3rd person

You hated it. How he would talk to her. Flirt with her. Even though you make it so obvious that you have loved him for a while now, even his best friend noya knows. It hurt so much, watching him every practice, saying a quick hello to you, and then straight off to her. Kiyoko. Oh how you held a grudge against her, ever since she got to the school she stole the attention of ryu. 
Here comes another day to 'look forward to'

*time skip till friday*
"Hey ryu-senpai!" You yelled cheerfully running up to your buzzcut bestfriend, who you one day hoped to be more.

"Oh? Hey (y/n). Hows it been?" He asked without a bit of enthusiasm, it hurt. For him to put so much effort into someone who isnt interested in a relationship.. and someone who loves him is right infront of him, he is always complaining on how he wants a girlfriend. Ive been friendzoned a couple times... yeah..

"Ey! Put some effort into it ryu!" Noya yelled as he slung his arm over his teammates shoulder casually.

"Ok." He just said that.. nothing else. I had to walk off before i started getting emotional.

"Umm i gotta go guys ok? Cya round noya! Ryu!" You yelled, with a plastic smile. As soon as you got to the girls washrooms... it all came out, and you didnt stop it.

*another time skip*

"Ok ryu! Truth or dare!" Noya yelled at his friend, the whole team deciding to take a break and play a game. Tanaka being stubborn of course said..

"Dare!" As he clenched his fists in exitement. Waiting for a dare, noya put his hand to his chin stroking his non-existant beard.

"Ahah! I got it!" He yelled everyone on the edge of their seats waiting for it. Of course they all knew what he was going to ask.

"I dare you to ask (y/n) out!" Noya yelled as all the other boys cheered and oohed him on.

"Ok!" He said somewhat cheerfully as he went off to find you.

"Yo (y/n)! I uh.. gotta ask you something!" He yelled down the now empty corridors. As you turn to face him, a light red coated your cheeks.

"H-hi ryu! Whats up?" You asked nervous about what hes gonna say. What if he doesnt wanna be friends anymore!? You thought only the worst.

"U-um... uh..." this was alot harder than he thought. Asking out his bestfriend? As a joke? What if she gets uncomfortable? What if she gets upset after i say it was a dare? He thought.

"Well.. i uh. I *cough* need to ask you s-something.. and uh its important.." you walked a little closer getting more curious by the second.

"W-would you maybe wanna be my girlfriend? I uh-" you were instantly overjoyed so you yelled what was on your mind.

"Of course! Of course! Do you love me too! Oh my god! Fibally! I love you so-" you were cut off.... by something that just absoloutley ruined you..

"Heh.. uhh it was a d-dare..." he said, as soon as he looked up from the ground, he saw the tears already running down your cheeks, instant guilt filled him.

"I... i thought you were serious... i just c-confessed my love and you just THREW IT by saying it was a dare! How could you be so oblivious! Ive liked you for so long TA-NA-KA!" you say his name.. his last name.. almost in a mockibg manner, but you were just upset, very very upset at that.. after you rant you ran off as fast as you could..

"Ouch.." he heard noya say behind him, as each of the team members appeared. Tanaka was feeling so bad right now.. he never knew... he was to busy.. wait ... he was TO BUSY TALKING TO KIYOKO.. thats gotta be why you haf been acting the way you were, it all clicked in his mind... you were jealous and it hurt him to know you were crying because of him... now.. he was crying.. the tough, delinquent of the school... crying..

"Im so dumb... how could i never have seen it." He muttered to himself but his teammates heard.

"We all knew, we were hoping you would pick up the hints and put them together..." they all looked really sad knowing one of their biggest supporters was now... gone...

" i have to go.." he said hurriedly and ran off to go find you.

*timeskip till he finds you* he found you behind the school, were nobody goes.. crying.. then you threw something in his direction, you not knowing he was there, he picked it up gently not making a sound, looking at the handmade crow feather keychain with his number 5 on there. You looked like you had put so much effort into it. He felt even worse, it was only gonna get worse after hearing what you said about yourself...

"Like he would like you, you piece of shit! You ugly fuck! Ug! Why did i even think for a second he was being serious.." you were sobbing heavily, but it came to a hault when you heard a thud, there when you turn your head, was ryu.. on his knees, tears running down his face...

"How could you say that about yourself.. i know this is my fault but.. you shouldnt think like that.." he sniffled but continhed after wiping his nose.
"I am so so sorry, you dont knkw how bad i feel right now... i should have been more observant...  i-i should have.. asked you seriously... you put so much effort into this keychain, and every hint you dropped at me.. it all makes sense now because i was oblivious.. and i know you felt hurt because i kept talking to kiyoko.. i am so so very sorry" he said as he gripped your keychain and bowed down so his head touched the floor... you just burst into more tears.. he started panicking

" w-was it something i said!" He yelled unconciously.

"No.. its what you didnt say.." he was confused when you said that..

" i wanna know if your serious... do you feel the same way?" You knew what the answer was afterall you-

"Yes. Yes i do. (Y/n) (l/n). I. Love. You." He said his face turning red but his posture remaining sure and serious. This made you unbearably happy, you didnt think you just leapt into his arms without thinking.

"I-i love you too!" You said sobbing, happy tears now replacing the old ones. You shook as he held you, him feeling something he never felt from anyone else but his family.. he felt safe.. loved unconditionally.. supported. He was now crying again, the same reason as you.

"I love you more" he said back to you, as you lift your head up to look at him after wiping your nose. He gently tucked a piece of hair behind your ear. And kissed your cheek ever so gently.

"I always will"
