Central Park
Quinn POV
New York, Central Park
"Well, Morgan this is your first time in Central Park, and most likely your last time. Hopefully you remember how it looks like when you are older. Because I don't think Mister Stark is ever going to let you come into the city again." I jokingly said pushing Morgan stroller as we strolled throughout the park to the park, "Well I'm sure he will let once you're older and you will have to thank you're mom for that. I mean it took a lot of convincing for him to agree for me to take you here. I honestly thought Pepper would not be able to change his mind."
It was the weekend, lately I been feeling that Mister Stark and Pepper needed a break from taking care of Morgan, so I volunteered to take care of Morgan for the day and take her to the park while the two relax. As I kinda suspected, Mister Stark was against the idea of me taking Morgan to the city, but Pepper managed to change his mind which I didn't think was possible but then again it is Pepper.
As we walked throughout the park to the playground I think back how Central Park used to be one of the most popular places but since the blimp occurred people do not come here often, which makes sense since half of the population in New York is gone. I stopped and stare at the spot where I saved Mister Stark from Thanos servants before we went to space, and everything went downhill.
I shook my head wiping those memories and looked at Morgan who was playing with her toy that I bought her.
"We are almost there, Morgan."
As I continued strolling her I paused hearing yelling and think someone is in a danger before I could think of what to do. I heard the yelling more clearly and it is my name that is being yelled.
I look around and spot Kate running towards me.
"Kate?" I said in surprise.
Kate stops running once she is in front of me.
"Hey Quinn." Kate said smiling.
"Hey Kate." I replied and took notice of Kate carrying her training bag and bow.
"You had archery practice today?" I asked not remembering Kate mentioning she had practice this weekend and feeling sad that Kate didn't invite me when she has invited me to all her archery practices.
Kate nods, "Technically their wasn't but with the tournament coming up next month. Coach is pushing us extra hard so he emailed the team that their be practice in the morning. I was going to invite you since coach doesn't mind you being there but I didn't want you waking up early plus I thought you'll be busy today to join me and seems I am right about you busy because your babysitting." Kate says as she looks down and smiles at Morgan who looks at Kate curiously not recognizing her.
"I wouldn't have minded waking up early but yeah I would've said no to joining you since I been wanting to give Morgan's parents a break from taking care of her." I told her smiling at the sight of Kate waving hi to Morgan.
Kate looks up confused, "She's not your little sister?"
I mentally wince cursing myself for revealing that.
"Umm no... she is a family friend daughter that I am babysitting." I told her technically it is the truth, "But I do see her as my little sister." I shyly confessed.
It was no secret to Mister Stark, Pepper, and Happy that I saw Morgan as my little sister, although I never said it out loud until now.
Kate smiles at me making my cheeks heat up and I quickly look down at the ground before she can see me blush.
"Well, I'm sure as she gets older she'll see you as her big sister. Someone I'm sure she'll look up too." Kate tells me and I lift my head up and smile at each other neither of us breaking eye contact.
It isn't till Morgan starts whining that we break eye contact.
I cough clearing my throat as Kate looks away.
Kate looks back at me, "Well I'll just leave you and Morg-"
"Do you want to join Morgan and I in our walk to the playground?" I blurt out surprising Kate.
"You don't have to if you don't want to. I'm sure you're tired from practice and want to go home and relax." I nervously said scratching my neck in embarrassment as Kate stays silent till finally she nods smiling.
Kate chuckles, "Your cute when your nervous, and I would love to join you and Morgan."
"This is the first time someone has called me cute." I think mentally freaking out.
Kate holds my hand I glance down in shock and look back at Kate who is biting her lip now looking nervous. I push aside the nerves and bravely intertwined our hands making Kate smile widely at me and I do the same making me feel butterflies in my stomach at the sight of her smiling at me.
"C'mon let's go."
I push the stroller with one hand while Kate holds my other hand.
Kate tells me how practice went as we strolled throughout the park to the playground when we were stopped by an old lady.
"Aww you two look adorable together especially with your beautiful baby daughter." She complimented us and walked away before I could correct her.
Kate POV
Quinn and I stood in silence neither of us looking at each other. I couldn't help but blush at what the lady said to Quinn and I.
I know I only known Quinn for two weeks but what the lady said made me feel happy inside like I wouldn't mind if my future is with Quinn.
I discreetly look at Quinn who is looking at our intertwined hands afraid that she is thinking of letting go. I squeezed her hand hoping she'll see it as everything is okay that she has nothing to worry about.
Before I could say something I'm stopped by the sound of thunder.
"I didn't know it was going to rain today." I said.
"Me neither. Come on let's go get out of here before it starts raining will stay at my apartment it's close by." Quinn says I nod and walk to where Quinn car is parked.
I would offer for us to stay at my penthouse but didn't because it isn't close by and I didn't want Quinn meeting my mom yet.
