Today was a big for Cassandra. It was the day that the Challenge of the Brave will begin soon. This challenge will see who in the kingdom is brave and strong. After hearing that the Challenge of the Brave is coming today, Cassandra has been training nonstop the entire morning. As Cassandra was training, there were children watching. After she finished her training, she was pleased to see that she had an audience. 

"Whoa! It's Princess Rapunzel and Princess (Y/n)!" A girl exclaims. Cassandra was confused when she saw the princess sisters walking closer to her. The children ran up to hug the princess as Cassandra was disappointed that she lost the attention. "Wow, Cass. What is all this?" Rapunzel asked. "Nothing. I'm warming up for the Challenge of the Brave this morning. It's just a competition to find the toughest warrior in all of Corona. No big deal." Cassandra explains with a smile. "Cool that sounds exciting!" (Y/n) smiled. "Yeah, it is. Where can we sign up?" Rapunzel asked. 

"Yeah, like I said, no big--" Cassandra stopped when she realized what she heard. "Oh, sorry, what?" 

"We wanna sign up! Rapunzel exclaims and (Y/n) nods. "You mean compete?" Cassandra was getting nervous for their answer. "Yeah, let's do it together!" (Y/n) adds. The children cheered and encouraged them to do the tournament. "That would be fun. But I'm not so sure that's the best idea." Cassandra said. "(Y/n) and I are brave! And we're always up for a challenge." Rapunzel said with determination. "But the... the thing is, the challenge is by invitation only, so you can't do it. Oh, man, ugh! Rules are rules." Cassandra lies. Owl was disappointed at Cassandra's lies towards her friends as he looks down at her. "Oh. Well, thats okay. You can still count on us to cheer you on." (Y/n) told. Cassandra smiles at her friends, happy to have their support. 

Later that day, it was time for the Challenge of the Brave and everyone was at the arena to watch the tournament. 

Announcer - Welcome to the Challenge of the Brave, where you will see skilled combatants from all the lands compete in a series of death-defying challenges that culminate in the main event! The ultimate melee! Only one will walk away with the respect of the seven kingdoms! Today's favorite is the world's most renowned warrior. Some say he's the meanest, most ruthless fighter the world has even seen! Wreck Marauder!

As the announcer was making the big announcement, Wreck marches towards the arena. The rest of the challengers ran away in fear from him. A man accidentally bumps into him. Wreck scares him and the man runs away screaming as he jumps into the crowd to escape the huge challenger. "Whose house is this? This is Wreck's house!" Wreck yells. He throws his boar pellet as it lands on Shorty. 

"Yeah! That's my boy right there! Wreck Marauder! I have seen that guy fight all over the world. He's undefeated! Challenge of the Brave! Challenge of the Brave !" Eugene chants as Pascal and Brielle were dancing to the rhythm. "Everybody, come on! All right, the beard of bees lady!" Eugene tried to get a high five, but she walks past him. Pascal was able to catch a bee, but the bee moves around in his mouth. He quickly spits it out as Brielle pats his back. "Oh, yeah! How about these seats, huh? If I were any closer to the action, they'd be scraping my face off of Wreck Marauder's knuckles!" Eugene pulls out a horn and blows loudly. The audience covered their ears, Pascal changes colors from the sudden surprise and Brielle uses her tail to muffle the loud noise. After Eugene stopped, an employee approached him. "Uh, sir? Some of the competitors are requesting we move you to a new seat." Eugene smiles. "Oh, you see that? Moving this super fan to the super fan section." Eugene climbs up the stairs to the top section. "Ha! I wish I could say this has been fun, but I respect you all too much to lie to your faces." 

In the competitors section, Rapunzel and (Y/n) were looking for Cassandra to wish her luck on the tournament. As they were greeting the other competitors as they tried to find Cassandra. "Hi! Hello! Good morning! How are you?" Rapunzel smiled as she greets. (Y/n) went to a female challenger. "Whoa! Your teeth are so sharp and shiny! They look great!" (Y/n) complimented as the female challenger patted her head. Rapunzel gasped as she saw their old friends, Hook Foot. "Hook Foot! Why so mad? Just do a dance and give that smile a second chance." Rapunzel and (Y/n) hugged him as he smiled. Cassandra was beginning to fell embarrassed so she pulled the sisters away. "Probably not the best place for hugs, Raps and (N/n). What are you two doing down here? This is for competitors only." 

"We're here to wish you luck, Cass." (Y/n) told. Cassandra smiles. "Thanks, but I don't need luck. I need to use this time to get inside the competition's head. You know, psyche 'em out with some trash talk." Rapunzel was confused. "Trash talk? Like talk about garbage, literally?" (Y/n) patted her sisters arm. "Thats not even close, sis." 

