Taming the Beast?

This is a one-shot for my story "Inuyasha: The Story Continues". This is about 5-year old Izyaoi. She is a total Daddy's girl and is always by Inuyasha's side. One day, Kikyo's spirit returns to Earth and uses a spell to turn Inuyasha into a full demon. However, Izyaoi doesn't know that. Can the little girl Tame the Beast that is in the form of her Father? Find out readers.

Little Izyaoi ran through out the village with delight written all over her pudgy little face. She was giggling and squealing as she passed by villagers and other children. Izyaoi then jumped on top of hut and looked out at the sunset. "Wow." she said with amazement.

"Izzy, time for dinner." Kagome called out, using Izyaoi's nickname.

The little girl smiled and made her way down from the roof and towards her home that was in the middle of the village. Her brownish-gold eyes were focuesed on the dirt road in front of her and her little feet were right against the ground. Izzy's black hair- and white tips of hair- whipped by her face as she continued to run.

Right when she was about to run through the door, someone pick the little toddler up. Izyaoi giggled like crazy as soon as she realized who it was. "And just what do we have here?" Inuyasha asked playfully as he looked at his giggling daughter. "It seems a little demon has decided to come."

"Daddy," Izyaoi giggled. "I'm not a demon."

Inuyasha chuckled. "I know that," Inuyasha told her.

"Inuyasha, Izzy come eat your food or I'll eat it all." Kagome warned.

"Hurry Daddy. I don't want Mommy to eat everything."

Later that night, as Izyaoi laid in bed, Kagome was telling her a bedtime story to get the child to fall asleep.

Izyaoi's eyes kept closing slowly and then snapping open. Soon, the little 5-year old was snoring. Kagome leaned over and gave Izyaoi a small kiss on the cheek and then went to bed. Inuyasha followed Kagome into their room. Just when the two were about to get some rest of their own, a demonic aura arose and made Kagome sit up from her spot next to her husband.

"Inuyasha, do you feel that?" Kagome asked.

"Yeah," Inuyasha answered as he grabbed Tessiga. "It's a powerful demonic aura, and it's coming from beyond the forest."

The two adults quickly made their way outside the hut, leaving their 5-year old daughter to sleep soundly inside.

As they kept running through the forest, Inuyasha could tell that something was defiantly wrong. The demonic aura had suddenly disappeared. He came to a hault and Kagome stopped by his side. Inuyasha was slowly reaching for Tessiga that hung at his side but he never got the chance to pull it from its sheath.

A demonic blast hit Inuyasha directly and caused him to hit a tree. "Inuyasha!" Kagome yelled as she went to his side.

Pain coursed through out Inuyasha's body but he said "I'm okay." As he tried to get up though, Inuyasha found it hard to sit up from his spot on the ground.

An evil cackle filled the air. It belonged to a woman.

"Well, well, it seems that my little trick has worked." A familiar female voice said from the shadows. Inuyasha turned to look to his right side to see a woman stepping out from the shadows. Inuyasha and Kagome both gasped at who they saw.

"K-kikyo?" Inuyasha asked.

Kikyo smirked. "Inuyasha, you remember me." she spoke.

"B-but how are you here?" Kagome asked. "We saw your soul move on."

Kikyo laughed. "That was just a deversion so that way I could get time to rest. Now I'm back and I'm here for you Inuyasha."

Inuyasha had conflicting feelings going on inside him. This was the first woman he ever loved, yet he knew that his heart could no longer love her. He wouldn't leave Kagome and his child for Kikyo, never. "Kikyo," Inuyasha began. "I loved you once before, but Kagome is my wife and I will be by her side."

"Unfortunately Inuyasha, you don't have a choice." Kikyo told him.

She squeezed a small item that was hidden behind her back and that led to Inuyasha doubling over in pain. "Inuyasha, what's wrong?!" Kagome asked with concern.

Beads of sweat kept rolling down Inuyasha's face as he felt excruciating pain course through his body. It feels like I'm being torn apart. Inuyasha thought.

"What're you doing to him?!" Kagome asked with rage.

Kikyo chuckled evilly. "I'm releasing the demon that lays dormant in his heart," she explained. "Once he kills you, Inuyasha shall be mine."

