Epilogue part 3

A/N: This is the longest part I've ever written *phew😌*

Shivaay, Anika and Ansh ran to her room and Shivaay banged the door.

“Shivu? Are you alright? Say something.” He said while trying to open the door. Shivika opened the door and the three fell inside, on top of each other. Shivika helped them get up.

“Oh my God! Aap log theek toh ho na?” She asked and they nodded in approval.

“Hum theek hain likin kya tum theek ho?” Shivaay asked.

“Haan. Mujhe kya hoga?” She said normally.

“Toh us message ka kya matlab tha?” Anika asked.

“Oh, woh. Woh bas aapko thoda ‘Family time’ enjoy karne ke liye bulaya tha.” She said and received death glares from them.

“Tumne itni raat ko hume family time manane bulaya hain? Tumhe nahi sona toh theek hain likin hume darana zaroori tha?” Shivaay bursts out her and she gets very sad.

“Aapko pata hain kal kya hain?” She asked with misty eyes.

“Obviously moti. Kal teri shaadi hain. Aur phir yeh poora room mera.” Ansh said.
“Aur poora room aapka isliye kyoonki kal main is ghar ko chhod ke chali jaaoongi. Kal meri vidai ho jayegi aur agar main apni aakhri raat as Ms Shivika Singh Oberoi apni parents aur bhai ke saath bitana chahun, toh mujhe daant padti hain. Wow! How amazing!” Shivika said amd clapped her hands sarcastically.

It now hit them why she had called them that late at night. She wanted to be with her own family before she would join someone else’s. By this time, she was sitting on the bed and wiping the tears which formed in her eyes. Tears formed in Shivaay’s eyes as well. Shivika sensed this and looked at him. She ran up to him and cupped his face as tears stared flowing from his eyes.

“Kya hua papa?” She asked worriedly. Shivaay caressed her mehndi coverd hands, especially the place where Vihaan’s name was encrypted.

“You know, Shivu. Mujhe ek reason ki wajah se beti nahi chahiye thi.” He said leaving all the three shocked.

“Woh isliye... kyoonki... ek din... uske haath pe uske pati ke naam ke mehndi lagegi. Uske naam main baap ka naam hata ke pati naam jod diya jayega. Aur…woh apne papa ko…chhod ke…chali…jayegi. Meri Shivu…kal… chali…jayegi.” He sobbed. Shivika could see him in such vulnerable state. She, too, started crying and hugged him tightly. Ansh stepped forward but Anika held him back.

“Papa, please don’t cry. I’m so sorry.” She said in between her sobs. Shivaay broke the hug and cupped her face.

“Nahi, Shivu. In fact, I’m sorry. Mujhe tumse aise baat nahi karni chahiye thi.” He said wiping her tears with his thumb.

“Waise papa, aap bahot lucky ho. Hum roz toh milenge hi, boss.” Shivika said and hugged him again. Ansh and Anika, too, joined them.

“Okay, senti hone ka time nahi hain. Jo plan maine banaya tha woh execute bhi karna hain.” She said jumped on the bed.

“So, what’s the plan, Ms Oberoi?” Shivaay asked he sat beside her.

“Popcorn and Maggii with Kuch Kuch Hota Hain.” Shivika stated while Ansh face-palmed himself.

“Tu woh ek movie kitni baar dekhegi?” Ansh asked.

“Utni hi jitni baar maine aapke saath football khela hain.” Shivika replied and played the movie. By the end, she had slept on Anika’s shouder. Anika placed her head on a pillow and caressed her hair. Shivaay kissed her forehead and they went to their room. The next morning, Shivika woke up to her favourite thing…

“Cappuccino.” She said as she found her favourite coffee on her bedside table. Shivaay came to her, dressed up in a sherwani.

(Shivaay's outfit)

“Good morning Shivu.” Shivaay said.

“Good morning papa.” Shivika said and hugged him lightly as she was still sleepy.

“Aapke haath ki cappuccino ko maine bahot miss kiya. Ghar main koi itni achhi cappuccino nahi bana sakta.” She said sipping her coffee.

“Aaj meri beti ek nayi zindagi main kadam rakhne jaa rahi hain. Itna toh main uske liye kar hi sakta hoon.” He said and side-hugged her. Hearing his words, her eyes popped open and she almost choked on her coffee.

“Araam se.” he said patting her back.

“Aaj toh meri shaadi hain!” She exclaimed.

“Don’t tell me tum bhool gayi thi.” He asked disbelievingly.

“Main bhai nahi hoon jo bhool jaaoon likin…” She said but hesitated to speak further and started walking around nervously.

“Likin?”

“Likin…”

Likin…?

“Mujhe michmichi mach rahi hain. Agar maine koi raita phaila diya toh?” She asked nervously while Shivaay giggled.

