(Flashback Kyra's POV).

"You see Princess in the northern water tribe all female waterbenders are mostly taught to use their bending to heal and whenever an enemy attacks us the woman are instructed to immediately retreat to designated safe areas until the fighting dies out.

Myself and many of my friends who were also water benders believed it was stupid and cowardly that we hid and cowered away while teh men died to protect our homes. Eventually around a year or so ago we heard a story of a young princess from a foreign land who fought the princess of the fire nation and won.

We would later learn that the Foreign princess was you Princess Tanya. We felt inspired by your actions and strength and so we formed a secret society for warrior women in the northern water tribe. 

Many of us had brothers who were trained by master Pakku and our brothers would pass those lessons on to us. We became very skilled benders because of these gatherings and it wasn't just our skills in combat that improved but also our skills in healing. This society made us feel so connected to our bending both spiritual and literal.

However that all changed when master Pakku found our society."

"what do you girls think your doing." Pakku demanded angrily.

"Training master Pakku since we can't participate in your lessons we decided to do our own lessons." Kyra answered glaring at the old man.

"Oh really. Cause too me it looks like you all are breaking hundreds of years of tradition and order to simply play a game." He mocked

I was livid not only was he insulting our skills but also us as individuals using a tone that suggested we were traitors or something.

Eventually we were brought to the palace to be judged by the Chief.

"Master Pakku why have you brought these women here to me."

"Chief Arnook these woman were breaking traditions by practicing water bending combat forms. Forms that I taught my students in private."

"I see. Are you woman aware of the crime you have committed and insult you have done to master Pakku."

I was furious beyond reason. I was about to respond before one of my friends beat me to it.

"CRIME AND INSULT. WE WERE SIMPLY TRYING TO IMPROVE  OUR BENDING. OU RDESIRE WAS NOT MENAT TO IUNSULT MASTER PAKKU WE SIMPLY WANTED TO BE SKILLED ENOUGH TO DEFEND OURSELVES INCASE THE FIRE NATION INVADES US."

"Your intentions may have been true but those lessons are sacred to master Pakku and copying them is an insult to him. Further more we already have the army to protect us so your desire to become warriors is unnecessary. However since Kyra was the mastermind behind this society and she also insulted master Pakku by not giving him respect whatsoever. It is for that reason that I banish her from this tribe and the rest of you are banned from using bending in private or you will meet the same fate."

My friends were clearly furious and about to protest but I gave them a look that made them back down. But I wasn't going to leave without saying a few more words. 

"I DISRESPECTED HIM OH THATS RICH. LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING CHEIF ARNOOK YOUR LEADING OUR TRIBE IN A DOWNWARD SPIRAL THAT WILL BRING ABOUT OUR DESTRUCTION. FURTHERMORE THAT OLD HAG OF A WATERBENDING MASTER IS SO SEXIST AND IGGNORANT THAT ME BOWING TO HIM HA. I'LL BOW TO HIM WHEN HE CHANGES HIS WAYS AND ACTUALLY EARNS MY RESPECT. SO GO AHEAD BANISH ME BUT I'D RATHER LIVE IN EXILE THAN LIVE BY THESE CORRUPT TRADITIONS ANY LONGER."

My words had clearly struck a nerve with him and master Pakku and so I was banished from the tribe and I was warned that If I ever returned I'd be executed. I Lived in caves for around a year living off of fish and other creatures  at least I was until I saw sot and I knew that the fire nation was coming. 

I saw the moon go red and black out but then I saw the avatar as a giant koi fish destroy the invaders. I was about to return to my cave when I saw 4 wounded fire nation soldiers laying in the snow. 

Compassion filled me and I did everything I could to heal them. when they finally regained their Strength instead of straight up attacking me they asked me how they got there I told them and surprisingly they bowed to me and thanked me.

I knew what the water tribe did to captured fire nation prisoners so I decided to help them escape. We Gathered materials to build a raft and after about a week we finally had finished it. I personally had no quarrel  with leaving my tribe since they had turned their back on me. However as soon as we had set sail I saw northern ships chasing us Most likely in a attempt to capture the fire nation soldiers I had with me. 

I used my bending to try to propel us forward while the only actual fire bender with us tried to give us some cover however an arrow to his side prevented him from doing so.

Thankfully I managed to catch the attention of your 9th fleet who immediately dragged us aboard and managed to chase off the northern water tribe ships. 

(End of flash back 3rd person pov) 

After Kyra finished recapping what had happened the room was silent. The admiral and the few other officials in the room were fuming and Tanya was silent her eyes closed deep in thought. 

"Please princess let me take the 9th fleet to the northern water tribe I want to teach them a lesson." The admiral stated angrily.

"As tempting as that is Admiral we have to obey the treaty. However I will send a message to the northern water tribe warning them that  if they continue to sponsor the pirate fleets we will finish what the fire nation started." 

"Of course princess I understand." 

"Now then Kyra I can make arrangements for a ship to take you to the southern water tribe where you can live a comfortable life away from the war." 

Kyra considered the offer briefly but she eventually made her decision.

"No thank you princess. If you will  have me I am willing to offer you my unconditional loyalty and respect not just to you but also your family and nation." Kyra stated before kneeling .

Tanya simply smiled." We would be happy to have you Kyra come on lets go introduce you to the king and queen."

Tanya then led Kyra to the throne room Where her mother and father were seated.

"Ah Tanya my dear who is this." Virden asked Gently.

Tanya then proceeded to explain what had befallen Kyra before arriving.

"Hmm I am most disappointed in my old Friend Chief arnook I'll Have to have a word with him." Virden stated slightly angry.

The queen was mad but she calmed down before Addressing a question that Tanya was also curious about.

"Young Kyra did you have any family to support you during this hard time."

Tears welled up in her eyes as teh memory came flooding back to her.

(Flashback).

A huge fire ball was sailing through the sky headed for the water tribe. Kyra stood on the cliff and watched it collide with a few buildings. However Kyra recognized teh general area where it had fallen and she quickly ran there.

Arriving where she believed the fire ball had hit she looked around by saw nothing. However when she reached her old House she couldn't see their bodies but she knew that her family had been killed.

She then fell to her knees and cried mourning them.

(end of flash back).

Kyra couldn't hold it in anymore she let the tears stream down her face and she fell to her knees. she sobbed muttering her family's names.

However she soon felt two people embrace her. She opened her eyes and saw the queen and Tanya hugging her trying to comfort her.

"IT's alright I know it hurts." The queen Soothed rubbing circles on her back. "I know we couldn't replace your family but We would like to try to fill that hole in your chest." The queen stated Gently.

Kyra pulled away and looked at them in shock.

"But I'm nothing more than a peasant and a weakling why would you want me." Kyra stated tears still in her eyes.

"IT's because we can see your heart we see a girl who loves her people and wants to help as many people as she can and we also see a warrior someone who will never give up no matter what."  

Kyra was taken aback she missed her family greatly and here was a chance to get it back at least somewhat.

"So what do you say daughter." King Virden stated gently coming closer to knell beside his wife.

Kyra never said a word she just rushed forward and hugged her new parents sobbing.

"Thank you I promise I'll be a good daughter." Kyra promised.

"We know Besides I always wanted a sister." Tanya stated joining in the hug.

The next day after taking time to get to know they're new daughter the royal family was gathered in the throne room when the chief advisor ran into the room.

"Ryman what is it." The king inquired.

"T-The avatar and his friends. They're here.
