2-2: Pximaw

We had much to do, Jake was working with Max and Norm to find a new home tree while Tsu'tey sent people to scout each area they discussed. Trudy was undergoing surgery after surgery, she was in constant pain, but she lived and she'll heal. Norm is okay, I think. His avatar is healing well and he should begin lessons under Saeyla. Poor man. Neytiri is still reeling after the loss of her father and Ikran. And Jake, poor poor Jake. He's utterly confused as is the clan. They expected Jake to lead them, but they knew Tsu'tey wouldn't hand off the responsibility to someone he saw as undeserving and inexperienced. So Mo'at stepped in. As the clan's matriarch, she meditated on it for days, in this time she also taught me to do the same.

And we both came to a conclusion. They would lead together, with Jake as Tsu'tey's advisor. When this was announced there was no disagreement. The only ones who weren't content, were Artsut and Ateyo. They did not seem to like me at all. Tsu'tey caught wind of this when I was doing basic chores around our temporary home. I don't usually do a lot of work if I can avoid it unless I'm troubled.

"Tanhì, my beloved, what's wrong?" He had cornered me in a small cave.

"Tsu'tey, I-" I took a deep breath, " I don't know how to tell you-" I know he loves his family and if given the situation, he would choose them over me.

"You can tell me anything, I won't be offended or hurt." he said confidently.

"Your family doesn't seem to like me much and Artsut has been trying to slander my name as soon as I became your student." I explained carefully. He seemed unfazed.

"My family have always tried to have some semblance of power due to their pride, and now that I am Olo'eyktan, they believe they can do whatever they want." he said in a disappointed tone, "I will speak with them." he concluded. He gave me a quick embrace before leaving.

With my spare time I spent it with my Tstukxitx, he hasn't told me his name yet, so I've been following him around the area. His snake-like body shimmered as the sun began to set. he motioned for me to follow, as we walked down hill and into a nearby cave.

The shimmering walls were moist with mildew and the old paintings and statues on the wall had faded and crumbled. The bones of his kind were resting in small dugout holes. The ground was soft but gaining density as we approached a small pool filled with fish which glowed under the rippling surface.

"Thank you for bringing me here, my friend." I said to him. I connected our Queues.

"Thank you for being with me." he said. He sat down as I did the same next to his huge form. His head reminds me of a boa, but taller with his features sunken into his face. His snout was longer than a palulukan's by a little. And while, Palulukan's only have two eyes, he has four, one larger than the other. But his sight isn't sharp and requires many sensory smelling glans on his face and great hearing. His paws are huge, I say paws because he has toe beans like a cat, but enormous unretractable claws.

"I can tell you plan to draw me." he says.

"Yes, I never want to forget you and I don't want your kind to be forgotten about by my people."

"We won't disappear unless Eywa needs us to."

"I know, but not everyone knows your existence."

"And that is fine."

"I suppose so." we sat in comfortable silence.

"You are the only Na'vi I've met who was brave enough to bond with my kind. You have earned the right to know my name." he paused. "Txan'aritx."

"I like that name. Txan'aritx. I think it fits you well." he nodded in agreement.

I stared down into the water and fell asleep.

--------------------

In the morning, I woke Txan'aritx and we went back to see Mo'at and Tsu'tey. By now, Tsu'tey understood I needed some form of independence, so he often left me alone when I seemed to need it. He has been advising groups of people and what to do, our main healers and lore keepers led the activities of main chores. Our best hunters and warriors were out making sure the clan is fed and protected during our most vulnerable time.

"Tsahik, I see you." I greeted her.

"I see you, young one." she said simply.

"I have a question."

"I may have an answer." she replied.

"What if I am not meant to be with Tsu'tey?" I sighed, "His parents are very clear about their distaste for me and all this pressure from the people troubles me."

She sat me down near where I made my last link and spoke softly.

"I understand your nerves, but Eywa has a plan for you, and I see it even though you cannot. Neytiri saw it as well, even if she will not admit this. You are almost ready to take my place. You just have to listen and guide the people the best you can."

I was left with more questions. But Mo'at believes in me, why shouldn't I?

----------------------

I visited Hell's gate to meet the Avatar drivers that stayed behind, Neytiri and I will be teaching them once we find a new home. There were over twenty so we'd have to do groups of 4 since I wanted to focus on all of their needs. My first four will be Aaron Greene, Katherine Blackwood, Samantha Lou, and Elaine Lovoure.
