Night in the Kingdom of Corona, three mysterious figures jump from roof to roof until they reach the streets. Once they stopped, they made their way toward the statue of Frederic. "Okay, boys. Let's get to work." One of the men said. They walked closer to the statue to get to work.

The next morning, Rapunzel and (Y/n) were having breakfast outside the terrace with their parents. Eugene is seen walking towards them with his plate in hand.

"It's the first thing people see when they enter the castle, Dad. I mean, maybe we could remodel it or something, you know, make it warm and welcoming." Rapunzel suggested. "Yeah, maybe the archway can use a little redecorating and be more lively." (Y/n) agrees with her big sister. "That archway is an important line of defense, girls. It is imperative it convey strength and security." Frederic didn't agree with his daughters. Eugene then comes in mumbling with food in his mouth. "You want strength and security, here's what you do..." Frederic raised his brow at Eugene. "Lion statues! Ooh, ooh, better yet... turn the archway into a giant lion's mouth! No, wait! Let's do the whole lion..." Eugene offered his suggestions. "Thank you, Eugene. I'll take those suggestions under advisement." Frederic cut him off. "Ahh, teamwork! Up high!" Eugene raised his hand for a high-five, but Frederic ignores him and keeps eating. "Your Majesty!" Rapunzel pulls on his sleeve while (Y/n) signals him to stop. "Right! You're eating. We're eating. Next time, then. Cool." Eugene sits back down and everything was awkward.

Back in Rapunzel's room. Rapunzel and (Y/n) were painting portraits of Pascal and Brielle while they listened to Eugene's suggestions again.

"You know, Blondie and (N/n), you guys might wanna start coming up with lion designs for that archway. I think that idea got some real traction with your dad." Eugene continues. "I'm sure the king loved your idea. You do realize he was just being polite, and probably didn't wanna call you a nitwit to your face." Cassandra walked behind Rapunzel and (Y/n) to stand by them. "Come on, Cass. Dad would have said that he just didn't like Eugene's ideas." (Y/n) crossed her arms.

"Yeah! And he's never been shy about calling me names to my face before." Eugene told Cassandra. "Well, before you go and have your royal advisor nameplate made up, you should probably know that whenever the king wants to ignore an idea, he always says, "I'll take it under advisement." Cassandra air quoted the last sentence.

"Ha! Shows what you know! I clearly remember him saying, "I'll"..." Eugene suddenly remembered that Frederic said the same words. 'Take those suggestions under advisement.' He then started to freak out. "Oh, no! He does think I'm a nitwit!"

" And there it is!" Cassandra smirked in satisfaction. "This changes everything! I cannot have a father-in-law who doesn't take me seriously!" Eugene exclaims in fear. "Why not? No one else takes you seriously." Cassandra told him. (Y/n) raised her hand. "I take him seriously."

Rapunzel walks up to her boyfriend. "See, there's (Y/n) and what Cassandra said is not true, Eugene. My dad thinks very highly of you. Though, maybe there are times you could be a bit more selective about the kinds of things you suggest to him. He is the king, after all." Cassandra is seen nodding and shaking her head at Rapunzel's statements. (Y/n) covers her giggles.

"Et tu, Blondie?" Eugene walks a few steps back before he starts to think. "Okay, you know what? It's fine. It's fine. I can fix this. Quick! Name things your dad likes, that I can pretend I also like to impress him!" Suddenly they hear a bell ringing loudly. "That's the emergency alarm!"(Y/n) stood from her seat.

They quickly ran outside into town and saw that Frederic, Arianna, and the Captain were already there. They all looked up to see that the statue of Frederic was decorated like a clown and there was a note that said 'Equis rules'.

"Equis? As in the kingdom next door, Equis?" Rapunzel asked as her little sister nodded at her. "What's that got to do with our dad's statue? Why is it all messed up?"

"Your dad's lifetime rival, King Trevor of Equis, likes to play pranks on him." The Captain whispered to the princess.