"Watch this." Cassandra goes up to another challenger. "Hey, you! You do realize when they put the call up for the strongest warriors, they weren't talking about breath. Right?" As a response, the challenger burps at Cassandra as she gags from the awful stink. "Why don't you go back to the castle, lady-in-waiting?" He laughs. 

Rapunzel and (Y/n) walked towards Cassandra. "Well, that wasn't very nice, Cass." Rapunzel said. "Yeah. That's the point." Cassandra told. 

"All right. I'll give it a shot. I guess." Rapunzel rolls up her sleeves and walked towards a challenger. "Excuse me, you? Yeah, you. Uh-huh.Prepare to be talked trash to . Look at you with those..." Rapunzel paused as she admired the tattoos. "decorative tattoos." Rapunzel turns to her little sister. "Cool, you're right. These are amazing . And did you see the lettering on "Skull Kickr"? Wow." (Y/n) smiled. The challenger stood up and looked down at the two princesses. "What about it?" 

"It's lovely." Rapunzel and (Y/n) commented. The challenger calmed down. "Yeah, well, it... it was my mother's name." (Y/n) smiled as she placed her hand on his arm. "Your mother is really special to you, isn't she?" The challenger nods as Cassandra facepalms. "Well, I think she'd be really proud of the menacing goon you've become." Rapunzel smiled. They turned to see the challenger that was rude to Cassandra was crying behind them. "I'm gonna go see my mom!" He runs off.  Cassandra was getting more annoyed. Wreck was walking by when he was stopped by Rapunzel and (Y/n). "Whoa! Look at you! You're a big guy, aren't you?" Rapunzel looked up at Wreck. Cassandra quickly pulls Rapunzel and (Y/n) away. "Come on, Rapunzel and (Y/n)." 

"What do we have here? No one told me they were letting table scraps compete." Wreck insulted. Cassandra was getting offended. "Scraps? You're the one that's gonna walk out of this in pieces." She stepped closer to Wreck. "I look forward to makin' everyone who ever loved you cry their eyes out." Wreck threaten 

"Whoa! Listen, mister, trash talk is one thing, but that was just mean." Rapunzel defends. "Um, Rapunzel...." (Y/n) tried to stop her big sister. "Uh, Cassandra has feelings, you know?" Rapunzel continued. "Aw, poor little baby." Wreck said ironically. "And another thing, you should be..." Before Rapunzel could continue, Cassandra and (Y/n) stopped her. "Okay. That'll do, Rapunzel." Cassandra pulls the sisters away as the challengers laugh. "Listen. I have to warm up, so why don't you both go find Eugene in the stands? You guys can cheer me on from there. Way back there." Cassandra explains as she pointed at the far back. 

"Yeah. Yeah, sure, okay. I got it. I got it. You need to focus. No distractions." Rapuznel and (Y/n) began to walk away, but Rapunzel goes back to hug Cassandra. "Oh! Sorry. I forgot a good luck hug!" She stopped and patted her head instead. "Oh, right. It's not a place for hugging, I'm sorry. Good luck!" Rapunzel walks away first. (Y/n) saw that Cassandra was feeling humiliated since the challengers were laughing at her. (Y/n) walked closer to Cassandra. "Hey, Cass. Don't let those guys get to you, you're the strongest warrior I know." (Y/n) told. Cassandra smiled at (Y/n) and ruffled her hair. "Thanks, (Y/n)." (Y/n) smiled back and waved as she went to go find Rapunzel. 

Announcer - Ladies and gentlemen, take your seats! It's time to meet today's contestants! Give it up for Razorblade McDoom!

Razorblade roars as the audience cheered for her. "The Razor's gonna carve ya... like a turkey!"

Rapunzel and (Y/n) were able to find Eugene sitting on the top of the seats as she was excited for the tournament. The were panting for exhaustion from the many steps they had to take. They were to finally sit by Eugene's side. "Hey, Blondie, Kiddo, you two got the deluxe seats, too, huh? You know, they put you up here so you can see all the action." Eugene said. "Well, I can barely see anything." (Y/n) said honestly. 

Announcer - Next up, the unstoppable Wreck Marauder!

Wreck roars. "Wreck has three words for you! You're gonna get wrecked!" (Y/n) began to use her fingers to count. "...three...four...That's four words." Eugene looks back at one of the commentators. "Hey. If I didn't know any better, I'd swear that guy down there looks just like... Cassandra?" 