Kagome looked over at Inuyasha and saw that he was losing the fight with his demon blood. Already, his nails and fangs grew larger than normal, purple marks appeared on his cheeks, and Inuyasha's eyes were slowly changing from gold to blue. "Inuyasha, fight it!" Kagome told him.

"I'm..trying," Inuyasha struggled to say. His voice had become raspy. "Kagome....get away from me, now."

"I won't leave you Inuyasha!" Kagome told him. Tears rushed down her cheeks as she held tightly to Inuyasha. It didn't stop his transformation though.

Finally, it seemed that Inuyasha had lost to the demon and now demon Inuyasha was in control. Kagome backed away slowly, knowing all too well what this side of Inuyasha was capable of. However, she stepped on a stick and Inuyasha turned to looked at Kagome. Kagome froze in place. She knew there was no point in running since the demon Inuyasha could easily catch her and there was no way that she could dare fire an arrow at him either.

Kagome could see Kikyo smirking from the corner of her eye. Just when it looked like Inuyasha was about to go in for the kill, he turned his head to look in the direction that he and Kagome had come from. He stared that way until a strange, yet familiar scent filled his nose. Inuyasha then ran in that direction, leaving the two priestesses to watch in confusion.

Where's he going? Kagome thought. Why would he be..... It soon sank in; Inuyasha was heading towards the village.

Izyaoi got up and sat by the fire pit. She hated it when her parents went out at night to deal with demons, it made her edgy. After they had left, she went to the main room in the hut and started a fire. Izyaoi held her blanket close to her body as she waited, and waited, and waited, and waited. Soon she found herself sleepish again.

"Maybe I can rest for a little while," Izyaoi told herself as she laid on the floor with the blanket wrapped around her body. "Mommy and Daddy will be home soon." The little girl soon was fast asleep with the blanket and a fire warming her.

Meanwhile, coming through the village, Inuyasha kept running and running until he came to a stop in front of a hut. He slowly walked inside and found a roaring fire blazing in the middle of the room. Inuyasha did not let the flames bother him as he walked around them. On the other side of the fire laid a small bundle in a blanket. It snored lightly and facinated the demon.

The demon carefully went up to the bundle and sniffed it. The scent of a half-demon came into the senses immediately. Inuyasha went towards the sleeping child and sniffed it in the face, making her giggle in her sleep. "That tickles." she muttered quietly.

Inuyasha poked it lightly and was surprised when the child didn't wake-up. Unsure what he was doing, Inuyasha picked up the child and cradled it in his arms. That's when the little girl's eyes fluttered open a bit. She looked up at Inuyasha with her beautiful amber-brown eyes. She smiled and then whispered before falling  back asleep, "Hi Daddy."

When he was sure the little girl was securely in his arms, Inuyasha ran out the hut and left the village in the dust. Moments later, Kagome came running into the village. She was glad to see that there was no blood or bodies anywhere. The young priestess then ran to her own home and found the roaring fire there. Kagome searched through the hut and found it empty. "Inuyasha! Izyaoi!" Kagome called for. "Where are you?!"

*****************************

The light of the morning Sun hit Izyaoi in the face with only a little bit of force. The little 5-year old yawned and stretched from her spot on the floor of the cave to see the beautiful meadow outside.....wait a minute, somethings not right here.

"Why am I in a cave?" Izyaoi asked.

She walked outside and looked at the beautiful meadow with a river running right through it. Maybe I'm dreaming? Izyaoi thought as she continued to look at the scenic scenery.

As she continued to scope out the scene, the little girl was unaware of the pair of demonic eyes that were watching her every move from the shadows.

"Maybe Mommy and Daddy are here," Izyaoi told herself. "Maybe they're just looking for wood or something."

Suddenly, a rustling startled her. Izyaoi turned to see a snake demon appear from the shadows. It hissed at Izyaoi and made her frightened. "What luck," the snake hissed as it slithered closer to Izyaoi. "A little ssssnack hassss come acrossssss my path."

"L-l-leave me alone." Izyaoi stuttered as she kept backing away from the snake.

