Long Feng sat in a conference room surrounded by the generals.

"WE have managed to push the fire nation back along the Daisu valley and we have secured the vital Ton-Kev hill and fortress. However our forces to the north west of the front is struggling to hold off the fire nation forces heading for ba sing se."

"What do you recommend then To alleviate our situation in the north." Long Feng questioned with a raised eyebrow.

"I recommend pulling the front back actually if our norther forces pull back they can solidify the front line and it would allow us to send fresh troops to the front more effectively and we can launch a counter attack in a few months that will crush the fire nation."

Long Feng was silent then 2 dai Li agents came down from teh roof and dragged the general out of the room screaming.

"gentlemen it is time for change for nearly 100 years we have been pushed back by the fire nation and now it's time to show the world the power of the earth kingdom and become the immovable mountain that will crush the fire nation forces." Long Feng addressed the group sternly before continuing. " However that being said we must crush all threats to the king and that is why we are to amass an army here." Long Feng stated pointing to a section of the map in front of them.

"sir that's the treaty line with Shou-long."

"Yes and your point is General." Long Feng replied coldly as the dai li agents returned. 

"Nothing sir just how many men do you think we need for this attack." The general replied nervously much to long Feng's amusement.

"Assemble an army of 250'000 men and storm the Kau region it is time to take Zirem and  Shou-long as a whole once and for all."

(Present time).

General Kosh had been given command of the earth kingdom invasion army and the initial stage had gone well they had crossed the Kau river without much trouble. Kosh Smiled He knew That Shou-long was incredibly Honor bound and Therefore they had obeyed the treaty regulation of not keeping a heavy military presence along the border with the earth kingdom. 

This made them an easy target to invade and therefore His army was able to easily cross the river and ambush the few military companies shoo long had near the river The only thing that surprised the General was the weapons the Shou-long soldiers had which were nothing like the earth kingdom or fire nation used.

They were currently Trying to take the Valzin Hill which overlooked the roads heading for the City of Kau. 

"General sir The 2nd wave has been wiped out." A captain reported handing him a telescope.

What he saw shocked him. Hundreds of his men lie dead on the hills and his forces were being mowed down and blown up constantly while they tried to take the hill.

Angered at Shou-longs stubborn resistance He chose to change tactics. "Have the 9th, 12th, 13th along with the 17th infantry divisions storm the hill and have the 25th and 23rd cavalry divisions support them. Have the rest of the men rush the two roads and storm the city If we take it the hill may surrender if we cut off their supply lines."

"But sir our forces will be spread to thin and we don't know how strong the city Garrison is."

"IT doesn't matter the main Shou-long army isn't here and if we can take that city we can send a message and acquire more reinforcements."

When the Generals orders were relayed His troops were very concerned. The last two assaults on the hill had cost them over 3'000 men and now the general was dedicating 6 divisions to take it. To make matters worse the division commanders were determined to gain the glory of taking the Mighty hill and therefore they threw their men at the hill on mass. 

The problem for the attackers was the Shou-long soldiers were very well equipped for defensive warfare their Leaver action rifles were amazing due to how easy they were to reload and due to the minimal cover the hill provided the attackers it made shooting them a piece of cake.  

TO make matters worse for the earth kingdom forces the Shou-long defenders had breach loaded artillery a new invention which was just as if not more accurate than catapults. Along with Maxim Machine guns a weapon that could mow down earth Kingdom soldier faster than they could bend. 

That being said they had some success when some earth bender squads managed to infiltrate the hill defense tranches and therefore there was brief relief from the volley of artillery fire and the hailstorm of bullets.

However while the divisions struggled to take the hill the rest of the army was advancing on Kau city which was scrambling it's garrison to meet the earth kingdom soldiers in battle. 

The City governor had ordered civilians to evacuate the city but many stayed determined to fight the earth kingdom invaders. 

The battle for the city began with the earth kingdom hurling boulders at the city's defenses However after seeing how effective Shou-long artillery was the earth kingdom targeted the Artillery units that were defending the city.

After 5 hours of softening up the defenses as best they could The earth kingdom stormed the city like a rock slide using their bending to approach the city faster . the city's 20'000 strong Garrison scrambled to try to keep the earth kingdom forces out of the city with many soldiers taking positions on rooftops to fire down on the earth kingdom invaders.

The garrison quickly realized their rifles were useless in close quarters combat and many drew their swords and engaged the earth kingdom forces who had managed to get into the city.

"excellent we will have this city secured by tomorrow guaranteed. Order the frontline commanders to concentrate on the city's northern entrance and have 2 divisions circle around to the south." Kosh Ordered his men a smile appearing on his face at the prospect of a victory being so close.

Earth benders were using their bending to get Behind Shou-long formations and began to cause chaos. annoyed the Shou-long defenders began to fight more fiercely shocking the earth kingdom forces at how effective the non bending forces of Shou-long could be. 

And after seeing teh lengths the solders were going to protect them the few water benders earth benders and even fire benders in the city began to fight the Erath kingdom Invaders and they were giving no quarter. The sudden arrival of reinforcements emboldened the garrison to fight even more and the battle for the city became more brutal.  

"SOLDIERS AND PEOPLE OF KAU TEH EARTH KINGDOM BELEIVES TAHT WE WILL SIMPLY SUBLIMT TO THEIR POWER SO EASILY I SAY WE SHOW THEM OUR COURAGE AND THE SPIRIT OF  SHOU-LONG THAT GAVE US FREEDOM 200 YEARS AGO. CHARGE!!!!!!!" A Captain yelled rallying his men and civilians into the fray.

