Cass was beating up a bush. The group had stopped to take a break, and everyone went their separate ways. She was pretty sure raps was either meditating or painting somewhere. Euegene probably went to find the nearest body of water to look at himself, shorty was probably sleeping, and Lance was probably looking for food. Cass was practicing her sparring skills with the bush she was beating up. Or at least, trying to. There was one thing she couldn't stop thinking about.

The kid. Varian. Ever since they left, he was always on her mind. At first it was pure anger and hatred. After all, he tried to kill her. But as they traveled, the anger faded away. She realized that he had no one to guide him, and didn't know what to do. So, under his facade of hatred, and disrespect, he was just a scared little boy, with no one to help out. She also realized something else. Something she would never admit. She had feelings for him. She tried to get him out of her head, but never could. She was always wondering if he was ok, what was he doing at that moment, that kind of thing.

Then she looked up. She saw a lantern. And not just any lantern, a lantern with the Coronan sun on it. And it looked like it had a note attached to it. She decided to follow it. And when she did, she ran into Rapunzel. Painting. Just as she expected.

"Cassandra? What are you doing here? I thought you would be training your hand after... after what happened," she said. Cass pointed at the large lantern. Raps grabbed it with her hair and pulled it down. "Let's get everyone else before we read it."

They ran around the forest, bringing everyone back to the caravan. And shorty was sleeping inside. "So, everyone, we found this lantern, and a note attached to it. The note was addressed to us," Cass explained. 

"Are you going to read it?" Eugene asked. Rapunzel nodded.

"Dear Rapunzel and her friends,

The prisoner known as Varian has escaped. We tried to catch him, but he got away. We would like your help finding him.

-Coronan Guard"

"Huh. Honestly I'm not surprised he escaped. Wait, does this mean we have to go back?!" Lance said. Rapunzel nodded. Cass was shocked. Where was he? Was he ok? Did he get hurt? Was he even alive?!

"Um, Rapunzel. What if something happens to him?" Cass asked. Rapunzel explained that they would take care of him until he was alright. That still didn't ease cass's anxiety. She was still worried about him. The next day day, Rapunzel came up to her.

"He'll be fine, Cassandra. I'm sure of it. He's a lot stronger than he looks."

"But... what if... what if he dies? What if he's already dead? What if he's currently dying and we can't save him?!" Rapunzel was taken aback. She had never known Cass to care that much. About anyone!

"... Do you like him? Romantically?"

"W-WHA-HOW-N-NO?!" Cass screamed. Even though Raps was right. She did like the kid. She liked him a lot. She was really hoping he was ok. Wondering where he was at that moment.

Meanwhile, at Hogwarts, Varian had just gotten out of bed. It was the weekend, and Hermione was supposed to tutor him. He had a lot to catch up on, after all. He was a fifteen year-old, a fifth year, who had no experience. He walked over to the great hall for breakfast and met up with Harry, Hermione, and Ron. Hermione introduced him to her friends, and then they went to find somewhere for her to tutor him. They walked through the castle, she was basically giving him a tour, and ended up at Dumbledore's office. Hermione got an idea.

"Stay here!" She said, and went down to the office. Dumbledore came up with her a bit later. "Professor Dumbledore is going to let us use his office!" She said. Dumbledore nodded. They all went down and started the tutoring session.

2 years later...

Cassandra was in the castle. They had searched every kingdom. Several times (hehe seven). They still couldn't find Varian. Then she thought of something crazy. She ran into Rapunzel's room.

"Rapunzel! Why didn't we think of this before?! It feels like he isn't anywhere in the universe, so what if he's in ANOTHER universe?!" She said. Rapunzel's eyes widened.

"That's genius! We need to... somehow, build a portal! To another universe!"

1 year later...

"WE DID IT!" Rapunzel shouted. They had finally built a portal. This better be worth it. Cass had already confessed that she liked the kid, so if they didn't find him, she would tear everything down in the world. Cass came in. She was so proud. They could finally look for Varian, and find him.