“You know, tumhe meri, Om, Rudra aur Prinku ki shaadi ki story sunni chahiye. Tab pata chalega humne kaise raite phailaayein hain.” Shivaay said and narrated the story of his and his siblings’ marriage. Shivika was giggling the whole while.

“Ab batao, kya tum isse bhi bada raita phaila sakti ho?” Shivaay asked playfully and Shivika smiled.

He cupped her face and said, “Aaj tumhari zindagi sabse bada din hain, beta. Aaj se tum duniya ko Mrs Vihaan Singhania ke naam se jaani jaaogi likin…apne papa ke liye tum woh saat saal ki aspiring makeup artist, Shivu hi rahogi, okay” He said emotionally and hugged her.

“Ab ready ho jao. I’ll see you in a bit.” Shivaay said and went out. They both wiped a tear from their eyes as he left the room. After sometime, Shivika freshened up and wore her blouse and petticotes. Saumya, Priyanka and Riya helped Shivika wear her heavy lehenga while Kriti and Myra clicked their pictures.

“Almost done, di. Ab bas hair, makeup aur jewelleries bachi jo makeup artists aapka kar denge.” Riya said, putting the last safety pin in place.

“Ab hume jaake jiju ko welcome karne ki tayaari karni hain.” Myra teased and they all went out. Shivika was brushing out her hair when she saw Ansh’s reflection in the mirror.

(Ansh's outfit)

“Bhai, andar aa jao.” She said. He came in and scanned her, top to bottom.

“Bhai, aap apni behen ko check out kar rahe ho?” She said.

“Dekh raha hoon ki tu itni badi kab ho gayi. Kya tu meri wahi Shivu hain jo mere literal khidki-tod shots se darti thi?” He joked.

“Shivu, yaar mat ja na.” he said.

“Bhai, agar aap nahi chahte, toh main yeh shaadi nahi karoongi.” She said and received a smack on the head.

“Pagal hain tu? Main tujhe miss karoonga likin tu Vihaan ke saath khush rahegi, toh main yeh aaram se handle kar loonga. You know, maine kabhi accept nahi kiya, likin tumhari khushi mere liye bahot important hain. Aur agar mere jijaji ke liye bhi nahi hui, toh yaad dila dena main khidki-tod shots lagana bhoola nahi hoon.” Ansh said and she giggled.

“Bhai, woh gaana ek baar aur ga do.”

“Okay. Billi ki…shaadi…hogi. Billi…ko mehndi…lagegi…” he treid to sing but choked on his words.

“Billi ki doli uthegi…” Shivika added.

“Billi dulhan banegi. Billi. Billi. Billi. Billi.” They sang on the verge of tears then hugged each other.

“I’ll miss you Billi.” He said.

“I’ll miss you, too, chamche.” She said. The makeup artists came and he left. After a couple of hours, Shivika was fully ready and was in her room, waiting to be called for the muhrat.

(Shivika's outfit)

Though she wanted to see Vihaan, her eyes craved for someone more special. Her mumma. She hadn’t seen her all day and when she would see her, it would time for the muhrat. She sat infront of the mirror and looked at her reflection, unable to believe in sometime, from Ms Shivika Singh Oberoi, she would become Mrs Shivika Vihaan Singhania. She blushed deeply and buried her face in her palms. She heard a knock on the door.

“Come in.” She said while looking in the mirror. Anika slowly opended the door and cleared her throat. Shivika sprang from her seat.

(Anika's outfit)

“Mumma! Time ho gaya? Bahar sab theek hain na? Main theek toh lag rahi hoon na?” She asked all in one go.

“Shant ho jao, Shivu. Abhi thoda time hain.” Anika said calming her down. Shivika sighed heavily.

“Aap yahan…muhrat se pehle?” Shivika asked.

“Meri beti ne mujhe subah se dekha bhi nahi toh mujhe laga woh mujhe miss kar rahi hogi. Isi liye, chupke se, aa gayi.” Anika said and Shivika chuckled. They sat on her bed and Shivika held Anika’s hand.

“Aap main mera dimaag padne ki superpower aati kahaan se hain?” Shivika asked.

“Maine 9 mahine tumhe apni kok main paala hain maine. Jabse tumhe hosh bhi nahi tha tabse maine tumhe sambhala hain. Jab tum…” Anika said but was cut in between.

“Please yeh mat kehna ‘jab tum ma banogi tab tumhe samaj aayega’ blah…blah…blah.” Shivika said.

“Okay-okay, nahi kahoongi.” Anika giggled. They stood up and Anika cupped her face.

“Tumhe pata hain na tum mere liye kya ho?” Anika asked.

“Aapki taqat, aapki jaan, aapki pehchaan. Shivika stated holding Anika’s hands.

“Yeh bracelet dekh rahi ho?” Anika said pointing towards her moon charm bracelet.

“Kitne time se yeh bracelet hain na aapke pass. I think…aapki shaadi se bhi pehle na?” Shivika said with astonishment.

