Chapter 6: Partners w/ the Target

“Himura Kimeko,” you told the hotel clerk and gave her an ID and credit card.

The woman at the desk raised a brow as she glanced over to Kakashi who had his arms crossed and seem to have his eyes glued on the floor.

“And husband. Give us a room for two.” you said to wave off the suspicion the woman shot at you.

“May I have his ID please?” the woman was only staring at Kakashi and seemed to have lost attention to you.

“Look, I’m really sorry but we are in a really, really bad situation right now and when I say bad I mean my husband doesn’t have his ID with him,” you told the woman with narrowed eyes expecting her to turn her attention to you but she didn’t. Instead, she just ignored your reason.

Kakashi looked up from the floor and took out a piece of paper. You watched him as he wrote something in it before giving it to the woman. The woman gave him a quick smile before pulling out a key from a drawer and handing it to you.

“Enjoy your stay,” she said, still looking at Kakashi.

You swore you heard a squeal from the woman as you picked up your bag and headed to the room that’s given to both of you. “What did you write on the paper?” you asked.

“My number,” he casually replied as you both got on the elevator.

You chuckled and leaned against the wall of the elevator at the thought that even though the woman could not see his full face she had found him appealing and attractive. How much more if that mask is off of him?

The elevator came to a halt and as soon as you both got in the room and had settled your bag on the desk, Kakashi had grabbed you by the arm and had you pinned against a wall. He had taken a knife out and had it pointed across your neck. His face was so close to yours you could almost smell his minty breath behind the mask.

You didn’t panic, nor did you find this surprising. You knew this was going to happen since you took him with you into the apartment. No, since you had let out a gun at the club and fought the Akatsuki.

“Who are you?” Kakashi asked with a low growl.

“Guess,” you said in a fearless tone.

“Do you work for Orochimaru?”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“Then why are you with Sasuke?”

“Hmm?” your mind groped for a quick excuse. If he had heard your conversation with Sasuke at your apartment then you are caught red-handed.

“He was also there at the club. I know you’re with him.”

“I don’t know who he is. I am an independent spy and I work for the government. I don’t team up with anyone else.”

“Then why did you take me with you?”

“I can’t answer that under threat.”

“You will or I will cut your throat.”

“Let’s see which kills first. Your knife on my throat, or my gun on your stomach?”

Kakashi let out a short gasp as he looked down and saw that you had also pointed a gun at him.

“Gotcha…” you whispered as you smiled coyly at him.

“I gotcha first,” Kakashi raised a brow.

You shrugged your shoulders under his grip. “Fair enough.”

Kakashi moved away from you and put his knife back in his pocket. “If you can’t tell me why you brought me here with you, then I must go.”

“You’re from the Leaf, aren’t you?”

“It doesn’t matter.”

“One of the Leaf’s goals is to eliminate the Akatsuki, isn’t it?”

“So what if it is?”

“Team up with me. I’ll help you take them down.”

“Not gonna work,” Kakashi turned and headed to the door.

“I know you don’t trust anyone. But I want you to know that I feel the same way. I don’t trust you even though I know you have good intentions. Yet I’m asking you to team up with me so we could both achieve our goals.”

Kakashi’s hand was already on the doorknob. But what you said made him stop and turn back to you.

“I’m listening,” he said.

“We both know that there are large prices on top of every Akatsuki’s head. I only want the money because this is what I do for a living. In your case you can get promoted or even become richer yourself.”

He walked towards you and stood a few inches taller than you. “For the money.”

“For the money. So it’s a deal?”

“Okay.”

“Wonderful. You hungry? How about we grab something to eat outside?”

“Sure.”

“I’ll just take a shower.”

You went over to your backpack to get a few clothes—a fresh pair of undergarments, leggings and sleeves. You set them on the bed before heading to the bathroom. Kakashi watched you cautiously. You knew he was trying to find out who you really are, and you knew that in the next several days you’ll be spending with him, you’re gonna have to try your best not to show him any signs that you’ve been bred by one of his organization’s archenemy. You know you’re pretty good at pretending so you didn’t have any worries. You turned on the water and enjoyed the cold and refreshing shower in the next fifteen minutes.

You got out of the bathroom in a bathrobe and headed to the mirror. Kakashi went to the bathroom to take a shower himself. You took a few things from your backpack---a hair dye and a comb. You dyed your hair the new color so as to change your appearance to keep your identity from the Akatsuki. You also changed contact lens.

