Chapter 11: Losing
Andrew woke up, rubbing his eyes as the morning sun shone upon his face. He laid still for a moment, until finally turning to the side, his sight now staring at Alissa sleeping.
The excitement of last night's activities brought a small smirk to play upon his lips as he examining the way she was now - quiet. He admired the way her nose twitched while in deep sleep, making her seem more adorable. Andrew shook her awake gently, suppressing the giggles that wanted to leave his mouth.
"Hm, just five more minutes..." Alissa groaned, scrunching her face, as she turned over to the other side in hopes that he would stop being annoying.
"Come on, your Nazi boyfriend will spam that flip phone like crazy. Also, why do you have that thing?" He furrowed his brows. "It's-"
"Yeah, I know it's past the 2000's, not like I've heard that before."
Andrew shook his head, biting his lip. He grabbed the newly rolled joint next to his side table and put it in his mouth - lighting it up and inhaling it.

"Thanks, I'll be able to find my way don't worry." Alissa looked down at the seatbelt closure, unbuckling it and stepping out of the matte black Mustang.
"You sure? I can assist you."
"Uh, I'll be good. Don't think that kind of car is meant for the woods, but thanks for the offer."
"Alright, get home safe."
"You too."
And with that, Alissa turned around and started walking away from the dirt road where Andrew had stopped his car.
The woods felt like home to her, almost as if she was a Disney princess, that had the forests' small birds sing along with her, comfort her with chirping melodies when she cried and attacked on her order.
But her life was short of a Disney movie, instead; all she had was an insane boyfriend, a child she never saw and a shitty cashier job where the bag boy was never available.
Her thoughts swirled around in her head as she made her way through the short grass that was freshly blooming throughout the summertime. The chirping birds gave her some sense of sanity, sighing in relief as she was on the outside, instead of being trapped on the inside.
What seemed like hours had only been 45 minutes worth of a walking to the two story, old fashioned house. She sighed, holding the door handle. Alissa contemplated whether to walk inside and live through another day, or turn back around and save herself, along with her child.
She opened the creaky door, annoyed Wyatt still hadn't replaced the hinges on that thing. She rubbed the soles of her shoes on the 'Welcome' carpet at the front door, and proceeded to take off her shoes. As she was about to walk upstairs to greet Wyatt, he came downstairs holding a lifelike robot as he smiled happily. That same sadistic grin, once the reason for her happiness.
"W-What's that on your neck?" The smile immediately faded from his face. Wyatt's brows furrowed in confusion as his mouth hung lightly open.
Alissa's eyes widened, not knowing exactly what it was that covered her neck, but expecting it to be hickies anyway.
"Uh, me and Lily were playing truth or dare and...yeah that happened."
"Hm, right." Wyatt accepted in agitation, knowing there was more to the story than she was leading on. Nevertheless, the smile resurfaced as he excitedly placed down the robot from his hand.
"What's the surprise?" Alissa inquired, crossing her arms and hoping that the desperation of changing the topic wouldn't be evident in her tone.
"Oh, right that! Okay, well - I've always been trying to find the perfect face for Tara here," He gestured to the androids' face. "and I never had any luck finding the one, but I finally did. Can you guess who's face it is?"
Once he released the small cloth from her face, shivers ran up Alissa's spin like a predator desperate for food. She knew the face from a mile away. It looked so...different and creepy. Of course, it had been altered to draw away suspicion if the police were ever to find out - but it looked obvious to anyone who stared at it for too long.
"Uh, Syd?" Alissa blurted out in shock, hoping it wasn't right. Hoping he wasn't sick enough to still cast a whole face mould of her after he had just shot her in the head like a deer.
"Yes! I altered it a little of course because you know - I wanted Tara to look a little simple and more traditional. Syd was just one of those Jersey Whore's."
That nickname once brought light to Alissa's face - but right now she couldn't feel anything but sorrow. She couldn't smile, laugh, cry or even scream if she wanted to, all her emotions for the past few days had her exhausted to the point where she only showed a poker face.
"Alright well, I should be home by..." He looked up at the clock, "4 pm? Yes, 4pm the latest! Just take care of Celare and, make sure he's fed! Al-"
Her eyes widened again, the fatigue wearing off when she heard that wretched name of the child she loved the most.
"Wait what? Take care of Celare?" Her eyebrow jerked in astonishment, the build up of tears stinging her nose. Alissa looked at Wyatt in awe, the glassy exterior finally polishing her eyes.
"Well, do you have a babysitter that can help?"
Alissa ignored his comment, immediately rushing upstairs in happiness at just the thought of finally being that close to her own child. She quietly opened the door to the nursery, seeing the small baby mobile twirling around over her son.
"Thank you, Jesus." She shut her eyes in disbelief, letting a tear slip out of the right eye. Alissa opened her eyes, quietly taking steps to the canopy draped cot that lied near the window.
Hoping not to wake him up abruptly, she picked him up gently, finally being able to cradle him in her arms. The thought of just being able to do this brought Alissa immense joy. A joy that couldn't be described, even if a book were to be written about it.
Celare had his mother's full lips and nose. Once the tot awoke, Alissa gleamed over his beautiful hazel colored eyes - taken after his own father's. She found it hard to smile whilst crying, and this wasn't different. The tears were wiped away as quick as possible, in case they got onto his face and disturbed him in any possible way.
After a few minutes of admiring his beauty, Alissa noticed something that caused her to almost drop the baby, or even hold him in her arms while she sobbed in despair.
On his upper lip, lied a partial cleft lip, restricting him from opening his mouth further than to suck his mother's nipple.
Alissa stared at the deformity in shock, the sadness and regret filling her almost instantly. She never wanted her baby to have any kind of deformity - but it had happened.
Perhaps for the best.
Of course, I wasn't going to let Alissa have a happy moment without ruining it.
What did you guys think of this chapter? How happy are you for Alissa finally being able to see her baby? Also were you kind of expecting the deformity - since it was a main fear of Alissa's in the first (or second) chapter?
Feedback is always welcomed, this is was the first time I wrote and proof read this chapter at like 1am so sorry if there are any weird words that don't make sense in the sentence.
Thank you so much for the reads, votes, comments and feedbacks! Love you xo.