“Haan. Yeh bracelet humesha mere saath raha hain; jab sirf Anika thi, jab main Mrs Anika Shivaay Singh Oberoi bani aur jab main Ansh aur Shivika ki ma bani.” Anika said.

“And, hopefully, mere Dadi-Nani banne tak bhi rahega.” She added and winked. Shivika playfully hit her hand when she noticed on of the charms missing.

“Mumma, ek charm kahin gir gaya kya?” Shivika asked.

“Nahi, mera woh chand ab alag ho raha hain.” Anika said emotionally.

“Main kuch samjhi nahi.” Shivika said.

“Mera yeh bracelet meri pehchaan hain aur iska hare k chand us insaan ke naam hain jo mujhe main banata hain.” Anika said and took out a small box.

“Aur mera sabse pyaara chand…tum ho.” Saying so, she took out a white-gold ring with her moon charm embedded in it. She donned it on the middle finger of her right hand.

Ab meri Shivu ready hain.” Anika said and Shivika hugged her.

“I love you mumma.” Shivika said.

“I love you, too. Apni jaan se bhi zyaada.” Anika said. Gauri knocked on the door.

“Sivika, muhrat ka samay ho gaya hain.” Gauri said. Shivika took a deep breath and walked forward. In the main hall, Vihaan was sitting at the mandap with eyes fixed on the staircase.

(Vihaan's outfit)

And then she entered, looking absolutely angilic, escorted by Anika, Gauri and Saumya. They made her sit on the mandap. The Varmala rasm started. Vihaan was about to put the varmala around her neck when Ansh and Kunal lifted her on their shoulders.

“Moti ho gayi hain tu.” Ansh joked.

“Shut up bhai.” Shivika ordered. Vihaan’s cousins also lifted him. He again tried to make her wear the varmala but Rohan and Ruhaan, too, joined them and lifted her higher.

“Yeh kya? This is cheating.” Vihaan complained.

“Jiju, all is fair in love and war.” Ruhaan said.

Come on, jiju. Humari di ko paane ke liye thodi mehnat toh karni padegi.” Kriti said. Vihaan somehow managed to put the varmala around her neck but almost fell.

“I’m fine. I’m fine.” He assured everyone.

“Awww, bhaiya is falling in love.” Anusha giggled.

“Anusha, main apni shaadi wale din tumhe thappad nahi maarna chahta. Jo kaam bola tha bas wahi karo.” Vihaan scolded her in a sweet manner. The rituals began. Riya did their Gathbandhan and they took the seven pheras, one vow with each phera, while everyone showered petals on them. Vihaan filled her maang with sindoor and tied the mangalsutra around her neck. She was blushing all this while.

“Vihaah sampann hua. Bado ka aashirwaad le lijiye.” The panditji declared. They took everyone’s blessing.

“Iske bhi blessing leni padegi?” Shivika asked in a joking manner while pointing towards Ansh. He gave her a sarcastic smile and they hugged him.

During the reception, Shivaay was sitting in corner when Anika comes there.

“Shivaay, kya kar rahe aap?” Anika asked.

“Tumhe Om ki woh shayri yaad hain?” Shivaay asked and she nodded.

“Sach main dhal jaate hain kisse, dil se dauhrane ke baad. Ishq par hoga yaqeen, ishq ho jaane ke baad.” They said together.

“Anika, wahan dekho.” He said pointing towards VihIka.

“Kitne khush lag rehe hain.” Anika said and Shivaay closed her eyes.

“Shivaay…” She tried to speak but he silenced her.

“Ab, apni life ke 28 years rewind karo, us din jab hum pehli baar mile they.” Shivaay said and she remembered how she smashed the windscreen of his car.

“Bada hi khidki-tod din tha woh.” Anika giggled.

“Kya us din tumhe laga tha ki hum yahan humari beti ki shaadi hote hue dekh rahe honge?” He asked.

“Kya matlab?” Anika asked.

“Matlab ki, life ke kis mod par koi aisa mil jaye jo aapki puri zindagi badalde, pata hi nahi chalta.” He said side-hugging her.

“Bhaiya, chaliye, aapko Shivu aur Vihaan ke liye kuch kehna hain.” Rudra said handing him the mic.

“Shivu, Vihaan; tum dono mere bacche ho toh ek simple si baat kahoonga. Life ek badi-si, empty book hoti hain. Isse hum akele nahi likh sakte. Soulmates are for a reason. Aur tum dono ke saamne toh itne examples hain.”  Shivaay said and everyone giggled.

“Koi bhi perfect nahi hota, tum dono bhi nahi, likin you’re perfect together. So, main chahta hoon tum dono apni life ki book ek best seller banao, okay.” He said emotionally and they both hugged him.

“And remember one thing: Ishqbaazi ho, toh takkar ki.
