I'm a, huh-Girl.

Hermia
Mrs Parker didn't pick my calls so I had to drive back home.
My mind wandered back to that night I tried to matchmake Sally with that beast and then my car was damaged. I wondered why I felt it's Daniel who did it. After I recovered the car from the mechanic, I found a side of a Rolex watch under the seats. One that I didn't own. But I've seen it on his wrist. Anyway, I had no evidence to prove it just as now. I had no evidence to prove Sally's innocence.
After getting home, I was relieved mom was not around. She must've been working extra hours at office. Anyway, it's just three in the evening.
I locked the door behind me and went straight into the kitchen to make myself some snacks. I skipped lunch at school today.
I grabbed the dough mom must've made and I just cooked some noodles since there were limited food stuffs. I might still have to shop this weekend.
I settled in my room desk to eat and try find some things to do. I still needed to find a lawyer to defend Sally at the earnest.
I typed in the keyword Best Criminal Lawyers on Google immediately. Being a lawyer had been my ambition since I was a five year old. I wanted to root out the evil men in the society, someone like my father. The word father doesn't even suit him.
I rolled my eyes heavenwards waiting for google to bring my result. Poor Wi-Fi.
I glanced at the laptop once more and saw the results are out.
"Great. " I murmured, surfing through the names.
The number one on the list is Delilah Richards. The name sounded familiar and I wondered where I must've seen it.
My lips twitched into a frown as I leaned back into my seat. I thought If I could get this lawyer to defend Sally, wouldn't it be just great?
With a new wave of determination, I clicked on her profile. She charged 6000 dollars for a criminal case.
"What? That was too expensive! " I complained slamming my leg at the snacks box I kept under the table.
My noodles was long forgotten and I ate a strand, only to hate it. It's cold!
I stood up from my desk taking my laptop along. Okay, maybe I should really talk to this lawyer. I'll pay her anyhow. Maybe mom could help.
I dragged the cursor along the information about her.
32 year old. Canadian. Residing in 13 Mediterranean Street. Six times accorded 'Best Criminal Lawyer' . Won 60 cases, lost none. Relationship status: Divorcee. However, she's been seen many a times with famous business tycoon Ronny Grey.
"What? " my head snapped across the window directly across my room. "The Greys have a connection with her? "
I shook my head, trying to tell myself it's all rumours. It must be.
I went out of google and logged into my instagram account. I again searched for Delilah Richards.
Well, it was too good to be true. The picture of Ronny Grey in a blue shirt and the #NO 1 Criminal Lawyer was in the profile picture.

I figured it wasn't really bad if I met this Delilah Richards and here I was, at her doorstep. I had to drive 30 kilometres from my street just to meet her and I'm not even sure she'll be so interested to take up the case but I should at least try right?
Since it was the late October, I was prepared for the the cold atmosphere. I had to pull on a hoodie on my baggy top and jeans trousers. I had on boot shoes that were now covered in snow.
I knocked twice on her door after pressing the bell for God Knows since when and she wasn't opening up.
"Oh my! " I heard a yell and then the door swung open.
I stepped back immediately. For a reason unknown to me, the lawyer had soap covering all the inches of her face, her eyes tightly closed.
"Um, hi. Mrs Richards. "
"Wait-wait! I'm so sorry. I'll just get water to clean these. I thought it's the maid.
She slammed the door in my face in a jittery manner.
I paused to process what she just said. I guess she was taking a bath earlier.
Few minutes later, when I was already fed up of standing at the door, she opened the door wide enough to take double size of me.
"Oh my. " she said for the second time, gasping at me. "I'm so sorry. You look really pretty for a guy. "
I rolled my eyes dropping the hoodie off my head. "I'm a, huh— girl. " I reluctantly said.
Does anyone related to the Grey have this syndrome of mistaking me to be a guy?
"Oh right then. Pardon my manner. Come in! " she replied as if I just disappointed her.
I observed her wavy ginger colored hair was still wet as she turned around. Unlike earlier that she was dressed in a black robe, she was now wearing a very short spaghetti that revealed her curves. I walked in and closed the door behind me.
"Yes? Have a seat. " she asked when I was already taking a seat.
Maybe I should've waited for her to say it.
Her face read how mannerless but she was quick to put up a smile that I was smart enough to know is fake.
"Good evening ma'am. "
"Yeah. " she replied, her voice laced with something that sounded like pride. "You're here to solicit my help? " she flipped her hair to her back and adjusted her dress.
"Yeah. " I nodded, taking my phone out to show her a picture of Sally. "Here. " I pointed my phone to her.
She leaned in from the opposite chair before her eyes narrowed on Sally's picture.
"This girl. She killed her brother right?"
"Um, not really. It was an accident but she wasn't at fault. It's a conspiracy. "
"She's your friend? "
"Yeah. "
Her eyebrows raised immediately I said that. "Okay. I'm going to charge a 8000 dollars. "
"Ma'am. I read that you charge 6000 dollars for—"
"Well, sorry then. I'm not interested in fighting the case. " she stood up abruptly.
My mouth hung open before I quickly stood up. "Ma'am, I really need you to fight this case. You've won 60 cases and lost none. I'm sure you'll win this too. I'll work and pay you the fee later. Just please help me. "
"Sure. I'll help you. The same way you came in. " she said harshly.
My lips formed a thin line as I stared at her, not believing her. She's a heartless bitch!
My fists curled into punch before I marched out.
Well, some people just need a high five in the face. In the face. With a chair.
