Chapter-4: Passed Excuses
With the wings damaged and no pilot in the proper state, the plane couldn't manage a controlled touchdown.
Even when I held onto the nearest seat for balance, the harsh touch of the wheels with ground made me fall on my face.
Or should I say ground?
My head was spinning due to the slight knock but I slowly got up. I went up to the window for down fresh air before I puke but we weren't even near to the 'a' in air.
The broken window as a door, water dashed inside and my heart stumbled again.
I simply couldn't die right that time. I literally still had millennia places to travel to - cheese and crackers!
I have to save myself I thought.
Before the water could fill up, I recalled the manual instructions of the last local plane I travelled with.
I needed to go back for the necessary equipments and spotted the mammals- as to describe both the types at the moment.
I can't leave them to die as well.
I took a deep breath before putting the ideas to action.
I can do this.
At first, knowing the risks, I opened all available doors, blowing the slides and detaching them to use as life-rafts.
Again being on the dodgy side, I ordered everyone to evacuate the aircraft and then to inflate their lifevests after they have left the plane.
Oh well, they were in their own world of panicking and shouting.
The water until then had reached up to my knees but as the plane went up fee inches for the floating session, I calmed down a bit.
I still can do this, I kept motivating myself.
To get everyone's attention, I stood up the seating chair and yelled as siren-y I could sound, "YO BISH! I CAM SAVE YOU GUYS! JU-JUST STOP PANICKING! STOP PANICKING."
Finally that time, the pig-headed rich brats listened to my instructions and we slowly got out of the plane.
"Now let's see, most passenger jets are designed to float for the time taken for an emergency evacuation to occur, which is roughly 90 seconds. So swim to that- that island you can see as fast as you can. Now go!"
The whole situation was now in a serene state, which made me contented.
The monkey however grabbed onto my shoulders and I was more than agitated, but then again it wasn't the right time to avenge.
I felt pity for the animals who couldn't swim out but it was nice to know they were less than 10 unlucky creatures while the other 50 joyfully escaped.
Looking at island, I knew we weren't where we were supposedly aimed to.
Moreover, it was my fault I let the monkey go with the king having to see me.
Maybe if I could just _? Never mind.
Separately we swam to the shoreline that was etched with so much white sand that it could've just been pure salt for my meat meal.
Talking about food, I was starving and my stomach grumbled.
That was until I saw the monkey hopping on the sand and washing off the water from his facial hairs.
He lifted up his face with a rather ravishing smile but boy, raw fury thrummed through my veins. The awful memories of the recent incidents that happened- it was all because of him!
My hands clenched as I grabbed him hard and shook violently up and down with full resentment, "You insolent stupid ogre! You fucking ruined everything! I- you- I so wish you were dead. I HATE YOU SO_"
"Anana...or Da or... Amanda right?"
Shit.
"Ye-yes?" I dropped the monkey as soon as his our eyes met. I straightened my position and my brain was quickly set off to find an excuse.
"What are you doing here? Were you following me?"
I blinked my eyes too many times to count and pondered over words, "Maybe...I mean no! Of course not!" My eyes wandered around to see if anything out on the beach could help my wild imagination, and it caught nothing but the hopeless stupid monkey, "He!" I pointed downwards to the monkey, "It was because of him! And your security! You see, before I could leave, I spotted this monkey escaping from his cage out of your jet, so I thought it would be a kind gesture if I took him inside quietly without a ruckus. But after I did, the door closed and I couldn't get out!" I uttered hastily.
"Do you were with the animals , for which the those beasts escaped? " He raised an eyebrow.
A sweat dropped down my forehead.
"The monkey did!" At least that was the truth. I shrugged.
"But you said you kept him in his cage...?"
God, he was exasperating. Why couldn't he be like the wholesalers who neglect all my blabbering words and just take into account the main shit?
"Yes! No! I mean, no I couldn't . You...I..I never got the chance. You see...uh...I, when the door closed I rushed to open it and forgot to close this stupid monkey in his cage and he opened the others and ....I ...uh."
"Okay. I see. Now what do you plan to do now?" He inquired humbly but with the same expression he has been keeping for the last hours. Basically everytime. Was he like 50 or something? I mean even my granny smiles a millennia times a day and she's like over 70...?
"Hey!" He snapped his fingers in front of my face, and I shook away from my thoughts.
"Ye-yes?"
"My question? And well, since your explanation was bit proportional to what had probably, happened, I can offer you to stay in a tent we bought as an extra."
"Sure."
He pressed his lips in a straight line and gestured for me to follow him. I couldn't believe how calm he was even in this barricade of palm trees, cypresses and coconuts.
My stomach howled for its lunch anyway, but too loud for him to hear. Damnit.
He looked back with a rather amused look and asked, "Are you that hungry?"
My cheeks reddened immediately and I was abashed at my stupid stomach. Why was everybody so stupid that day?
"No. Yes. I mean nothing."
"You seriously need to distinguish between saying yes and no." He again averted his gaze forward and called out to someone named Louise.
A dude with gouche in a black wet suit ran towards him but with a towel like cloth spread on his forearm . So he was the butler, I assumed.
He glared at me in a suspicious way and I simply looked the other way. The king, oh wait, I don't know his name, which is quite comical but useless for this situation anyway.
He introduced me to the 'butler' and asked to spread out the tents, along with the other arrangements.
He came in so prepared as if he knew all of this was ought to happen.
And the next thing I knew I was trapped in this goddamn island.
