Chapter 5: Change of Plans

“Who is your Master?”

“You…”

“Who is the enemy?”

“The Leaf and its agents…”

“Who will you trust?”

“No one...”

“What will you do?”

“Kill everyone you want to die...”

“Good girl.”

The man gently took the little girl’s hand, a victorious smirk drew on his face as he held the syringe and slowly injected the serum into the helpless little girl’s vein. The little girl winced. But she didn’t cry. She knew that she needed this. She is obliged to do so and she knew that she will become stronger from now on. Her life depended so well at the man that had planted the serum in her. Everyone else saw him as a monster. But she saw him as her hero. And she knew that she will be forever indebted to him.

The serum was working on her, intoxicating her blood and changing parts of her DNA to turn her not just into a stronger girl, but into a lethal fighting machine. She returned the smirk her master had shown her. And from that moment, he knew, she was his. And no power in the world can change that.

You woke up from your slumber, panting. The room is dark and a little breeze made the white curtains of your room move a bit. You got up to check on the couch where your dance partner at the club was resting. Kakashi had the covers up to his nose. You slowly walked towards him and sat on the little space his body had left on the couch. You gently removed the blanket in the hopes of seeing the gorgeous face he was hiding underneath, and as you expected, it was covered with his mask.

His body was so well shaped at the shirt that fit his body that you took the chance to run your eyes from his neck down his torso. Just hours ago you were seconds away from killing him, had Sasuke not told you about Orochimaru’s order to abort the mission. But now, here you are. Your previous target is in your apartment and you are admiring his body build. Never had you seen a man this close before, for every man you had encountered other than Orochimaru and Kabuto were already dead even before you could touch them.

With caution, you tried to move Kakashi’s shirt up, so you could check the wound you had treated earlier. Your hands trailed off the fabric and luckily, Kakashi didn’t notice you undressing him. You made the shirt stop under his chest. You can’t see his body in the dark but you can clearly see the plaster you had applied earlier at the area of the shot. The bleeding had stopped. You tried to move your hand to remove the plaster.

“What are you doing?”

You were startled by a deep voice behind you, making you fail to change the plaster immediately. You move your hand to the side, and as you turned, you saw a shirtless Sasuke, with the wounds on his chest and arms covered in bandages.

“Nothing.”

“Hn.”

You stood up and walked towards Sasuke before leading him to an area where you are sure that Kakashi won’t hear you.

“Why did Orochimaru-sama have the mission cancelled?” you were itching to ask Sasuke about it since the order was given.

“I don’t know. He just gave out that order.”

Well, guess you will have to ask your superiors about it. “How’s your wound?”

“It’s getting better. Thanks for treating it.”

You hummed in response and smiled a little at the thought that Sasuke actually knows how to be grateful.

“You need to leave,” you told Sasuke before tapping his shoulder and exiting the area.

“And Kakashi?”

“I got a plan for him. All I need to do is wait for Orochimaru-sama to send me the order to eliminate him again. How about your brother? What’s your plan?”

“I need to train harder,” Sasuke almost said it with a lot of pain in his voice. You can understand his desire to get stronger, and the feeling of getting defeated.

“Alright. Go now,” you said before leaving him.

Sasuke made his way to your door and left. You looked at your wristwatch and it’s already way past midnight. Glancing at Kakashi, you noticed that he had turned into his stomach and the blankets covered his back. He can’t be awake when you were staring at his body and undressing----

“Kimeko! Akatsuki! At the backdoor!” Sasuke yelled in your earpiece. You were thankful it’s still attached on you. You immediately headed to a drawer, grabbed a backpack that contains stuff reserved for emergencies like times you need to abandon the apartment and find a new one. You put on a pair of boots and did not hesitate to wake Kakashi up.

“Kakashi! Wake up! We need to leave now!”

“Eh?” Kakashi said in a sleepy voice. He wasn’t getting up so you pulled him from the couch. “O-oi! What’s going on?!”

“Akatsuki! Let’s go!”

Kakashi immediately understood and he was immediately up and grabbed his shirt and shoes.

You threw him a pair of keys. “Get down through the window and head to the garage. Code 412018. And grab the motorcycle.”

“…”

“Move it!” you yelled in a whisper as the door to your surveillance room broke down. Kakashi was immediately at the window and cautiously made his way out.

You heard footsteps from outside so you shot the doorknob. It was useless, the Akatsuki kicked your door open and it flew and smashed against a wall. It was the blonde you shot at the bar.

“I don’t have time to deal with you, blondie…” you said as you shot at him the latter crouched behind the table and avoided your shot.

“My name is not blondie, bitch. It’s Deidara!” he threw a grenade at your direction which you shot while in mid-air making it explode against the ceiling, shattering your lights and walls.

You ducked and crept your way to the window. You thought the smoke and dust caused by the explosives gave you the opportunity to head down without getting seen. But you thought wrong. Just as you got out the window, a sword protruded out, missing inches from your neck. You aimed your gun inside, shooting against the darkness. You’re not sure if you had shot the Akatsuki with the sword. But before you could react, you sensed another blade coming on. You arched your back, the sword slid just a few centimeters above your chest. The movements made you lose balance and fall from the window.

You threw an anchor into another room’s window and held on the rope as you slowly went down. Right on time, Kakashi got out of the garage with your motorcycle.

“I drive,” you said and Kakashi moved aside. You switched the engine to full throttle and squeezed on the gas, making you run at top speed.

“Where are you?” you asked, hoping that Sasuke can still hear you.

“Assassination quarters,” you gave a sigh of relief. The wind blew your hair wildly and the engine roared as you made your way through the highway, making your conversation with Sasuke inaudible to Kakashi.

“Tell the master, code sidewinder.”

“Got it.”