"Time to feassssst." The snake lunged at Izyaoi, but she stumbled back and fell right into the river, causing her to flow down stream.

"Help me!" she cried out before her head went under water.

The snake would've gone after her to finish her off but it was sliced into pieces before it could do anything.

Meanwhile, the little girl still was flowing down stream, having her head bob up to grab a gulp of air, and then pulled back down again. That's when Izyaoi saw a log and grabbed onto it. However, as she did, the 5-year old noticed a waterfall up ahead. She did the only thing she knew to do, she yelled "Daddy!"

Just before she was about to be swept over the waterfall, a mysterious figure ran and caught her as the log went over the fall. The figure held her tightly as she held tightly to him. She was shaking with fear and looked ready to cry. Izyaoi soon realized that she was safe. "T-that was so scary." Izyaoi said. She then looked up at the person who had saved her. "Daddy!"

That's right, Inuyasha had saved her! However, Izyaoi thought something was different about him. "Daddy, why does your face look different?" she asked. Izyaoi was referring to the purple markings on his face, the longer fangs, and the strange red eyes with blue irises.

Inuyasha didn't respond as he held tightly to Izyaoi and then started running back to the cave.

***********************

"Izyaoi was kidnapped by Inuyasha?!" Sango spouted after Kagome finished her story.

"Yes," Kagome answered with a nod. "I need your help."

Miroku pondered over the matter. "It's quite strange," he spoke. "Why would the demon in Inuyasha take her? Does he plan to harm Izyaoi?"

"That is not the case," a new  voice said. The three adults looked to see the old flea, Myoga, on Kagome's shoulder.

"Myoga? When did you get here?" Kagome asked.

"That is not important right now Kagome," Myoga said. "Right now we have a very important matter to deal with. You see, Master Inuyasha will not harm Izyaoi. In fact, he plans to protect her."

"Protect her?" Sango questioned. "How do you know that?"

"You see, dog demons are very protective over their pups. This is no different for Master Inuyasha. He must've sensed some form of danger in the air and realized that his pup needed him."

"But what could that danger be?" Miroku asked.

"Kikyo," Kagome said. "It has to be because of Kikyo."

"We must find them then," Myoga said. "If I know anything about Kikyo, she could cause great harm to both Master Inuyasha and Izyaoi."

The three adults nodded in agreement. Kagome then got on top of Kilala, who started flying through the air. Kilala started flying towards the west towards the one person who was closest to Inuyasha in blood; his older brother Sesshomaru.

At the cave, Inuyasha watched Izyaoi play in the field. She ran, jumped, and rolled around in the grass, something any toddler would've done. After playing for a little while, Izyaoi went over to Inuyasha and sat in his lap. Inuyasha did not mind the little girl as she sat there with him.

"That was fun," Izyaoi huffed with breathlessness. "But Daddy, how come Mommy's not here?"

Inuyasha didn't answer her. He just kept watching the scene, as if he were expecting someone to jump out at any moment and attack. Izyaoi leaned up against Inuyasha and listened to his even breathing and tried to ignore the fact that her Father wasn't paying attention to her. Soon though, Inuyasha had an arm wrapped around the little girl. Izyaoi looked up at Inuyasha and then he looked down at her. She smiled at him.

"Love you Daddy." she said as she rested right against him.

"Love you too." Inuyasha whispered in a raspy voice.

*************************

"Please say you'll help Sesshomaru." Kagome begged.

The older brother of Inuyasha looked at Kagome and said nothing, as usual. Finally, he nodded. "All right," he said. "If Izyaoi is in danger, I shall help."

Kagome hugged her brother in law tightly- catching him completely off guard. "Thank you so much Sesshomaru!" she said.

*************************

Izyaoi sat in the hot springs with Inuyasha and cleaned her face off, like she was always taught to. As she cleaned herself, she swam under the water and then popped up right in front of Inuyasha, making him jump up in the process. Izyaoi laughed and Inuyasha growled slightly.

"I got you Daddy!" Izyaoi laughed.

After Izyaoi was clean, she and Inuyasha got dressed and then went back to the cave. There, the fish that had been roasting over the fire, was ready to eat. Izyaoi and Inuyasha both ate to their hearts content the several fish that had been caught that day. What the two didn't see though, was the woman watching them from the shadows.

