Chill out grumpy pants
"Why would a tyrannical King of a world that I've only known existed for the past two days care if I knew who my father was?" I asked Cynth in plain disbelief.
"I suppose it's crucial to his plans, I wonder....there are so many possibilities...." Astoria mused.
"I agree, Astoria. This means that knowing who you're father is or was would give us an advantage. There are so many possibilities as to why but no way to find out which one is the real reason." Cynth replied.
"Well whatever the reason it's useless to think about it. There's no way we'll be able to find out without a ninety percent chance of death with the other ten percent being a fate worse than death," I grumbled.
"Woah there, chill out grumpy pants." Wilde said weakly as he attempted to sit up from the bed in the infirmary. His situation was stable but he would need to rest in bed for a few days.
I glared at him and retorted, "Wow, this guy almost died and is still in the mood to call me names."
Wilde grinned and put a hand over his heart pretending that he was touched, "I didn't know you cared, little Ashlyn."
"I'm not little and who would care about someone so annoying." I huffed.
Aine and Astoria shared a knowing look and for some reason I saw Cynth's eyes soften. What was happening? Were they in on a joke or something? Were they amused by our arguing? Ugh, whatever.
I stormed out of the tent. I needed fresh air. Wilde was so annoying! It was so infuriating that I was so close to finding out who my father was and that evil bastard of a king has to take that away too. My mother already died to stop him, why can't he let me know who my father is at least? I spent ten years in that orphanage wondering if my parents were alive and if they abandoned me on purpose. I finally knew that truth but I still don't know who my father is. Argggh! Wilde had the nerve to annoy me after all I'm going through! I know he's just trying to lighten up the mood but it is NOT helping, and the others just looked at us like it was cute, wait they couldn't have thought we were-no-impossible. Ugh I'm going to go read something to cool off, where was the library again?
I stumbled through the corridors until I found it, I found a good book to read. It was a fairy tale about a fire princess who fell in love with an ice prince but their kingdoms were at war so they couldn't be together. The ending was bittersweet. I almost cried. Only after I finished the book and I had placed it back where it belonged did I notice how late it was. Time really goes fast when you're reading something good! I got up and went back to my tent. I found Luna in my tent and she got on my shoulder and said, "It's dinner time! I'm hungry, let's go eat Mistress Ashlyn. I hope they have grilled pheasant it's my favorite!" I grinned at the little Matagot and said, "Well let's go then!"

Sorry I haven't updated in a while but here's a chapter, I hope you like it! Thanks for all the reads!
BTW Do you guys ship Wilde and Ashlyn? Fun fact: I based the fairy tale that Ashlyn read on a Chinese drama called ice fantasy, I just thought I'd suggest watching it to you guys.