"By just drawing a silly face on Dad's statue?" Rapunzel scoffs. "I can't imagine any intelligent person finding this funny." To prove her wrong, Eugene began to laugh loudly, but he quickly clears his throat to stop.

"Anyway, King Trevor always manages to thoroughly embarrass your father." The Captain said. "I can hear you, Captain. And yes, I am embarrassed. Embarrassed for him! Really! The very idea of a grown man partaking in such infantile boobery!" Frederic exclaims.

Rapunzel turns to Cassandra. "I still don't get it." Cassandra placed a hand on her shoulder. "I'll explain later."

(Y/n) groans loudly as he pinched the bridge of her nose. "I swear, didn't I teach that clown a lesson last year?" Rapunzel turned towards her sister. "What did you do, (Y/n)?"

"Well, it happened like this..." Then (Y/n) began to tell Rapunzel what she did to Trevor last year.

Flashback

Last year, it was just an ordinary day in Corona. Well, it would have been if a certain idiot king didn't try to play pranks on his rival. Now, King Trevor is seen in a ridiculous disguise that anyone can see right through him. He was sneaking around to find the right thing to make Frederic look embarrassed. He found an unpainted wall that was calling out for him. He chuckles mischievously and was about to get to work. He found some paint and was planning to draw a ridiculous drawing of Frederic acting really foolish. As Trevor was painting the wall, he hear a voice calling out to him.

"What the heck are you doing?"

Trevor turned to see it (Y/n) in her princess attire. Lucky for her, she didn't have her guards with her.

"Oh, you're Frederic's daughter. Well, as you can see I'm very busy so go play or whatever it is little kids do?" Trevor shooed her and went back to painting. (Y/n) felt offended that he called her a little kid. She was thirteen for crying out loud! She looked at the painting and she knew who he was.

"King Trevor, I'm going to ask you to grow up and go home. I don't appreciate you making my dad look like a fool." (Y/n) crossed her arms. Trevor shrieked in shock. "How do you know it's me?!"

(Y/n) rolled her eyes. "Anyone can see it's you. I mean that outfit is pretty stupid."

"What are you talking about? This is an excellent disguise!!" Trevor calmed himself and kneeled to (Y/n). "How about this, you pretend you didn't see me and I'll give you so much candy from my kingdom. How does that sound?" He patted her head. He was really treating her like a little kid.

Biggest mistake of his life.

Stan and Pete were looking for (Y/n) by the bridge and they were freaking out of their king will know that they lost their daughter. Well, (Y/n) did sneak away from them to get some peace. "Do you see her anywhere?" Stan asked. "I don't see her anywhere. I'm termed what the Captain or the king will do to us." Suddenly, they heard crashing and someone squealing like a girl. They turned to see King Trevor running away with his disguise ripped to shred as he was screaming out. "SCARY PRINCESS, SCARY PRINCESS, SCARY PRINCESS!!!" Trevor made it past the bridge and continued to run back to his kingdom. Stan and Pete turned to see (Y/n) chasing Trevor, with her staff in hand, until he was out of sight from the bridge. "And don't come back, you clown!!!" She groans in annoyance until she noticed Stan and Pete. "Hey, guys, I'm ready to head back." She leads the way. "Remind me to not get into the princess's bad side," Stan said as Pete nodded in agreement.

Let's just say, the moment Frederic heard what (Y/n) did to Trevor, he had to scold her in front of Arianna, but once she was gone, he praised his daughter.

End of Flashback

"...and that's what happened." (Y/n) finished her story. Rapunzel was surprised by what (Y/n) did, while Cassandra looked proud. They turned back to listen to Frederic. "Trevor has been trying to lure me into partaking in his shenanigans since our youth. Well, I won't partake! Do you hear me, Trevor? I won't partake!" He exclaims into the sky.

Back in Rapunzel's room. Rapunzel is seen reading a book about Equis, while (Y/n) was making a silly drawing of Trevor. Inside his word bubble were the words. "I'm a clown!" (Y/n) laughed at her drawing and continued to make her drawing of Trevor more silly. The sisters turned to hear Eugene enter inside.

