(Y/N'S P.O.V.)
The rays of the mid-morning sun target my eyes behind closed lids as they peek through the translucent fabric curtains hung upon my window. I groan softly as I instinctively push my arm in front of my face to block the light. Blinking several times, I let out a yawn and swing my legs to help me sit upright.
*It feels like you have been here before.
"Deja vu..." I murmur, rubbing my tired eyes. "Strange." I raise my arms above my head and stretch them out, sighing after a few moments as I let them go limp.
The comforting smell of bacon and eggs wafts from the kitchen and into my nose. I inhale deeply, taking in the faint (but noticeable) smell of breakfast. Standing up on wobbly legs, I trudge from my room and down the stairs. The cold wooden steps creak as I hurry downstairs, as if it pains them to feel my weight. I curse the old things under my breath.
A plate of breakfast and a glass of orange juice sits on the coffee table, a note lays neatly beside the two. I pick up the delicate piece of paper, carefully unfolding it (as to not accidentally fold any wrinkles into it).
Dear Y/N,
I hope you enjoy the delicious breakfast I, The Magnificent Sans, prepared for you! I made your favorite: Eggs and bacon! I had to leave on urgent Royal Guard training early this morning, so I won't be here when you wake up. Papyrus will be home at four, as usual!
Well, I hope you enjoy your day! Call me if needed.
~ Sans
I smile upon his handwriting, the bright blue colour of his pen popping out of the paper. A pretty colour, to be sure. I pick up the fork next to the plate and begin to eat.

I gently swipe my hand across the plate, brushing away all of the food residue stuck to it. Setting it in the sink, I sigh and pull my phone out of my pocket.
No new notifications.
As usual.
Sighing, I pocket the device once more and walk into the livingroom, heading towards the stairs. I make my way to my room with a random tune on my lips, feeling unusually refreshed and energetic, like the slate has been wiped clean.
Shrugging off the unusual good feelings, I walk over to my closet and pick out a white crop-top and some pastel F/C shorts to wear while I go outside. Turning to my mirror, I examine my looks. Strangely enough, my normally messy and tangled H/C locks are silky and perfect, like they were just brushed. My skin is smooth and clear of any unwanted blemishes.
I look...
...Nice...
I decide against brushing my hair or putting anything on, instead walking downstairs and towards the front door. Slipping on my black flip-flops, I grab my house keys and walk outside. I place the keychain around my neck and walk over to my bike. I swiftly place my leg over the seat and pedal off, my H/C hair blowing effortlessly in the wind.
The field is a nice option, I decide, taking a turn to my left. I can hang there until Papyrus comes home. Biking past a playground, I quickly stop to look at the cute little children playing in the sand, a human father and a monster father carefully watching their kids as they have a little chat. I find myself smiling at the community, and how far we've come from the war.
With a soft chuckle, I begin to ride again, waving at the parents as I make my way up the trail to the field. I plant my feet firmly on the dirt path, stopping my bike in it's tracks as I near a tree. Propping the bike against the sturdy base of the tree, I take out my phone and sit on the grass against a smooth rock, playing quiet music as I look at the scenery around me.
A small beige spot sits I the distance, drawing my attention. I tap my phone to shut off my music, standing up and brushing off my clothes before going to investigate. As I near the object, I notice how it seems to look just like a person. Walking closer still, the grass rustle beneath my feet as I make out the scarf they're wearing, and a large object beside them.
I'm right behind the figure now, and I can tell it's a male skeleton. He seems familiar somehow, in the way his scarf gently flutters in the breeze. A giant paintbrush lays on the ground beside him.
"Hello," I hum quietly, tilting my head. The skeleton flinches in surprise and turns to me, his mismatched eyes locking onto mine. He seems to recognize me.
"Y--Er," He starts, clearing his throat. "H-Hi!" He waves.
"Where'd you get your scarf?" I ask, smiling.
"This? Oh, I've had it for years," He laughs, rubbing the back of his neck nervously."Uhm... What's your name?"
"I'm Y/N," I chirp, sitting beside him. "And you?"
"I-Ink," He smiles. "Ink Sans. It's nice to meet you, Y/N." He holds out his hand.
I take his hand in mine and shake it, saying,
"It's nice to meet you too, Ink!"
*Life begins again.
