Chapter 1: Suspicions

"Hey, I'm home!" Alissa cheerily called out to the almost empty house as she stepped inside, rubbing her shoes on the carpet that stayed put in the front door.

She held her textbooks lightly against her chest, making sure it wouldn't impact her fully grown baby bump. Alissa slipped off her shoes and placed them carefully on the wooden panel that rested just between the navy blue carpet and beige painted walls.

"Hey, I finished making pasta for lunch." Wyatt greeted his love with a massive smile plastered across his face. It seemed almost plastic and fake whenever it appeared, surely nobody could be that happy. He grabbed her textbooks and backpack from her and placed them on the couch which surrounded the dark wood coffee table.

Alissa smiled, thankful that she had someone as lovely as Wyatt to take care of her in the state she was in. She walked to the kitchen and opened the plate cabinet, sliding one of them between the stack they were usually set in. With that, Alissa walked over to the crockpot, scooping at least three spoonful's of pasta.

Wyatt brushed his hands off, always cautious about the germs that are constantly around him. Once he did, he rushed to the kitchen to join his girlfriend as she ate and ask her the questions that would show how much he genuinely loved and cared for her.

"So, how was your day?" He smiled again, the toothless, plastic smile appearing again. For some reason, that was the favorite about him to Alissa - it seemed genuine enough to her.

"It was good! We learned a lot about the uh..." She munched hungrily, taking time to process the flavorful spices and herbs that were incorporated into the meal. A small, faint moan escaped her vocal chords - acting as if she hadn't eaten for days. "Oh, right - my day. We learned about androids as a part of just small information bit the professor does. I thought of you." She smirked, playfully biting her lower lip.

Wyatt chuckled, lowering his head as Alissa smiled softly back at him blushing. He always had a fascination for building androids out of scratch and mainly having them programmed to sing jingles for small companies or even just his own entertainment. Most of the time, Wyatt would sculpt them after Alissa, but nowadays they varied in facial features and even skin color. Alissa didn't mind this, in fact she liked how he was experimenting with bringing in diversity for his creations.

The night had fallen upon the town of Indi, and especially in the woods - where it got more darker than the civilization side of town.

Alissa slipped on an oversized dress shirt of Wyatt's, walking to the minimalistic bedroom the two shared. It consisted of a single king size bed, a beige colored vanity dresser and single couch that rested in the corner, covered with a sheet of dust.

"Hey, I'll be up in a few minutes - I just need to finish up on Tara." Wyatt peeked his head through the ajar door as he informed Alissa. Tara was the new android Wyatt had been working on - his biggest android yet. She was built up to a height of 5 foot 7 inches, a life like doll almost.

Alissa nodded in an understanding manner. She turned around and slipped herself comfortably into the heavy, quilted duvet that the two had sewn together as their 6 month anniversary date. Her head rested atop a mountain of pillows which felt comfortable for her in the state she was in. Alissa looked down and softly rubbed her grown belly, smiling as the mix of emotions inside her were about to burst like the water inside of her in the next week.

Nevertheless, she drifted off to sleep as she lied on her back, not wanting to sleep sideways in fear that it would impact her baby. The night went cold for her, the air vents releasing their cold air.

Downstairs in the basement, Wyatt was concentrated and working extremely hard on his creation, his biggest creation yet - Tara. She had the palest caucasian complexion imagine-able, a hint of rose falling on the apples of her plastic cheeks. Her eyes were more doll like - with no eyelashes, eye crease or brows, Wyatt didn't have the time for that.

He looked at the reference for the android which was propped next to him. Wyatt mixed the sky blue pigment with some plastic sealer and made an eyeshadow mixture - dipping a clean brush and carefully painting it on, as he took off his 90s clear aviator eye glasses, knowing he didn't need it as he didn't have any problems with looking at things up close.

Wyatt stripped the dull metallic duct tape off his muse, seeing what color her lips were. He smiled lightly, putting it back on and patting it down aggressively so that the adhesive was still intact. He grabbed the cream pigment of burgundy and mixed it again with another portion of plastic sealer. Carefully, he grazed the tip of his paintbrush and colored in the full lips of his doll's head - comparing it as he looked at both the real life muse and his own artwork.

"Perfect." He mumbled quietly to himself, a satisfied grin playing casually upon his face as he itched his scuffed, dirty blonde subtle. Wyatt brushed his hair back with his hand, not giving a second look to the woman pleading for her life next to his work table which lied in the corner of the basement.

Hey guys! So I decided to write another story which I assume will only flop because it isn't a very light hearted one like 'Follow' but hopefully it will have somehow the same success and reads, votes and feedback.

I hope you guys enjoy this story, I've had this idea for quite some time but never wrote it because I was scared of many people hating it because it wasn't 'light-hearted'.

Please leave some feedback if you have any, it would be appreciated. Thank you for reading!