"DIE YOU DIRT LOVING WORMS."

"WE WON'T LET YOU STELA OUR HOMELAND."

"SUBMIT OR DIE YOU TRAITORS." An earth kingdom captain yelled in anger.

General Kosh was livid when he learned that not only was the City Garrison fighting against his army the city's civilians were to. IN retaliation he ordered  his men to level as many buildings as possible to provide no cover for the soldiers or the City inhabitants

While the Battle raged on Tanya led her army to the defence Of Kau She knew that the city could hold on for at least 2 more days and she also knew the earth kingdoms liked to fight with superior numbers so she decided to use that to her advantage. Halting her army's approach she turned to face her General.

"what's wrong princess."

"Nothing General I Just had an idea. You take half the men and continue on to the city. I will take the rest and circle around to the Kau river to cut them off."

"an excellent Plan Your majesty we will execute it at once." The general replied quickly gathering his men before heading off to the city while Tanya led the rest on a grand encircling Maneuver that she knew would crush this invasion before it got to deep.

It had now been 3 days since the battle for Kau had begun and by now the Garrison was dwindle to only 6'000 fighting men with 35% Of the city's population also wiped out. Kosh felt victory was within his grasp when all of a sudden news reached him that devastated Him. 80'000 Shou-long soldiers were advancing into the city and were wiping out his men left and right and they were struggling to stop this fresh army.

"Sir our forces are being pushed to the city outskirts and the enemy is advancing rapidly." despite his numerical advantage when the battle had started he was down to just 100'000 men left and his divisions at the hill had reported they'd been successful but only after losing 80% of their men.

"Order the retreat we will pull back to the river Kau and wipe out and use the river to wipe out the army chasing us." Kosh commanded his forces already in retreat for the river.

IT took them a day to march to the river but what they saw horrified them. 

Standing opposite of them was a large Shou-long army led by the gold Haired Princess the general had only heard stories of.

"MEN DESTROY THESE INVADERS CAPTURE ALIVE IF POSSIBLE BUT DON'T HOLD BACK." He heard the girl command as her troops surge forward.

"MEN WE MUST BREKA THROUGH TO THE RIVER AND MAKE A NEW BRIDGE IF WE ARE TO ESCAPE ALIVE." The Kosh ordered panic in his voice.

However as his men charged he was shocked to see the princess fire bending and charging his men. 

Tanya used her skills to wipe out earth bender after earth bender what scared the general the  most was Tanya wasn't fight with ferocity she was fighting with precision.

IT came  as a nasty surprise to many earth benders when Tanya trapped them in holes our simply kicked their boulders right back at them And when some had reached the river to make a new bridge since Tanya had destroyed the rest.

Seeing them Scramble to Make a bridge Tanya smirked before Using water bending to grab the earth benders and drag them into the raptors or into the waiting arms of soldiers eager to take the invaders prisoner. 

Despite Tanya's skills teh general managed to escape with a few of his men.

"GENERAL KOSH GET BACK HERE." His second in command yelled.

"SIR TEH SHOU-LONG FORCES ARE PUSHING US BACK WHAT DO WE DO THEY'LL SIMPLY DESTROY THE BRIDGE WHEN WE TRY TO CROSS."

The major general thought for a while before turning to face the Shou-long troops and kneeling.

"We Surrender." he stated solemnly. 

(1 week later).

Word of the earth kingdoms sudden invasion against Shou-long outraged its people. Civilian's would often charge the prison as mobs eager to take revenge against the foreign invaders the only thing that stopped them was the Shou-long army who had been ordered to keep the mobs back from killing the prisoners. 

Tanya had decided to address the public and try to reassure them. 

"EVERYONE I KNOW YOU ARE ANGRY WITH THIS SUDDEN INVASION BY THE EARTH KINGDOM AND I WOULD BE LYING IF I CLAIMED I WASN'T ANGRY OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS HAVE JUST BEEN KILLED BY THESE INVADERS IN A SUDDEN UNPROVOKED ATTACK ONE THAT WE HAD NEVER INITITATED.

WE OBEYED TEH TREATY AND THEY USED THAT TO ATTACK US. THEY EXPECT US TO BOW TO THEM AND SUBMIT AS THEIR SLAVES AS WE ONCE WERE WILL WE SUBMIT TO THEM." 

"NO."

"I ASK ALL OF YOU ARE YOU WILLING TO STAND BY ME IN BATTLE AS WE DEFY THE EARTH KINGDOM AND WILL YOU STAND BY ME AS WE MARCH TO BA SING SE. "

"YES WE ARE."

"EXECELENT THEN FOLLOW ME BROTHERS AND SISITERS TO A VICTORY 200 YEARS IN THE MAKING. HAIL SHOU-LONG."

"HAIL SHOU-LONG, HAIL THE KING, HAIL PRINCESS TANYA, HAIL THE QUEEN." The people cheered.

Within teh next few months the army grew from 300'000 to 900'000. The navy had already begun to raid earth kingdom costal defenses as invasion forces prepared to attack their one true enemy.

AN: THE WAR HAS BEGUN. I decided to update sooner since I had teh time today and was eager to get this story rolling.

also I'll be times skipping to the siege of the north pole just so your all aware I don't want this story to drag out to long. But I promise you all I will make the chapter good and well worth the time jump.
