Lonnie
Tap. Tap. Tap.
"I'm sorry, sir, did you say you wanted a soda, or coffee?" The waitress said. She looked no older than 19, no younger than 17 with deep blue eyes and a wide set mouth. Her nametag read 'Julia'.
"Coffee is fine," he said.
"Great, I'll be right back with that!" Julia said. She walked away with such a pep in her step that the boy in jeans and a simple black t-shirt wondered if she was new to the job. You can only wait on people for so long before you're tired of it.
He sat in the booth by himself and searched the laminated menu. It was only a small coffee shop, not much to choose from, but they offered cinnamon rolls, cookies, breakfast sandwiches. He decided on a cinnamon roll right around the same time that the young waitress returned with his drink.
"Are you ready to order, sir?"
"I am, but do you think you could do me a favor?" He asked.
"Of course, sir. What would you like?"
"Would you bring that young woman over there one of your best cinnamon rolls and tell her that she's very pretty," he said pointing at the only woman in the coffee shop near the window. "Put it on my bill."
"Ah, how romantic!" Julia nearly squealed, "Of course, sir. Was that all you wanted to order?" He nodded. Julia smiled and walked away.
The woman had dark hair that was only a few centimeters past the bottom of her earlobe. With a heart shaped face, her dark eyes shrouded with the longest lashed he'd ever seen stood out. She had proportionately sized lips-- they were lined with a bright red that stood out against her olive skin. She had a slight frame, but she commanded the room.
Moments later, the waitress came out of the kitchen with plated cinnamon roll in hand, and headed over to the window. He watched as Julia spoke, and the dark haired woman listened, and Julia gestured towards him, and the dark haired woman looked. She smiled and waved.
He put $12 on the table, enough to cover his tab and leave a decent tip, and stood, making his way over to the window.
"Good morning," He said.
"Good morning to you, thank you for breakfast." She had a toothy smile.
"It was my pleasure, a pretty lady must have a good breakfast,"
"Well, thank you," she blushed. "I'm Lonnie."
"Pleased to meet you."
"Do I get to know your name?" Lonnie asked.
