New Boys and New Titles

My name is Mercury Moore, and my five friends and I are officially ' Unpopular '.
I don't know exactly when I was branded as unpopular, and yet I think it was between the times when Liz Allen asked me what clothes brand I liked and I answered with, " Clothes have brands? I thought that was just cattle, and phones," and the time when Flash Gordon threw a football at me and I caught it one handed before throwing it back at him so hard it made him stumble back when he caught it. Oops, my bad.
So now, the reigning popular monarchs, Flash Thompson and Liz Allen, along with their faithful servant Mary-Jane Watson have officially given me, The Brand, which is just their opinion on me. Apparently the Aussie transfer who can keep up easily with the football jocks is not popular teen material.
Not that I care.
If I was popular, then I wouldn't have met Peter Parker, my best friend. And Harry Osborne, another of my friends, and yet I barely see him since the Green Goblin fiasco last March. He is homeschooled now.
Peter is Spiderman, how did I discover this? Well I might have accidentally figured it out with my amazing hacking skills. Who knew S.H.I.E.L.D files were so easily accessible? I'm sure Nick Fury would just love to know how bad his firewalls were.
In any case, ever since I found out I've been helping Peter. He now has upgraded tech and web shooters. Turns out the Unpopular Aussie exchange girl is a tech genius and isn't afraid to build. Who knew? I did, and ever since I've been on the end of the Comms while he fights, being the brains of the operation since I'm an expert at tactics and tech. All the science stuff is his passion, but all the analysing battles, that's my thing.

" Hey Planet girl! You daydreaming about itty bitty Parker?!" Flash Thompson jeered.
I ignored him as I walked in to the halls of Midtown High, my black bag slung over my shoulders.
" Did you hear me Planet girl?" Flash jibed, walking over closer to me.
I turned to face him, seeing him clearly with my black framed glasses, my ombré brown hair falling over my shoulders.
" The last time I checked, I do have a name! And it's not Planet girl," I snarked, an eyebrow raised.
Flash laughed loudly and grabbed my glasses before I could react. My vision went from clear and sharp to vague blurry shapes in a blurry world. I couldn't see myself, let alone Flash.
" Have fun finding your glasses, try checking on Pluto, Planet girl," Flash growled as he walked away, going to find Liz Allen probably.
I felt around, now on my hands and knees, my hands gliding across the floor, which I could only distinguish as a pale grey blur. I felt utterly helpless, I was as blind as a bat!
" Hey, looking for these?" A make voice asked curiously.
I felt around until my hands felt something that I assumed was a foot. A large hand came down gripped my hand, pulling my up with a sudden heave so I was now standing.
I moved my hands around til I managed to find the person's hand and take the glasses he was holding out.
Putting them on everything suddenly came in to focus. I could see everything and I could see that I was currently standing very close to a guy with shaggy brown hair, a handsome face and a faded green jacket.
" Thanks, for giving me back my glasses," I said awkwardly.
" You looked like you needed them. Hi, I'm Will Treaty," The guy greeted, smiling broadly.
" I'm Mercury Moore. Nice to meet you, Will. Are you new this semester?" I asked slightly awkwardly.
He nodded.
" Yeah, me and my friend Hal Mikkelson are new here. You know where Mrs Kat's art room is?" Will inquired hopefully.
I grinned broadly, a bright smile on my face.
" I've got art first off as well, let's find your friend and I'll show you two there. You should meet my friend, Peter, you two would hit it off!" I offered as I retrieved my books and lead him down the hall.