"Blondie, Kiddo, great news! Your dad just asked me to steal the Royal Seal of Equis for him!" Eugene announced. "Nice! It's about time that idiot gets a taste of his own medicine." (Y/n) smiled before she went back to her drawing.

"Stealing from Equis? That doesn't sound like a great idea." Rapunzel went up to him and showed him the book. "Did you know that they have over a thousand guards on duty at any given time?"

Eugene closed the book. "Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know, but don't you see? It's the perfect way for me to prove to him I'm more than just some nitwit thief!"

"By stealing something?" Rapunzel questioned. "No. By stealing something well." Eugene spun a globe that Pascal and Brielle were on until it stopped. Rapunzel gave him a look. "Hey, come on, it's for the official royal prank! I'm pretty sure that makes it completely legal... ish." Eugene was able to convince her. "If it's a prank, then you're good to go. Please prank that clown hard." (Y/n) encouraged. "Oh! Well, then let me come with you. I'm pretty good at surprises." Rapunzel grabbed her bag. "Sorry, Blondie, but I've assessed the situation, and this is a one-man job. Luckily, Flynn Rider does his best work alone."Eugene stated, but what he didn't know was that Frederic was waiting for him outside so they both left for Equis.

Rapunzel and (Y/n) were sitting by the window as they watched the view. Rapunzel was sulking a little, while (Y/n) was playing with her big sister's hair.

"Mmph, what's so fun about pranks, anyway?" Rapunzel questioned. Cassandra heard her as she was watering a plant. "Mostly, the look on the other person's face when they realize what's happening."

"So, it's supposed to surprise people?" Rapunzel asked more. "Sort of. It's meant to be a joke. It's funnier when it's from the person responsible for the prank." (Y/n) tries to explain. "Oh. So, like the jokes Dad tells." Rapunzel said. (Y/n) slowly shook her head. " Nope. That's not it." Cassandra stood next to them to explain more to Rapunzel. "You need to get somebody to expect one thing and then do something unexpected instead. It's basically entertainment for morons." Rapunzel picks up her painting of Pascal and Brielle. "Hmmm. Unexpected, eh?" Rapunzel then spotted Pascal and Brielle napping together. She puts eye masks and blankets on them. "By the time they wake up, they'll be so well rested they won't even know what hit them! I can't wait to see the look on their faces." (Y/n) smiled at her little animal friends. "Awww, they look so cute." Cassandra pulls off the eye masks which startled Pascal and Brielle to wake up awake. "Unexpected, but not clever."

Later in the guards' room. Stan and Pete were coming inside while they were arguing.

"All I'm saying is, if you bring a quiche to work, you should bring enough to share with your co-workers. That's—Just--" Pete tried to argue.

"Yeah, but, you don't even like quiche!" Stan told him.

"Yeah, but that's-- First of all, don't tell me what I don't like." Pete continued to argue.

"No, I know you don't like quiche." Stan tried to tell him.

"Okay, because I, I like a lotta things, but you never point that out."

Stan just sighs as he looks done with Pete. "Uh-huh."

"You just tell me all the stuff I don't like."

"Yeah."

"Anyway, let's just get this done. Okay, you start cleaning the spears, I'll work on the swords." Pete decided to end the argument. Before they can start cleaning the weapons, they heard the weapons cabinet rattling and shaking. They each grabbed a weapon and slowly approached the cabinet. Turns out, it was Rapunzel who burst out. She has cleaning supplies with her. "Ha! Gotcha!" She exclaims. Stan screams in fear. Turned out that Rapunzel had finished shining all the weapons. "Ha! I just polished all of these weapons before you could! You should see the look on your face!" Rapunzel was still cleaning a weapon. Stan was shaking as he was terrified. "You've just been pranked! Or as it's soon to be called, Rapunzelled." Rapunzel said proudly. Stan passed out from fear. Cassandra and (Y/n) came. The second princess goes over to Stan to see if he's okay. "That was clever. But not funny." Cassandra told me before she left. (Y/n) poked Stan. "Stan? Buddy?" She sighs. "Okay, Pete. Come help me with Stan." Pete nods and goes over to help (Y/n) with Stan.

