The air is damp and humid, the ethereal smell of forests filling my nose. I open my eyes to a blue and green filled place, like an underground cave of sorts. The walls are a dark blue, while the grass beneath our feet is a dark teal colour. The walls and rocks around us sparkle with sky blue spots, and almost everything is covered in moss. Shimmering crystals hang from the ceiling. The faint sound of rushing water bubbles in the background.

"Woah... what is this place?" I ask.

"It's called Waterfall," Ink smiles. "I love creating this place in all universes."

Universes...

A soft voice echoes throughout the land.

"What was that?"

What was that?

That...

That...

The voice repeats my words. I turn my head in the direction of the noise. Nothing is here except for a small turquoise flower with blue specks floating around it's petals.

"What a pretty flower..." I smile, bending down.

What a pretty flower!

The plant chirps in response, startling me. I gasp and stumble back a bit, the flower gasping, too. It's petals glow light blue when it echoes words, almost as if it were talking for itself.

"That's an echo flower." Ink explains quietly. It repeats you."

That's an echo flower, it repeats you...

The flower whispers in a slightly softer version of Ink's voice. I smile at the flower before standing up and moving with the rest of the group. We slink along the dark corners of the caves, listening to the faint echoes of voices in the distance. The voices become louder, and soon enough, we're at our destination.

"I ca-can't wait-t to d-destroy-oy this pitiful w-worl-orld." Error stutters, sitting up in a canopy of blue strings.

Pitiful world...

World...

The echo flowers repeat quietly.

"Ug-gh..." Error growls, stretching out his hand. "Th-these flow-flowers are-e a w-waste-e." He balls his hand into a fist with a grin, watching as the thousands of vibrant echo flowers around him droop over and wilt, their forms wrinkling and slowly turning grey. The blooms wither and shrivel away, soon becoming nothing but dust. I cover my mouth in horror, tears springing to my eyes as the last of the echo flowers' light dies away, leaving nothing but the luminous glow of the crystals above.

Ink places his hand on my shoulder and looks at me sadly. "It's okay." He whispers.

"Save the destroying for later, Error." Nightmare growls, shooting a glare at the glitch. Error only rolls his eyes and lets his hand dangle from the side of the string canopy.

"Blue and I will take Error," Ink murmurs. "Y/N and Dream, take Nightmare. If anything goss wrong, tell me." We all nod, and Ink runs away with Sans to take our Error.

"Distract him," Dream says, "I'll take him from behind, attack as much as you can." I nod in agreement and run out into the open, slamming into Nightmare at full force with my shoulder. He stumbles backwards, giving Dream time to shoot him with arrows of blue. The black skeleton roars in anger and frustration, launching a barrage of sharp objects towards Dream. The golden skeleton dodges all of them, shooting arrows at an alarming rate. While Nightmare is turned away, I grab my paintbrush from the pocket of Ink's jacket and swipe it in the air, the paint dancing around before materializing into a small knife.

With a growl, I barrel towards the distracted Nightmare with rage, jabbing the knife into his shoulder with all of my might. He roars in pain and uses a tentacle to smack me away, holding his wounded arm and breathing heavily. I hit the ground and roll a bit before coming to a complete stop.

I push myself to my hands and knees and stand again, tightly gripping the knife's hilt. My breath trembles as the dizziness subsides, allowing me the strength to fight again.

"T-Time for th-the filthy-y glitc-ch t-to co-come wit-th us." Error sputters.

A horrified gasp escapes my mouth as I watch Sans struggle against the wires he's entangled in, fear written on his face. Ink lays nearby, motionless, his brush on the floor beside him.

"Let him go!" I scream, running over to the two.

"Not-not a chan-chance. B-By-Bye-Bye!" He giggles, dissapearing through a portal (and taking Sans with him).

"No!" I scream, falling to my knees. I look over at the painter, tears falling down my cheeks. I shake my friend roughly, trying my best to wake him up. "Ink, please, wake up!" I sob, shaking him again.

Dream walks close and sits beside me, looking down at Ink.

The painter slowly opens his eyes. Leaping forwards, I wrap my arms around him, sobbing into his scarf. "They took Sans!" I cry in dismay. "They're gonna hurt Sans!"

Ink hugs me close. "We'll get him back. We won't let this happen," He whispers comfortingly. "It's gonna be okay."

"I promise."

With a slight gasp, I close my eyes, passing into a realm of instant, pitch-black sleep.

When I'm able to open my eyes again, I find myself in the guest bedroom, at the house again. I push myself onto my knees and sniffle, my eyes burning with past tears. I gently remove the blankets from my body and stand up, my weakened legs swaying with the sudden pressure placed upon them. Upon regaining my balance, I slowly make my way into the hallway. It's dark in the house, so I'm assuming everyone is asleep.

I walk down the hallway and peek into Ink's room. The painter lies on his bed, a pencil in hand. He's fast asleep. With a slight smile, I quietly walk over to him and sit on the bed, crawling beside him and curling up. I rest my head against his chest and sigh, his warmth surrounding me and lulling me back to sleep.

There's no doubting my feelings... I reflect silently as the safe, warm darkness of sleep closes around my vision.

...I think I've taken a liking to Ink...