"That is Cassandra! Wow! I've never seen Cass so nervous." Rapunzel explains. Eugene was feeling doubtful about that statement. "I guess I can't blame her. I mean, she worked so hard to get invited to this competition." Rapunzel continued to explain. "Invited? No, you don't need an invitation to compete. You just have to be dumb enough to do it. Like Cassandra. Ha-ha! Wooo!" Eugene laughs. "Wait, anyone can compete?" (Y/n) questioned. Rapunzel gasped. "(Y/n), that means the three of us can do this together!" (Y/n) liked the idea. Rapunzel kisses Eugene and runs off with (Y/n). 

Announcer - And finally, the Iron Handmaiden, Caaasan...

A woman approaches the announcer, whispers something and gives him a paper.

Announcer - Wow. Ladies and gentlemen, we have a last-minute surprise entries! Please welcome the Fearsome Follicle, the Heir with the Hair, the Maid with the Braid, Rapunzel! And its a girl wth fiery spirit, don't laugh at the girl with the staff, the princess of power, (Y/n)!

The crowd cheer as Rapunzel and (Y/n) enters the arena. Pascal, Brielle, and Eugene are looking shocked. A little girls cheers for the princess sisters. "Cassandra! This is gonna be so much fun!" Rapunzel and (Y/n) run up to Cassandra as they hugged her. "Oh, Blondie, Kiddo, what have you done?" Eugene was still in shocked. "Did I not bring enough of the popcorn?" A blonde man asked. "Good news, Cassandra. We can compete together! Isn't that great?" Rapunzel squealed. "This ill be great!" (Y/n) cheered. "That is so great!" Cassandra said with a stifle smile. 

Announcer - Ladies and gentlemen, it's time for the first event! The Gauntlet!

The Gauntlet was an obstacle that had flying, giant hammers moving back and forth. A challengers runs off as he tries to pass, but one of the hammers hit it. Everyone could see him flying away and (Y/n) could have sworn she heard a Goofy scream from the challenger. Cassandra quickly grabbed Rapunzel's and (Y/n)'s shoulders. "You're sure you both wanna do this?" Rapunzel and (Y/n) nodded with determination. "Sure do!" 

Announcer - Next up for The Gauntlet, Cassandra!

Eugene was climbing down the stairs with Pascal and Brielle on his shoulders. "Excuse me. Comin' through. Emergency. Naive princesses making horrible life decision. Pardon me." 

As Cassandra approaches the Gauntlet, she was stopped by Wreck as he bends a metal bar. Cassandra was confused. "What's that supposed to be?" Cassandra questioned. "It's a knot... as in you're knot going to win." Wreck laughs. Cassandra wasn't impressed so she walked around him. "It's a thinker." Wreck said. Rapunzel and (Y/n) cheered as Cassandra was about to go. With ease, she was able to pass the Gauntlet without a scratch on her. Everyone cheered for her and a little girl cheered for her to hear. 

Announcer - Next up, Princess Rapunzel!

Eugene was closing his eyes as he prayed that Rapunzel won't get hit by any of the hammers. Rapunzel closes her eyes as she focuses on the movement of the hammers. She dances her way to the other side with elegance and grace. "Oh, yeah! That's my girlfriend right there!" Eugene cheered. He turns to Pascal and Brielle. "What? I wasn't worried, she's got this. Wooo!" The same little girl cheered for Rapunzel. Everyone in the crowd cheers loud. 

Announcer - Up next, Princess (Y/n)!

Eugene closes his eyes again as he feared that (Y/n) will get hit by a hammer. (Y/n) takes a breathe and focuses on the movement of the hammers. Finding the right time, she does front flips to get across the Gauntlet. She was able to get to the other side. Everyone cheered for her as the same little girl cheered for (Y/n). Casandra was annoyed by them and walks away. The tattooed challenger added Rapunzel and (Y/n)'s name on his arm. 

"Cassandra, did you see that? I told you I could handle myself." Rapunzel runs up to Cassandra as (Y/n) follows. Cassandra scoffs. "Nice dance and front flips, Rapunzel and (Y/n)." (Y/n) was confused about Cassandra's behavior. "Uh, thanks, I guess?'"

"Not sure those routines will do much good against Wreck in the Dead Man's Circle." Cassandra said. They saw Wreck walking through the Gauntlet causally as the hammers chatter when they hit him. "But, hey, maybe you'll both get lucky again." Cassandra walks away from them. Rapunzel was getting annoyed. "That wasn't luck." (Y/n) was beginning to get worried about her sister and friend. Rapunzel and (Y/n) go up in line with the other challengers. 

