Dom Cobb is a skilled thief, the absolute best in the dangerous art of extraction, stealing valuable secrets from deep within the subconscious during the dream state, when the mind is at its most vulnerable. Cobb's rare ability has made him a coveted player in this treacherous new world of corporate espionage, but it has also made him an international fugitive and cost him everything he has ever loved. Now Cobb is being offered a chance at redemption. One last job could give him his life back but only if he can accomplish the impossible, inception. Instead of the perfect heist, Cobb and his team of specialists have to pull off the reverse: their task is not to steal an idea, but to plant one. If they succeed, it could be the perfect crime. But no amount of careful planning or expertise can prepare the team for the dangerous enemy that seems to predict their every move. An enemy that only Cobb could have seen coming.

Initially, when I thought of Inception I thought about the main characters Cobb (Leonardo Dicaprio) and Mal (Marion Cotillard). Mal is Cobb's late wife, she died prior to the movie. Hence, she serves as a mental projection of his and is the main antagonist of the movie. Cobb is skilled in entering into people's subconscious minds to extract valuable information. Their interactions in the subconscious state are what set the tone of the movie. We learn that Cobb struggles with the guilt of Mal's death and the separation from his kids; he is a fugitive, wanted by the police for allegedly killing Mal. As Cobb delves deeper into the layers of the subconscious mind, we learn how inception affects people's reality. It is a thrilling movie, and if you haven't watched it already, I suggest you do.
Moreover, I also thought about the buildings and how they were manipulated in the dreams. Worldbuilding plays an important role in the dream state. Ariadne (Ellen Page) is the one in charge of designing the labyrinth of the dream landscapes, so I tried to incorporate images of buildings collapsing on each other in the first entry. In the second entry, I added the buildings in the head as mostly everything happens in there.
As you've probably noticed, I also included a totem in both pictures. Totems are an important symbol which plays a vital role in distinguishing between reality and fantasy. Cobb's totem, initially his wife's, is a spinning top which spins perpetually in the dream state.
I will say I'm pretty proud with my second attempt because it is simplistic, yet possesses that alluring quality that captivates a reader. I also like the dark theme because I think the colour scheme is very relevant to the movie. It is also more intricate. I believe it took me the longest to make out of the two. Also, I got the subtitle "The dream is real" from the actual movie poster.
That'll be all. Thanks for tuning in folks!
May we meet again.
~Tammy
