Aang and his friends were flying on Appa headed for the northern water tribe they had briefly stopped in a forest not that long ago where they met some rebels who called themselves the freedom fighters.

They're fight against the fire nation was admirable but It was what the leader said to them  before they left that made them curious and a little scared.

(flashback).

"My friends when you head for the northern water tribe  I urge you to be careful. there's a nation in that direction that is allied with the fire nation and they are more powerful then the fire nation even. They joined the war roughly a year and a half ago and in that short time they have defeated teh earth kings army more than once. Further more their technology is more advanced than anything the fire nation has. This nation is the kingdom of Shou-long."

The gang was silent. Until sokka spoke up.

"why would they ally themselves to the monsters who burn villages and people without mercy how could anyone stomach that." 

"No one knows 2 years ago our old leader jet left to try and start a revolution. However that failed and me and only around 4 others managed to get back here."

"How many were with you." 

"Around 350 all were either Killed or captured." Blade stated solemnly.

The gang was silent once again till aang spoke up.

"we will go to Shou-long and we will find the truth and we will free your leader jet. Besides we already deal with teh fire nation How tough Can Shou-long be." Aang stated resolute.

The rebels thanked him and provided some extra rations and water to assist them since Shou-long was quite far.

(end flash back)

It turns out they looked pretty tough.

Aang and his friends were being escorted by the Chief advisor to the king and 4 royal guards who had weapons that were making sokka jealous. 

When they arrived in the Palace they were marched into the throne room. Sitting on 4 thrones were two adults and two girls one of whom had gold hair and the other had stormy eyes and dark skin.

Aang and his friends stood in awkward silence for around 5 minutes till someone finally spoke it was the chief Advisor who went to stand by his king.

"You are in the presence of his royal majesty King Virden Degurechauf great king of Shou-lomg and his family." He stated looking at them expectantly.

It took them a while before they registered they needed to bow. 

"Thank you. Now explain your reasoning for coming here." The king stated professionally.

"Thank you your majesty. I am Avatar Aang and these are my friends Katara and Sokka from the southern water tribe. we are here since we've heard claims that you were allied to the fire nation."

The Queen scoffed. " does everyone here think a simple trade agreement also translates to a military alliance. " She stated annoyed.

"You know I'm not sure mother but then again mother I suppose anything is possible coming from the mouth of a 12 year old boy claiming he's and avatar." Kyra stated sarcastically.

"True that." Tanya snorted.

Katara was getting annoyed at the royal family who was apparently mocking them.

"Hey he's at least doing what he was supposed to and trying to free teh world. while here you sit on your ivory thrones thinking nothing is wrong while your armies probably oppress thousands."

The royal family's faces had grown more serious as Tanya now spoke up.

"OH sure what do you want from us a formal promise stating were very sorry mister avatar we pwomise to never protect our homeland again when we are being attacked hmm." Tanya replied in a very childlike voice. 

"Indeed. Young avatar know this. We have only acted in self defense in response to the earth kingdom who attacked us first. We have taken great pains to ensure our soldiers do not deliberately attack civilians and they show mercy to their enemies we have made laws to make certain of it."

"And how do you know that your armies will obey the laws." Sokka replied

"Let's just say I personally inspect teh front very frequently and we have agents who will inform us if those laws are broken among our ranks." Tanya answered clearly annoyed with  them. 

"Regardless we came here for another thing. we would like to request that Shou-long release freedom leader jet."