Night had finally come. Maximus is outside drinking some water when suddenly an apple falls near him. he tries to eat it pull it was being pulled away. The apple lured him inside a barn. The doors of the barn suddenly closed as a shadowy figure is seen running around. Maximus was beginning to get scared. Rapunzel then appeared and pulls on a rope. She revealed to Maximus a ton of apples all around in, including an apple statue that looked like him. "Ha! Gotcha! You should see the look on your face!" Rapunzel said proudly. Maximus was overwhelmed with joy as he happily dig in on his gift from Rapunzel. Cassandra and (Y/n) opened the door as Rapunzel walks up to them. "Did you see the look on his face? He expected one apple, but then he got a whole bunch! Best. Prank. Ever." Rapunzel wore a proud smile. "Funny. But not mischievous." Cassandra told. (Y/n) continued to watch Maximus happily eating his apples. "At least, he's happy."

The next morning, Eugene and Frederic were walking back to the castle. They have completed their prank on King Trevor and had some bonding time together after all. When they arrived at the castle, they stopped at the sight of the main gate. They were shocked to see it painted with pictures of plants and birds.

"Oh, my." Eugene was still shocked. Rapunzel and (Y/n) run up to them. "Gotcha, Dad! Oh, man, you should see the look on your face right now." Rapunzel was proud of her prank.

"Well, I suppose it's fine. As long as you girls repaint the archway. By nightfall." Frederic told. "Don't worry, Dad. We will." (Y/n) smiled. "Of course, Your Majesty. Cassandra bowed her head as Frederic walked passed them. She turns her head towards Rapunzel. "Well, Raps, you finally figured out this whole prank thing." 

"Yes!" Rapunzel cheered. 

"It was unexpected, clever, funny, and mischievous, but you overlooked one of the most important parts of any good prank. You didn't think it through." Cassandra throws Rapunzel a paintbrush. "The three of us still have to repaint the archway by nightfall. Remember?" 

Rapunzel gives back her brush to Cassandra. "Sorry, but (Y/n) and I got princess duties to attend to. Looks like you're gonna have to do it all by yourself. Still, believe I didn't think it through?" (Y/n) shrugged innocently. "Sorry, Cass. You're on your own this time." Cassandra was annoyed at the sisters. She pulled up her sleeves and began to paint the walls. Out of the blue. Rapunzel and (Y/n) jumped at her. "Kidding! You just got pranked! We totally got you! You should've seen the look on your face!" Rapunzel exclaimed. "Ha! We got you, Cass!" (Y/n) laughed. 

Cassandra hands Rapunzel her brush back. "I just got Rapunzelled. Well played, Raps. Very well played." Eugene then came by and decided to help the girls out. "Oh! Hey, (Y/n). Remember how you call King Trevor a clown?" Eugene turned towards (Y/n). "Yeah, why?" (Y/n) asked. "You might want to see through your telescope and see for yourself," Eugene told her. (Y/n) decided to take a look. "And another thing! You might want to get your sketchbook out!" Eugene gave (Y/n) advice. (Y/n) nodded and decided to see what Eugene was talking about. 

(Y/n) was outside on top of the balcony to use her telescope to look at Equis. She adjusted the lens to her telescope so she can see better. She finally spotted what Eugene was telling her about. "Ha! He really is a clown!" (Y/n) could see Trevor tired up to his own statue as there was a panel that read, 'Corona rules' hanging from his neck. To put the cheery on top, there were townspeople surrounding him.

"Curse you, Frederic! Frederic, curse you!" Trevor yells out. 

"This is the best thing I've ever seen." (Y/n) began to sketch Trevor's embarrassing moment of his life. "I wonder how his seal is doing now?" What she didn't know is that Eugene and Frederic released Trevor's seal into the ocean as he swims happily and freely.
