34. rooftop...again
The end of college was nearing, soon, everyone would be off to do their own thing, and it seemed like everyone was finally happy. But....there was one thing that had not died down yet, and that was Jimin's, Jin's and Irene's anger they had for Taehyung. In fact, they didn't want to budge at all. But at the moment, the five were talking it out. And it didn't seem to go very well, and it seemed very biased, three friends against one Taehyung.
" I'm just saying Taehyung, I don't care if Jungkook forgave you weeks ago. I am still tempted to swing your head like a baseball bat. " Jimin hissed. Jin crossed his arms, glaring at the silver haired boy, " yeah, I mean, I don't mind smacking you with a boiling hot frying pan. " Irene nodded shoving at Taehyung's chest, which made Jungkook drag her away from him. "I don't mind kicking you so hard in your balls that they turn into your tonsils. Bitch. "
Taehyung scoffed, " Jungkook made us all meet up so that I can explain myself, but I'm not even getting a word out. " He snapped glaring at the three of them, his eyes turning soft at Jungkook's small face.
" Guys...can you just listen to Taehyung? " Jimin huffed and then nodded slowly.
Taehyung took a deep breath, " I.....i don't know where to start. I had my heartbroken once...and I didn't want that to happen again. I know that I hurt Jungkook, but...in the process I also hurt myself....but that was only so I know for sure that my heart doesn't get broken in the future. "
Jin sighed, " I understand what you're going through, but you know that Jungkook isn't like that. You've known Jungkook for a few months now, you should've trusted him, talked to him. " He said reasonably.
" Yeah... but I knew Elle for three years yet she still broke my heart. When you get cheated on, it's like you're not good enough. You put your all into someone and they just have to remind you that you're not good enough by cheating on you. By opening up I left myself so vulnerable, and now I can't even bring my walls down. " Taehyung took Jungkook's hand in his and smiled, " but I'm so happy that I was able to do so with Jungkook. Really. "
" I guess I can understand both of you guys' sides. I mean, not going to lie, it's confusing as fuck, but the fact that you both found your way back to each other just proves that your feelings for each other a very real. " Irene said.
" With graduation coming soon - basically next week - we just want to clear everything up. It's been one hell of a year, but I'm just glad that we're all here, and we're all happy as can be. I don't know what's going to happen in the future, and I know that things are definitely going to change. But all I can do right now is cherish the moments that we spend together right now. " Jungkook said with the softest smile ever, giving Taehyung's hand a squeeze.
Jimin looked up, " I'm sorry Taehyung. I wanted to protect little Jungkook but I never even considered your side of the story. And just like Irene said, this whole thing is confusing, but no love story is perfect. And the fact that you guys had so many moments where it was annoying, cute and perfect makes it a perfect story. Well, perfect for all of us. "
Taehyung smiled at Jimin. " Thanks Jimin. "
" Guys...we should do something fun. " Irene suggested, looking up from her phone. " Fun? Like what? "
" Maybe we should go to the movies? "
Jimin scoffed, " Jin you are so boring. Movies is what people go to when they don't have nothing else to do. We should go have dinner tonight. "
" Gag. The last dinner I had was with my parents when they tried getting me married to a man because they found out I was bisexual. " Irene laughed.
Taehyung quickly texted someone, and then looked back up. " I think we should go to the beach. One of my friends are throwing a bonfire party anyways. " He said, scanning everyone's faces with his deep grey eyes.
Jungkook shrugged, " I mean I don't mind. Plus we should start an early celebration. "
The others agreed, and started some more. However Jungkook's hearing faded out, and all he could focus on was the warm, big hand on his thigh. He looked towards Taehyung, who smiled gently to Jungkook, winking at him.
Jungkook smiled, and grabbed Taehyung's hand, interlocking his own, with Taehyung's. He shuffled closer to Taehyung, and softly placed his head on Taehyung's shoulder, letting a soft sigh of relief leave his small lips.
Taehyung looked down at the soft tufts of Jungkook's brown hair poking up and smiled gratefully. Taehyung was grateful for everything that had happened in his life, to lead up to this moment, where there were many people around him, but all he could feel was the touch of Jungkook and see Jungkook.
Jungkook looked down at Taehyung's big hand clasping his own, and he could physically feel his eyes twinkling in happiness. After everything, he finally felt as if he could have his happily ever after, well it's not a typical ever after, but it's Jungkook's way of a happy end, and he didn't really need anything else in his life, other than Taehyung, his friends, his cats and his own happiness.
Maybe this was the end.
