 Chapter 1

Every one of us think we know what we’re capable of. We have these rules that we set for ourselves that we would try and follow to a T. We tell ourselves every day that we have morals and there are certain things in life, which we would never do. We would look down our noses at those who doesn’t live up to our standards. We would judge others, not really understanding or taking the time to know, why they would break their own rules and do things that they would never have done before.

I should know, I was once one of those people who set rules and had morals. I had the most perfectly contented life. A great job, which I loved very much. A cute little apartment situated in the most perfect neighbourhood. A hobby that brought joy to my life, a caring family and a handsome boyfriend who loved me.

My life was perfect. Or was it?

My name is Amber Rose Parker and this is my story.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Amber stood outside this magnificent 18th century building, admiring the artistic way in which it was built. She loved old buildings, the distinctiveness about them sets them apart from other modern buildings. The romantic feel that they give off, makes one feel like they have missed out on a little of life from that era. To Amber they were just simply beautiful.

That particular building however, reminded her of a story her mother used to tell her and her older brother when they were younger. A story about an old building, which was over looked by many and was said to be haunted.

However, as magnificent as the building was, Amber was hesitant to enter. She was torn between going back home to her unfinished novel, or going to the stupid live art class that her best friend (who means well but was still in big trouble) signed her up for.

She stood there with the cool spring breeze blowing through her hair, cursing herself for not wearing her hair up. After 15 minutes of silent battle with herself, she sighed deeply and proceeded to enter the building.

Upon entering, she was slightly disappointed that the inside of the building did not live up to the outside. However, her disappointment was short lived, when she saw the graffiti art work, which covered every wall of the room from corner to corner.

The mixture of different colours splashed across the white walls, gave the place a feel of being vibrant and alive. To some it might look like vandalism, but to Amber it was a beautiful display of street art. Looking at the display made Amber feel right at home. She loved art, and seeing something as magnificent as what she was looking at, made her appreciate her talent even more.

“Hi there, are you here for the live art class?”

A soft spoken voice brought Amber out of her awe state. Turning, she smiled at the woman, who looked like she stole the rainbow to make her dress.

“Uh, yes I am.” She replied.

The woman smiled brightly then handed Amber a form saying, “Okey dokey honey, you just fill out this form and everything will be right as rain.”

Amber took the form from the overly bubbly woman and took a seat in a chair that was shaped like a shoe. Not just any shoe, a stiletto to be exact. One that looked suspiciously close to the pair her grandmother got her for Christmas. She picked up a magazine from a table in the shape of a hand bag. Yes, this too closely resembled a bag she was given by bother on her birthday.

Whoever owned the place, was obsess with fashion.

When Amber finished filling out the form, she got up to give it to the bubbly, rainbow woman who she notice was sitting at a desk in the middle of the room. Amber gave the room a once over and was surprised to see that all the room housed was, the bubbly woman’s desk, stiletto chairs and handbag coffee tables.

She handed the form to the woman, who beamed at her like she’d just given her the winning lottery ticket.

“That was quick love, you must be really excited to start your class. If you know what I mean.”

The woman, whose name she learnt was Grace gave her an opened mouthed wink. Emphasising the last part of her statement. Amber chuckled, amused. The woman then pointed her in the direction of the art class, Amber thanked her and walked off with a small smile still playing on her face.

When Amber entered the room the class was being help in, she just stood there shell shock. Her audible gasped was heard by all. The teacher turned to give her a stern look, but Amber’s eyes were firmly plastered on the totally hot, nude male model who was decked out in his birthday suit and holding an apple in his hand.

Amber was starting to thank her best friend very much for signing her up for the class. Because the man who stood before her was created by a master scalper. He had all the physical attributes that she wanted in a man. He was tall with olive skin tone, muscle in every part of his body. Oh, and she did mean every part! His green eyes were the most amazing she’d ever seen and the fact that he was almost six feet tall was her ideal height in a man.

Amber quickly found a seat at the far end of the room, because all the seats at the front, were taken by women who looked like they were doing more staring than drawing. Amber sat through the entire class doing exactly what the other women were doing. Giving her eyes an all you can see buffet, of the fine specimen of man handsomely displayed before her.

When the class was over she began packing up her things, readying herself to go home. She was going to give her best friend the biggest hug for signing her for the class and making her day. She was almost to the door when a hand touched her shoulder. Startled, she turned around too quickly and bumped into a solid wall of chest. The guy whose chest she smashed into held her waist to steady her.

“Sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you. I just wanted to say hi and ask if you would like to have coffee.”

His lips were moving and words were coming out, but for the life of her she couldn’t make out what he was saying. Her whole body was humming from the hands he still had on her waist. She was staring at him, like he was the most delicious piece of chocolate cake she has ever seen and she wanted a bite.

Hot naked guy was looking at her like she was a few eggs short of a dozen. She closed her eyes to clear head and took a step back, already missing the feel of his hands on her waist. She smiled at him.

“I’m so sorry, I didn’t quite catch that.”

Hot naked guy smiled then asked. “I was wondering, would like to have coffee with me?”

Amber thought about all the reasons she shouldn’t, then bundled them up and threw them out the door. No way was she passing up an offer to have coffee with one of god finest creation.

“Yes, I would love to have coffee with you. I know this great little place not too far from here, it’s quite small but trust me the coffee is to die for.”

Hot naked guy smiled and gestured to the door.

“Lead the way, and by the way my name is Tristan. Tristan Blake.”

Amber smiled. “Nice to meet you Tristan Blake, I’m Amber Rose Parker.”

They spent two hours at the café. Laughing, talking and enjoying each other’s company, immediately hitting it off. They exchanged numbers at the end of their coffee date and were friends for 2 months before the started dating.

8 months on and Amber was quite happy with her life, she followed all the rules and lived up to all the moral codes she had set for herself. Until the day she decided to take a short cut through the park, because she was running late for her date with Tristan. She was so focus on her phone, not realising that she was walking into someone, until she tripped. Spilling her coffee all over him and his laptop.

Amber looked up, horrified by what she had done. However, she was struck by his handsomeness. And for the life of her she couldn’t stop staring.

At that moment, Amber realised that it doesn’t matter how much you plan your life, if your destiny was written in stones, you can’t wash it away with water no matter how hard you try. Amber wasn’t sure if it was faith or the devil who made her enter the park, but whatever it was, made sure she tripped over her destiny stone. And try as she might, there was no washing away the devastatingly handsome Alexander Christopher.