Cass stepped up to the portal and pulled the lever (PULL THE LEVER KRONK!). The outline of the portal glowed. "Take us to Varian," she said, and in an instant, the portal bloomed to life, with bright, dancing colors. "Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go." They all walked through the portal at the same time. 

A second later they were on a bridge. "Where are we?" Eugene asked. There was a large castle in front of them, and multiple carriages. "What are those things?!" Eugene said, pointing towards the carriages. There were weird black skeleton-like horses with wings pulling them. Rapunzel's eyes widened. 

"What? What is it? And how are those carriages moving on their own?" Cass said. Apparently she couldn't see these things. Then someone came out of the castle. She had light blonde hair, almost white, and blue eyes. She was wearing a blue and grey sweater with a small crest on it. She also had a scarf in the same colors. She noticed them and walked over.

"Hello! Who are you?" She asked. She hopped on the carriage. As she did, one of the magazines she was holding dropped. Cass picked it up and gave it to her. "Oh, thank you! What's your name?" She noticed Eugene and Rapunzel staring at the skeleton-horse-things. "Oh! You can see them too? Most of the school can see them. It used to be only me and two others. But when you know who died, everyone could see them. And now two more people can see them!!"

"You can see them? What are they?" Rapunzel asked.

"Thestrals. You can only see them if you've seen someone die. I guess if you remember it too. Harry could only see them after Cedric was killed in front of him. That was... 4 years ago? It was a while ago. And once me and Varian were on a walk and he pointed them out and asked me what they were. When I asked him who he saw die, he said he would rather not talk about it. I saw my mother die. I was pretty young. My dad raised me on his own." That was a lot of information.

"You know Varian?!" Cass said. She couldn't wait to see him again.

"Yes, he's also a ravenclaw. We hang out a lot. He gets very quiet sometimes."

"Can you take us to him? Whatever your name is?" Rapunzel asked.

"Yes. Only if you tell me your names though. And mine's Luna." She smiled. They all introduced themselves, and Luna made them stay there. She ran to the Ravenclaw common room and into the boys' dorm. She shook Varian vigorously, and he woke up. "Wake up! Some people wanna see you."

"What? Who?" Varian said. It was usual for her to wake him up like that, but she never told him why, unless he was late for class.

"Three people. I don't want to keep them waiting. One was a boy, with brown hair and a goatee, another was a girl, there were two girls, with long blonde hair, in a braid that reached her feet, and the last one had short black hair." Varian's eyes got bigger and bigger with each person's description.

"Cassie? She's here?" He asked. Luna nodded, and Varian threw on his clothes (not in front of her, and he was wearing pajamas, don't get ideas!), and raced to the gate. He ran straight towards Cass, and he gave her the biggest hug ever. Even bigger than Rapunzel's hugs.

"VARIAN! WAIT UP! WHY ARE YOU SO FAST?" Luna called, panting every three seconds. "So! How do you guys know each other?"

"Cassie is my friend, so is Rapunzel, and Eugene." After he said that, Rapunzel gave him a bone-crushing hug. "Raps! You're destroying my lungs!" He somehow managed to wheeze out.

"Oops! Sorry! Still working on that," she said. Luna asked if she should go inside, and they all agreed on that. After she went inside they all started bombarding Varian with questions. "Guys stop!" Rapunzel said, making everyone go quiet. "Varian, do you still like Cass?" He nodded. "YESSSSSSSSS!!! NOW KISS YOU TWO!" Both Varian and Cass blushed a lot.

"We're not doing that, raps," Cass said. She wasn't ready yet. "Varian, are you going to come home?" She asked the now seventeen year-old.

"When the school year is over. I think it would be weird for someone who was accepted in the middle of 5th year to just disappear in the last few weeks of 7th year," he explained. "It would be weird for anyone to disappear at any point in any year, actually." They all made a plan that at the end of the school year, they would come get him, and bring him home.