Jungkook knew that he didn't really need anything else, he was very happy with all of the things he had. Taehyung brought all the things he felt as if he missed out on. Taehyung was the missing puzzle piece Jungkook needed, and now Jungkook was complete.
••••••
It was nearing the end of the school day. Which meant that kids were bustling about on the streets, shops were filled with kids buying food and shouting incoherent slang words to and fro each other, play fighting.
Taehyung and Jungkook walked hand in hand, to the sleek, black mustang that was parked on the curb, standing out from all of the other cars, parked up. All the seven seater vans, normal cars, average mom cars. But there was Taehyung's car.
Taehyung opened the door for Jungkook, to which Jungkook smiled and got in, staring at the cream leather interior. His life truly felt like a movie. And for once, he truly felt like he was happy, genuinely.
Jungkook smiled to himself, as he watched his silver haired man, run his hands through his hair, and jog over to the other side, getting in. Damn, Jungkook thought to himself.
Taehyung started driving. For a while, the two spoke no words. The silence seemed to bring the two at peace, rather than an awkward feeling. They were that comfortable with each other. But when Taehyung passed the turn he was supposed to take to get to Jungkook's apartment, the brown haired boy spoke up, " Taehyung? Where are we going? " Jungkook said, looking towards Taehyung.
Taehyung just smiled, and spoke with his deep voice, " somewhere special. "
Jungkook chuckled, " you have a lot of special places. " Jungkook put some music on, putting it on low, so that it was just sounded like a quiet hum in the background.
Taehyung looked over to Jungkook and laughed before turning back to focus on driving, " you're right, I do have a lot of special places. But, you want to know my favourite special place?" Taehyung looked over once again to catch Jungkook giving a quick nod, Taehyung continued, " my favorite special place is when I'm with you. "
Jungkook rolled his eyes at the cliche comment from the comment and laughed, nevertheless, the blush was still evident on his pale cheeks.
When the car stopped, Jungkook looked out of the window to see a building in construction. He looked back at Taehyung with big doe eyes, " this, is your special place? " Jungkook asked confused as ever. Taehyung shook his head and chuckled. He got out of the car and motioned for Jungkook to do the same.
Taehyung grabbed Jungkook's hand, and pulled him along. The two weaved their way through the building, until they reached a set of metal stairs. Taehyung and Jungkook slowly padded their way up the stairs, Jungkook's nerves growing, as he didn't want to get into trouble. After a while, the two reached a grey metal door. Taehyung pushed the door open, and looked back at Jungkook with the most brightest smile ever, before he walked forward, his hand still in Jungkook's.
They were on the roof.
Jungkook let out a gasp. It was utterly beautiful.
The view over looked the city, and the people looked like ants. Bustling around, rushing to get home, or rushing to get to work, or whatever they were doing at the time of sunset. There was a warm orange glow, making the buildings look dark blue, the windows becoming brighter with the artificial light. Jungkook could see everything, and it was beautiful.
Jungkook heard Taehyung sit down, and so he did the same.
" My favorite part...is watching the sun go down. " Taehyung began. Jungkook reached for Taehyung's warm hand, when the cold air passed by him, and he let his head fall on Taehyung's shoulder. Taehyung squeezed Jungkook's hand, " I love watching the sun slowly go down, leaving the day. It's the most beautiful part of the day. And that's purely because of the peace the sun gives off when it's setting. Many people come home at this time, to relax, be with their loved ones. And I think that's what the sun does too. It goes home, relaxes over the night....and in the end, comes back in a new day. " Jungkook lifted his head to look back at Taehyung.
The sun emitted a soft glow, and just like the city, Taehyung became even more beautiful. His tan skin mixing with the golden glow. His grey eyes, now becoming almost clear in the reflection of the lamp in the sky. Taehyung looked back at Jungkook, smiling, before looking back at the city.
Jungkook cupped Taehyung's jaw, pulling the silver haired boy forward. He stared at this beautiful boy for a second or two, before pushing himself forward. Gently kissing Taehyung.
Jungkook squeezed Taehyung's hand, and tilted his head, giving Taehyung more access. Taehyung gripped Jungkook's waist with his other hand, and pulled the smaller boy onto his lap, gently caressing his tiny waist with his own hands.
Jungkook felt Taehyung's big hands grip his waist, almost massaging them in a caress, and Jungkook sighed into the kiss.
Taehyung pulled away, and looked up to the brown haired boy that had their small arms wrapped around his neck loosely. " What was that for? "
" I don't know. " Jungkook replied breathlessly, before returning to his original seat, which was directly next to Taehyung.
The two boys sat, watching the sun set, but Jungkook couldn't help but think, was this truly the end of their chapter?