Announcer - Challengers! Prepare for the next event!

The next event was using an arrow to hit the target. Cassandra able to hit every target. Rapunzel was having trouble using a bow, so she uses a guitar to shoot her arrows. (Y/n) was able to use a bow to shoot many arrows on the target. Wreck destroys the targets with a giant arrow. Eugene got excited and blow his horn again. After that he was moved to a different seat, again. The challenges goes on by seeing how can jump the highest, but Hook Foot didn't make it. Next was a log rolling where all the challenger along with Cassandra fell in the water. (Y/n) and Rapunzel jumped in and had fun with the rest of the challengers. Cassandra could see that Rapunzel and (Y/n) were climbing up the ranks. With each challenge, Cassandra was getting more and more annoyed that Rapunzel and (Y/n) were actually passing. While Eugene, Brielle, Pascal kept getting moved when they caused a disturbance. 

Cassandra official had enough and began to yell out of frustration. "Do you even know the rules? Aren't shoes required for the Log Roll? Isn't there a age requirement for the tournament!? Ugh, somebody check the Rulebook of the Brave!" She turns to the challengers. "Guys! Am I the only one that has a problem with this? The princesses is making a mockery of this competition!" Hookfoot walks over to Cassandra. "Hey, it's okay, kid. When you're mad, do a dance! Give that smile a se..." Cassandra cuts him off. "Oh, go eat a turkey leg, Hook!"

Cassandra finally had enough of Rapunzel and (Y/n)'s antics and she marches towards them. "Okay, listen, Rapunzel, (Y/n), this has gone far enough. Let's call it a day." Cassandra said. "Ha-ha. I will call it a day... the day I won the championship. Boom! Trash talk!" Rapunzel exclaims. "Come on, guys. Enough is enough. Why don't we just do the tournament for fun like we've plan?" (Y/n) tried to reason. "You mean what you and your sister planned. Let's see where you both land after the Dead Man's Circle." Cassandra glared. "Yeah, okay, yeah. We'll totally see where we land after the Dead Man's Circle. And what is the Dead Man's Circle?" Rapunzel questioned. "It's the final event. And believe me, your little dances won't save you this time." Cassandra told. Rapunzel and (Y/n) glared at each other before they scoff away from each other. "Guys, come on! Let's not fight!" (Y/n) begged. "This is awkward." Hookfoot said. (Y/n) sighed. "You have no idea, Hook." Hookfoot gave (Y/n) a comforting pat on the back as she smiled at him. 

At the backstage, the challengers were deciding on what weapon to pick for the final event and leaving them in a chariot. 

Announcer - Time for the final event! The Dead Man's Circle! Each warrior will battle to the finish, using the weapon of their choice!

Rapunzel found a flying pan and adds it to the chariot. (Y/n) grabbed her trusty staff and adds it in the chariot. After that, they went back inside the arena. Once inside, they were stretching for a bit before the final tournament began. 

"Rapunzel, maybe we should talk Cassandra. After all, we did suddenly entered the tournament when she worked hard to get this far." (Y/n) said. Rapunzel stared at her little sister and smiled. "Maybe, you're right, (Y/n)." 

Now, all of the challengers were surrounding the ring. The sisters saw Cassandra and they walked over to her. "Hey, (Y/n) and I... we know today's been weird. We just... we wanted to... we don't know, we guess... uh, we just wanted to say good luck." Rapunzel goes to hug her but stops. "Right, right. Sorry, sorry, sorry.'No hugging, gotta remember that." (Y/n) steps in. "Yeah, Cass. We're sorry for not telling you that we were entering and we wish you luck." Now Cassandra was conflicted. "Raps, (N/n), I just wanna..." Cassandra was interrupted by the announcer.

Announcer - It's now time for the no-holds-barred elimination round! Remember folks, once someone steps outside the ring, they are out! The last one standing is our champion!

"I just wanna say..." Cassandra tries to talk again, but Wreck cut in between. "Are you ready for this? 'Cause it's gonna get ugly in here." Cassandra glares at the man. 

Announcer - Ready! Set! Battle!

All of the chargers ran into the ring and grabs their weapon of choice. The other challengers grabbed their weapons and battled each other. When (Y/n) grabbed her staff, she noticed her sister was looking for her frying pan. "Oh, w... wait wait wait! Has anyone seen a frying pan?" (Y/n) saw that Wreck was about to attack Rapunzel. She quickly pulls her big sister away before Wreck could get her. As for Cassandra, she was tripped by another challenger and before he could defeat her, he was thrown out of the ring by Wreck. Cassandra was able to throw out another challenger. Other challengers tried to defeat Wreck, but he was not match. "Is that all you got?" Wreck mocked. He was able to throw them out of the ring. "You fools take on Wreck!"Cassandra clears her throat to grab his attention. Before they could fight, they noticed Rapunzel dancing around as she eliminated a challenger, while her little sister was able to use her staff to knock a challenger out of the ring. They were even working together to get more challengers out. 