Once you’re done, you glanced at Kakashi who had just exited the bathroom and had changed into a new pair of shirt and pants. He was now on the bed and reading some sort of book. You quickly finished your job and remembered the wound he had on his chest. You thought it’s about time you remove the plaster.

You took out a fresh plaster and walked towards Kakashi.

“Would you mind taking your shirt off? Your plaster needs to be changed,” you said as you sat next to him at the bed.

“I’m fine,” Kakashi said.

“If you don’t change it it’ll get infected.”

Kakashi let out a sigh and adjusted himself in the bed, making him sit closer to you. Slowly he removed his shirt, widening your eyes in the process as his glorious body is exposed before you.

“Impressed?” Kakashi asked, snapping you out of wonder.

“For a girl who had seen something like that for the first time, you can say that,” you unconsciously wiped a little drool that came out of your mouth and turned your attention into the plaster’s package and opened it.

“First time? Then how were you able to remove the bullet and put on the plaster a while ago without seeing this?”

“I had my eyes closed,” you answered truthfully as you snapped the plaster’s package open.

You’re not sure if he believed that but you saw Kakashi nod a little and tried to remove the plaster by himself but he stopped when pain shot on his stomach.

“It’s okay you can just remove it quick. The pain is natural,” you told him.

“It’s too much.”

“Then let me remove it,” you tried to put your hand over him to remove the plaster but he snapped your hand away.

“Seriously? You are a leaf agent. You must've been stabbed or shot before so I know you’re used to the pain.”

“It’s too much,” he repeated.

You groaned in frustration and stood from the bed. Kakashi put his legs down the floor and got his shirt. He was about to put it back on but you snatched it away from him.

“Hey!” he tried to grab the shirt from you but you put it behind you.

“You have to change that plaster!”

“What if I don’t want to?” he teased you and crossed his arms to prevent you from getting your hands on the plaster on his stomach.

You smirked and you knew exactly how to make him do what you say. You quickly untied your bathrobe in front of him.

“O-oi what are you doing?!”

You didn’t answer him. Instead, you snatched the upper part of your bathrobe open, knowing that you didn’t wear any undergarments yet; you had your chest exposed to Kakashi. Though he wore a mask, you knew that his jaw dropped as his eyes widened in shock along with a low and prolonged gasp at the splendid sight before him. His hands involuntarily moved from its crossing position to the sides of his hips. You took the opportunity and in less than a second, you removed the plaster sticking on his stomach.

Kakashi groaned and bent down to sink in the pain the removed plaster had caused. You tied back your bathrobe and pushed him back to the bed, putting on the new plaster on him.

Once you’re done, you got up and threw him his shirt. “Impressed?” you said with a grin.

“Yes…” Kakashi bluntly said with a groan as he put his shirt back on. You caught a glimpse of a faint blush under his visible eye and you chuckled at how gullible he can be. You headed to the bathroom to change clothes.

(Kakashi’s POV)

My thoughts were still in the clouds when Kimeko had finally got out of the bathroom all dressed. The splendid sight minutes ago could not be removed from my head. I need to find a distraction to divert my mind away from that… chest… I have also noticed something peculiar on her. There was a mark in the middle of her breasts that I would know anywhere.

“You coming or what?”

“Hm?” I looked up from the book I was reading and saw Kimeko already at the door.

“I’m gonna go grab something to eat.”

“Oh right,” I quickly put my book on the desk and put on my shoes. Finally, a distraction.

I checked my watch and it’s about four in the morning. We headed to a nearby convenience store and ordered some sandwiches and drinks. I ordered milk tea while Kimeko ordered soda.

We both sat at a table and before I started eating, I decided I should call Tsunade-sama first. I quickly excused myself and headed outside the store, making sure that Kimeko won’t hear me.

“Code Jaguar,” I said as my call was answered.

“X14, what’s your location?” Tsunade-sama asked on the other line.

“City outskirts. Has Agents X12 and X15 make it alive?”

“Yes they are alright. They have reported the Akatsuki incident yesterday.”

I gave out a sigh of relief at knowing that Guy and Yamato are okay. “I’m currently starting on the mission you gave me.”

“Hmm. Well then good job. But are you sure it’s her?”

“I’m a hundred percent sure.”

“How did you know?”

“I have my ways,” I can’t just tell Tsunade-sama that I found that out when Kimeko exposed her chest to me. “Her name’s Himura Kimeko. We have to check if there’ll be any information regarding her that would aid me in my mission.”

“I’ll ask the intelligence department about it. Thank you for your report, X14.”
