Police had literally poured in at the Sharma Residence. Them being a rich family and Veer having political connection made this a high profile case. There were investigators everywhere. They were recording statements of every one at sight. Veer was handling everything while Bani sat in the hall. He knew that the past that had come to light today will take time to sink in.

'I am not her mother'

Bani had no more tears left in her. But she felt betrayed and sad. The woman she had considered to be her mother was actually not her mother.

Flashback

Bani was staring at Ranjana. She was shocked and sad. What did she mean she is not her mother? Who was it then? Was she alive? So many questions were running in her mind. She shook Ranjana by her shoulders and begged her to speak the whole truth now.

That is when Ranjana told her everything.

R: Your father was married before me. You are the daughter of his first wife. Your mother died in childbirth so your grandparents thought of giving you a new mom since you were just an infant. I was from a very poor family and saw this as an opportunity to a higher lifestyle. At first I was very happy but then I started to miss love. When you were one, I ran into my ex from college and we had an affair. Your father was already depressed because of his wife's death and I am sure he accidently over dosed that night. It had nothing to do with me but you grandfather blamed me.

Yes, I cheated but that is not why he killed himself. Then I had Naina but my second husband died in a car crash. It was difficult but I knew I could not let go of your primary custody as your grandfather paid me your maintenance money which was more than enough for us three. But I knew once you get married and go away, that would stop. So I had to do something!!!

V: Wow! You really justify plotting to kill someone innocent? So what if she is not your biological daughter? You raised her! Kabhi feelings nahi aayi? Above all, she is an innocent!! How can you...you disgust me!!

Flashback ends

Veer was furious but Bani could not digest that the woman she saw as her mother was not her mother. The police came and started to investigate.

Veer saw Bani and realized she was in shock. He kept a hand on her shoulders for comfort. Jai felt an unknown emotion rush through him seeing them like this.

J: (in mind: Ye tujhe kya ho raha hai Jai? Tujhe bura kyu lg raha hai? Mai humesha se janta tha ki Bani acchi hai dil ki aur ye iske saath bura kr rahe hai....pr aaj mujhe kyu bura lg raha hai!? Shit!! Kahin mujhe isse pyaar to nahi ho gaya? Ye acchi hai....pta nahi kb mere dil me iske liye jagah ban gayi...haye...meri timing kitni kharab hai...ab jaakr realise kiya hai maine??

V: Bani..I will take care of the situation. You don't worry..

Veer left and Bani was still lost in her thoughts. After a while, Veer was outside overlooking the situation when the cook came running.

C: Veeranshu ji....Bani beti nahi dikh rahi...

V: Kya? Aise kaise nahi dikh rahi...

C: Sb jagah dekh liya maine..

Veer was tensed when his security guy who was in the van came running.

S: (huff) Maine...(huff).. Bani ko...vo Jai..peeche ke gate se..

P: Kya?? Jai to police jeep me tha!! Constable!!

They turned and saw that the constable was unconscious on the ground.

P: Iska mtlb vo Jai uski ladki ko lekr bhaag raha hai...Veer--- ab ye kahan gaye..

C: Vo to backyard ki taraf bhaag gaye...jahan se us guard ne bolla vo Jai lekr gaya Bani Beti ko..

P: Oh! Okay...

The police also ran with some other men in that direction. Right behind Bani's residence was a dhobighat. Veer rushed through its lanes trying to find Bani. His stomach unsettling at the thought of him hurting Bani.

Jai was running with an unconscious Bani in his arms. He had sneaked out of the van and into the house. He had hit Bani while she was sitting on the couch. She was already light headed because he had hit her earlier and fainted. He picked her up and left through the back door.

J: Sorry darling. Maine der kr di realise krne me...pr ab bhi utni der nahi hui hai...hum kahin door apni alag duniya basayenge..

Jai was running aimlessly and tripped as he was not looking clearly.

J: oof!

He tripped and Bani fell off his arms and landed on a big pile of wet clothes. This woke her up but her head was spinning.

B: Ahhh...

J: Shhh...arey chup!

B: Jai? Tum ?? VEER!!!!!!...BACHAOOOOO...

