Chapter 2: Exposed

"Hm, Wyatt..." Alissa mumbled quietly in her deep sleep, now snoozing on her right side as her arm was spread out across her lovers side of the bed. She felt the entire empty space, being awoken at how it lied fresh and crisp since he never came back to sleep.

She realized how she was sleeping, quickly jolting straight and holding onto her belly as she hoped nothing had happen or any deformity wasn't in place. Alissa rubbed her eyes in order to see a little bit more clearly than she could, finally getting up and off the bed. She walked down the stairs, still holding her belly as she slowly and quietly stepped to the living room area.

The door to the basement was foolishly unlocked - something Wyatt never did. He had always kept the door locked since he didn't want any distractions from either Alissa or any unwanted guests that would come to their house to have the land sold to them.

Alissa wandered around until she heard quiet whimpers coming from afar in the house. She followed the sound like a curious puppy in a new environment, but nevertheless still cautious about her surroundings.

"Sh, you don't want anyone to hear you..." Wyatt quietly cooed to the woman who's head was locked in a medieval stock, quivering at the thoughts the worst happening to her. "Just stay still, and let me shave that beautiful head of yours." He sounded almost reassuring, as if his actions were normal.

The woman kept shaking her head - the tears mixing in with the thick coat of mascara and running down her face like a sorrowful waterfall.

Wyatt plugged in the electric shaver and grabbed a bowl to put the hair inside of. He started it on a low setting - not wanting to scare the lady more than she already was. As he did, he went behind her, beginning to watch the chunks of platinum blonde hair fall into the steel, rusted bowl.

She kept begging him to stop through her masked mouth, but hoping that the vocal chords would be enough to draw some kind of attention for help. However, Wyatt continued until she was left with nothing but a freshly shaven bald head.

"Perfect, Tara will look absolutely perfect." Wyatt spoke to himself, thanking the woman without directly looking at her. Once he placed the rusty bowl on the wooden work desk, he looked back at the now emotionally broken woman - seeing if she had anything else that needed to be taken off and put on the plastic mold. Eventually, he didn't find anything of value and just let her be.

———

Alissa heard the whimpers grow louder, tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear to make sure absolutely nothing was blocking her hearing. It was finally revealed that the sounds had been coming from the basement - something she was confused about. Her curiosity got the best of her, to which she found herself taking steps down the basement stairs - seeing a light illuminating one of the two rooms that were inside the basement.

She walked further until she was definite that the whimpering was coming from inside of the work room Wyatt had set up for himself. Alissa aimlessly walked inside, a little confused as to what was going on. The pupils in her eyes dilated as she scanned the room and tried to find a source for the whimpers. Once her eyes locked on the woman in the stock, she gasped in shock - not believing what she was seeing.

Wyatt heard the gasp, and turned around in a panic - seeing his girlfriend had stumbled upon his secret. His heart raced immensely, the adrenaline and fear of being caught rushed throughout his tall body, not knowing what to feel most of.

"B-Babe, what are you doing up this late?" He blurted our in fear of what her thoughts had been in that moment. "You're just dreaming, you should go-"

"Who is she?" Alissa furrowed her brows in confusion and stared at the bald, bawling woman in the stock, wanting to come closer to identity her or even help her but she feared what the consequences would be from Wyatt.

"Alissa - turn around and leave." Wyatt sternly spoke, his voice deeper and more intense than before. Up until this point he had put up a fake, happy-go-lucky tone of voice where Alissa would be reassured at all times, but he couldn't fake anything anymore. She had found out something that would force her to see the real him.

"W-Wy-"

"Leave."

Alissa backed up a little in fear for everyone's livelihood besides Wyatt. She contemplated calling the police with the small phone that was in the basement. She looked over at the woman, then darted her gaze at Wyatt, right before she dashed for the phone.

Wyatt chased after her, hoping the small human inside of her would slow her down somewhat. He was just praying that something would stop her from getting to that phone.

And it did.

While on her way, Alissa started to feel the liquid trickling down her inner thigh, all the way down to her leg, which caused her to stop in her path. Her head started to become light, feeling as if she was going to pass out. In fear for her baby and the dreaded deformity she constantly worried about - Alissa grabbed onto a pole, making sure she didn't fall stomach first.

Everything around her started to become blurry, even the sound of Wyatt's panicked screaming became buzzed out like a repetitive radio song. Soon enough, it all faded to black slowly.

Another chapter! I'm actually really enjoying this story and I hope you are too! I think this is the first time I have had a thought out story with an ending and all that.

What did you guys think about Wyatt's little secret? Were you expecting it or did you think something different? If you thought something different let me know what you thought his secret was!

Feedback would be highly appreciated for this chapter, and thank you all for the support!