*************************

"This way!" Sango told the others that were running on the ground.

Kagome had aquired the help of Sesshomaru, Shippo, Miroku, Sango, and even Koga to help in finding Izyaoi and Inuyasha. "So mutt-face turned into a demon huh?" Koga joked. "Figures."

"Knock it off Koga," Shippo told him. "Inuyasha could hurt Izyaoi!"

"Shippo, don't think like that." Kagome said.

***************************

Once the food was gone, Izyaoi got into Inuyasha's lap again and relaxed. However, Inuyasha became on edge when he sensed something. He started to growl and that got Izyaoi attention. "Daddy, what's wrong?" she asked.

"Stay here." he told her as he placced her on the ground and then went out to face the threat that was there.

"It's great to see you again Inuyasha." Kikyo said as she walked out of the shadows.

Inuyasha growled even more. The demon side of him hated Kikyo because she wanted the demon side to be gone just so she could've lived a normal life. Izyaoi looked at the woman with curiosity and wondered why she looked a lot like her Mother.

"You won't hurt me Inuyasha." Kikyo said with a smirk. That's when she squeezed the item in her hands and Inuyasha fell over in pain.

"Daddy!" Izyaoi said as she runned out from the cave.

Kikyo was shocked to see the little girl. This must be Inuyasha's child, Kikyo thought. Then a smirk formed on her face. Instead of Kagome dying first, I think the child shall go first.

"Inuyasha, kill the little girl first." Kikyo demanded.

As Inuyasha sat up, he looked at Izyaoi with eyes full of hatred. "Daddy?" Izyaoi asked with nervousness.

For a moment, Inuyasha wanted to tear her apart, but then he remembered how the little girl had been. She had been kind to him, played around him, and said she had loved him. "I love you Daddy." Those words repeated over and over again inside his head.

Inuyasha's face soon softened and he growled at Kikyo as he placed a hand in front of Izyaoi. "Stay back Kikyo," Inuyasha growled. "You won't touch a hair on Izyaoi's head!"

Kikyo growled. She was about to use the item again, but something came rushing by and knocked it out of her hands. Sesshomaru then went up and crushed it with his foot. Kikyo growled with anger at this interference with her plans. "Why you-" she began but then stopped.

"It's over Kikyo." Kagome said as she and the others surrounded her.

Before anyone could do anything, Kikyo disappeared in a cloud of smoke.

"Kagome, look." Shippo said.

Kagome turned to see Inuyasha, who was still a full demon, standing in front of her daughter. Izyaoi smiled when she saw her Mother for the first time in days. "Mommy!" Izyaoi said with excitement with a smile on her face.

Inuyasha let out a low growl. "Did I forget to mention that dog demons will not hesitate to protect their young?" Myoga said.

"Now you say something." Shippo muttered.

Slowly, Kagome walked towards Inuyasha. "Inuyasha," Kagome spoke. "Please, come back."

Izyaoi looked at her Mother and then at her Father. Why had her Mother said that? "Daddy?" Izyaoi asked as she looked at him. "What's Mommy talking about?"

Inuyasha looked down at her and a voice inside him told him to listen to Kagome. He looked from Izyaoi to Kagome. The demon knew what he had to do. He couldn't take care of the child forever. She needed a Mother to take care of her. She needed to live in a village, not in a cave. He knew that he had to do what was best for the child.

I shall allow the half-demon to come back, he thought as he looked down at Izyaoi. For her sake.

Inuyasha's irises went from blue to gold. "Izyaoi?" he asked in his normal voice. Then the purple stripes disappeared from his face, his fangs shrunk, his eyes were no longer red, and his claws were normal once more. "Izyaoi." Inuyasha held her tightly, fearing that if he let her go, she would be gone.

"Hi Daddy." Izyaoi said wit a smile. "Um Daddy, why are you hugging me so tight?"

Kagome had tears in her eyes as she went and held her husband and daughter in a tight embrace.

Everyone watched the scene in silence, and in awe. A little 5-year old had just tamed a beast no one thought could be tamed.