Announcer - Wow, what poetic moves by Rapunzel and (Y/n) What sisterly teamwork!

Soon, the crowd was cheering for Rapunzel and (Y/n). They waved at the crowd and this was getting Cassandra more furious. 

"That chirpy little hairball and puny little brat are mine!" Wreck exclaims. 

"Not if I get to her first!" Cassandra shoots arrows at Wreck as they pin him to the central mast. To prevent from getting to the princess. He struggles to get free. "Hey, Wreck! Stick around."

Cassandra goes over to Rapunzel and (Y/n) and shoots an arrow at them. "Whoa! That was close." (Y/n) exclaims. Cassandra drops her bow and grabs a staff. "Well, looks like it's just the three of us." Cassandra goes to attack the sisters. (Y/n) spotted another staff and throws it at Rapunzel. They were able to dodge Cassandra in time. "That all you got?" The sisters said in union. Cassandra was so furious that she was barely holding back as she attacks them. 

"Cass, what's gotten into you?" Rapunzel questioned. What the three girls didn't know that Wreck was able to free himself. Cassandra was able to kick Rapunzel and (y/n) to the edge of the ring. Rapunzel was surprised at the action. "Hey! Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa! Wait, stop! We're supposed to be friends!"

"A friend wouldn't be so oblivious, Rapunzel and (Y/n). You have no idea what this contest means to me. I mean, you're both princesses, you've both got nothing to prove. To you guys, this was just a fun way to blow off a Saturday, but to me, it was a chance to show everyone that I am more than just your lady-in-waiting. And just when I thought I might get even the slightest bit of respect..." Cassandra sighs. She didn't want to finish her explanation. "Never mind." 

"Respect? Cassandra, I respect you more than you could possibly imagine. I mean, I... I look up to you. Why do you think I wanted to enter this thing in the first place? You are my friend, and... as your friend, ahh... I should've realized how important this was to you. I'm so... so sorry." Rapunzel apologized. 

"I'm sorry too, Cass. I wanted to enter to show how strong I can be too. I've been looking up to you ever since I was little. I mean, I looked up to you so much that I would follow you around and watch her train. You've been there for me when I was alone. I wanted us to do this tournament together, but as a good friend I shouldn't have done it. I respect you so much, Cassandra." (Y/n) made her statement. 

Rapuznel drops her staff, while (Y/n) puts her staff away. Cassandra heard Wreck charging at them. She quickly pushes them out of the way. "Look out!" Once they were out of the way. Cassandra was able to defeat Wreck by using the staff she had by sending him flying out of the ring. He crashes into the seats and a little butterfly was able to knock him out. "Hey, Wreck! Looks like I'm not not going to win! Heh... it's a thinker!" She laughed. The crowd cheers loudly for her. When Cassandra turns back to Rapunzel, they were shocked to hear two bell rings. Cassandra looks down to see that she's out of the ring and Rapunzel's step was out of the ring when Cassandra pushed her out of the way. This means that (Y/n) was the only one left in the ring. Cassandra walks over to (Y/n), she grabs her arms and raises up high, signaling that she was the winner of the tournament. Rapunzel smiled and runs up to hug her little sister. "You did it, (Y/n)!" Cassandra smiled. "Congratulations." (Y/n) smiled sheepishly. "Sorry, Cass. I didn't mean for any of this to happen. Rapunzel and I thought it would be fun to compete." Cassandra lets out a sigh. "Doesn't matter." Rapunzel stood next to Cassandra. "(Y/n) and I should've realized how important this all was to you." 

The announcer came over and gave the winner's trophy to (Y/n). She stared at the trophy and smiled. "I actually know who this trophy should belong to." (Y/n) gives the trophy over to Cassandra. The other challengers applaud at Cassandra as the tattooed challenger writes Cassandra's name on his other arm. He kisses both arms with his new tattoos on them. The audience cheers for them, even the little girl cheered for them the loudest. The rest of the challengers lift up Cassandra, but she quickly jumps down and walks towards Rapunzel and (Y/n). "What, no hug?" Rapunzel and (Y/n) hugged her and they three of them walked out of the arena. Now that the tournament is over they could hang out again and relax together, even with heir new challenger buddies.