Jai moved to shut her up but the damage was done. Veer had heard her and was rushing in that direction.

J: Chup kro Bani...!!!!

V: Kyu be? Tu chup krta hai jo Bani chup kare? Jb dekho apni gandi awaz sunnata hai na??

J: Teri! Mujhse tameez se baat kr!

V: Badtameez logon se tameez se baat nahi krta mai..

J: You!!!

Jai moved to punch Veer but Bani pulled the cloth he was standing on. Jai ended up falling at Veer's feet.

J: Aah!

V: Ab aya na tu sahi jagah!

Veer kicked his stomach and then lifted him up by collar. He thrashed Jai until police came. He threw Jai towards them.

V: In teeno me se koi baccha na toh thik nahi hoga...I don't like to throw my name around and use it but just so you know..I am Veeranshu SINGHANIA!

The police men gulped and reassured Veer. They began working more efficiently and left with the culprits.

Vani reached Veer's apartment and Veer organized a dinner to cheer her up. He even invited her grandfather. They told him everything about being really married and Bani shared all her bottled feelings.

M: If you both seek my blessings. You have it! Rest, I am fine with whatever you children decide.

He left after dinner. Vani spoke about their next move.

V: Bani, vo to hum soch lenge pr please..aaj ki saari baat man se nikal lo...boj mt rakho..

Bani was glad Veer was so thoughtful. They spoke for a while before sleeping on the couch itself.

The next day, post breakfast, Vani went to the station to file a proper case. Veer supported her throughout. Bani was getting attracted to his caring nature and great personality. They both had started to like each other.

When they came back home, they saw the house was in a chaotic state. Leo, who was left with the caretaker, had created a havoc. He had broken a few pots and was covered in mud. The caretaker complained about his behavior and left

V: Leo!! Ye kya kaam badha diya..

B: Koi baat nahi Veer. Let's clean this up.

Bani and Veer cleaned up the pot and mud. They prepared for Leo's bath. Bani was scrubbing his head while Veer was cleaning his paws. He was in a small tub. After the bath, Veer bought a towel to clean him up but leo rushed near Bani and shook his fur.

B: Ouch!!! Leo!!

All the water got sprayed on her face and got soaked by her white shirt. Veer started to laugh and Bani got up and mock glared at him. Veer looked up to her and his breathe hitched.

B: Kyu kya hua? Ab nahi aa rahi hasi..

V: Bani...I think you should see yourself first...

B: Mtlb?

'Ding-Dong'

B: Koi aya hai, mai dekhti hoon..

Veer quickly sprung to action and blocked her. She got startled by this.

B: Kya hua Veer?

Leo was watching this with excitement but also remained super quite. The bell rang again and Leo looked at the door with irritation.

B: Koi hai gate pr...choro mera rasta..

Veer grabbed her arms and pushed her against the wall.

B: Kya ..

Veer kept his hands on her lips. Their faces were inches apart.

V: Just look at your shirt sweetheart, your white and wet shirt.

Bani gulped and looked down. Clearly, her inner wear was visible and one could also make out the silhouette of her body. She looked up, love clear in Veer's eyes. Love with a little bit of ....lust?

B: Veer..

She whispered shyly. Her innocence was his undoing. He smashed their lips together.

Leo left the room and so did the person who got tired of ringing the bell.

That night when they sat to discuss each other's future, they both decided to give this marriage a chance.

B: Agar ye hua hai toh isme bhi kuch upar wale ki marzi rahi hogi...mai ek mauka dena chahti hoon...pr I respect your decision.

V: Mai bhi ek chance dena chahunga sweetheart

Court hearing was in a month. In that duration Vani fell for each other. After a month, the evil trio received their lawful punishments.

Veer bought Bani home after the court. Chandrakala was delighted.

Ch: Bahu rani!!! Finally tumhare sir se khatra tal gaya na beta? Ab mai sbko bata skti hoon mere Veer ki shaadi ho gayi hai.

Rest of the family: WHAT!!!!!?

They were all angry with Veer but slowly their rage melted. They accepted Bani with open arms. Her innocence won them over. Soon, Vani married traditionally to please there families and lived together thereafter.
