risky.

"Good job i did come after all." Alessia mumbled to herself, smiles flashing onto her face when walking through the crowds formed around the main parade attraction. Keeping her gaze on the girl whose 'mission attire' fitted well with tonight's parade, Alessia lurked in the shadows, keeping a safe enough distance away from Maria, but still close enough to avoid loosing her.

Mutters of annoyance left her mouth, her tracker on Maria having disappeared as she disappeared into the larger crowd. Glancing up to the sky, empty rooftops met her eye line.

"That might be an idea."

Looking down at the crowd instead of having to make her way through it popped into her head as an idea, one idea she liked the idea of.

Perched on the roof of a building, Alessia watched the streets below her. Cheers and rounds of applause helped make up the happy and cheerful atmosphere that surrounded the streets of San Francisco tonight. Sounds of motorbikes revving and cars beeping flooded through Alessia's ears as she glanced at the next rooftop beside her.

Having seen a taller man, replicating Willie's height, Alessia braced herself for the jump across to the next rooftop. With being able to have a clearer few, she saw it was in fact Willie Lewis. And it looked like he had find the star of tonight's mission.

"They'll be fine." She declared to herself. No matter how many times she told herself that, she couldn't bring to stop herself from climbing down from the rooftop, so she could keep an eye on Willie and the boy he was following.

Over the course of being here at Kings Dominion, Willie didn't care about how many times Alessia would dismiss him, tell him to fuck off, he was always still so nice to her. He knew about that lack of trust she had, and the large reputation she held on her shoulders- and for him not to enforce a friendship on Alessia just to have her "on their team", she greatly appreciated that.

That was probably one of the reasons why as to why she was watching the boy so intensely- sure she wouldn't mind a bit of chaos, but Alessia was always one to contribute to the events of chaos, whether that was ending it or beginning it, Alessia always loved a challenge.

"Come on Willie, where are you going?" She whispered.

The sound of one of the motorbike she heard earlier came back to Alessia's ears, her head glancing around her. She saw someone sat on the motorbike at the end of the road, small and lean. She noticed the figure looking her way- well from where the helmet was directed to, it looked like.

Alessia raised her hand, giving the figure a wave before continuing her walk behind Willie. The movements Willie were making behind the figure infront, who held his head down, his hood from this jacket covering all parts of his head, were suspicious. He couldn't even try to make it seem like he wasn't stalking a random person down the street.

The red and black stripes that made up the blue coat the boy was wearing allowed Alessia to keep an eye on him- the target- and the rest of the group of students from kings dominion who Alessia had seen dotted around the area. All of them watching this boy.

Huh, wonder what he did then. She wondered. It must have been something major,

This makes life more interesting.

He swayed back and forth, immediately catching the brunette's attention. Was he drunk? High? he certainly looked it she thought. The crowd from the day of the dead came back into view for the girl, Alessia maintaining a close enough distance to Willie and the boy in front of him.

When she saw the familiar red dress and makeup that covered Maria Salazar's face. And it seemed the boy who Willie had been following had too. She had to give to Maria, no matter how insanely unstable she may have been at times, her whole aesthetic when killing people, well sometimes Alessia appreciated it. Other times she thought it was too much. However on a night like this, celebrating the day of the dead, she appreciated Maria's costume, as it did well in making her blend in with the civilians around her.

She couldn't distinguish what Willie had said, but something the taller boy had said made the smaller brunette run off in a fright. And a heartbeat later, chaos broke. Maria swung her fan, of which was not a normal fan, the edges made up of spikes, allowing her to slice through one of the police officers necks.

It was a clean slice, Alessia would admit. And when the bright light blinded her for a second, she saw the familiar green hair that was Billy, skating across the road. She didn't know where he was going, and frankly she didn't care in this moment in time.

Her only focus was on the boy that broke off into a run down the street.
