It's been about a week since the incident. John's been in the hospital since then. He's in stable condition. I've been with him everyday but I don't know if I can be anymore. School starts back soon and I have to be there. But I also have to be here with him. But the doctors say he'll get to go home soon.

I look down at my phone to see a text from Eliza.

"Alexander, are you alright?"

"Huh? Of course I'm fine, Jack. Why don't you try to get some sleep?"

"But I'm not tired," he says with a yawn.

I smile. "Yes you are." I kiss his cheek.

I check the text from Eliza.

Lizzy: Hey Alex 💙

Hammy: Hey Liza

Lizzy: how's Laurens?

Hammy: he's asleep rn but but he's okay

Lizzy: want me to come see you?

Hammy: sure ig

Lizzy: k I'll be there soon 😘

I put my phone in my pocket and get a piece of paper and a pencil.
Went to go meet Eliza. Love you

I leave the note on the table by his bed and go out into the hallway and wait for her. About five minutes later I see her coming down the hall.

"Hey Liza."

"Hey Alexander!" she says kissing me quickly.

"Liza, we're not together anymore."

She shrugs. "I've missed you, Alexander."

"Yeah but you're with André now."

"And?"

"And you're cheating on him if you're kissing me."

She sighs. "You're no fun."

"And I would be cheating on John."

She rolls her eyes and pulls me outside to her car. "Get in."

"I agreed to see you, not to go anywhere."

"Just get in the damn car."

I get in the passenger seat of the car and we drive to her house.

"Eliza what-"

She cuts me off. "Shh. It's just us here. Everybody's gone." She gets out of the car and I follow her inside.

When I come inside she pulls me upstairs to her room. She closes the door and locks it and pins me up against the wall.

"Listen Eliza, we can't do this."

She kisses me roughly. "Yes we can."

She kisses me again and I kiss back. I'm such a terrible boyfriend. John can never find out this.
